Rel hoists one of the sleeping githyanki over the gunwhale. The man falls, then slows and starts falling back up again, bobbing back and forth across the ship's gravity plane a few times before coming to a stop and drifting slowly aft.
Suddenly, as an asteroid passes overhead, casting a shadow on the deck, you hear a scream from the main deck. Turning their ship-wide attention to the area, Gloix sees one of the guards outside the helm cabin lying dead on the deck. For a moment it isn't apparent how, but as the asteroid spins away you notice that part of the wall is still in shadow, almost as if cast by some creature standing over the crewmate's body. Then it moves toward the second guard, and it becomes clear that the shadow isn't of the attacker, the shadow itself is the attacker.
[Gloix, read this if either your passive perception or a Perception check beats 13]:
You spot a second shadow creeping across the sterncastle.

[Githyanki turn:]
[Mangonel fire spread chance: 5]
The remaining githyanki ballista crew manage to load and fire the weapon at the prow of the Foundling, where it penetrates their own ship. [Ballista vs Foundling: 17 for 16 piercing damage] But the recoil from the shot shakes the badly damaged ballista apart, and the crew that were hanging from it fall skidding along the vertical deck! [DC15 Dex save or take 2d10 fall damage: Crew 2: 10, 7; Crew 7: 18, 8]
Meanwhile in the ruined bridge, the githyanki spelljammer continues to hack at the splintered wood, while the crewmate swings again against Xavier. [Scimitar vs breach: 17 for 5 slashing damage Scimitar vs Xavier: 21 for 7 slashing damage]
One of the enemy ballista crew manages to catch herself on some rigging, and descends safely to the Foundling's deck; then other falls to the deck with a thud and doesn't get up again.
[Foundling crew's turn! Looks like you've got a second threat to deal with...]

It's a Christmas miracle! Someone has actually hit Xavier!
From the perspective of Erma, what can she see? There's supposedly one dude sleeping at her feet, but other than that?
I think anyone on deck (or above it, is Zaius still up in the rigging?) (so, everyone except Xavier who's inside the enemy ship) can see: one githyanki crew mildly injured and asleep at Erma's feet; one githyanki crew uninjured near the front of the ship; reacting to the scream you might have to move to look over a railing or see past a mast or something, but you can see the shadow attacking the crew (basically near the bottom of the stairs down from the sterncastle); from the deck you could also make a Perception check with disadvantage to see the spoiler above, or without disadvantage from up in the rigging (or Gloix could just tell you, since I think my roll didn't beat his passive perception).
As a cleric, Erma would probably also recognize the shadow as some form of undead, and know that you could make an Insight check to try to recall more specifics.]
"Shadows!" Gloix voice comes into his companions mind. "By the stern castle and they're attacking the guards by the helm!" He maintains his position at the helm, however, not sure what will happen if he lets go of control of the ship.
Zaius pulls his scimitar from the enemy Captain and turns to look back at the ship as he hears both Erma’s shout and Gloix’s warning echo in his mind. Spotting the shadows by the stern, he launches himself out of the rigging and, arms spread, glides down the deck. Landing in front of a shadow, he strikes out with his blade. “Fighting shadows. What madness is this?”
Erma and Zaius both feel some resistance as their weapons pass through the shadows, and get the sense that they did damage, but not as much as they would have to a solid creature. Erma recalls that, as creatures of death and darkness, the shadows probably don't like sunlight or radiant damage, but are probably immune to necrotic and poison damage, as well resistant to several other types. Further, judging by the state of the dead crewmate's body, it looks like they have some sort of nasty drain attack.
[Oops, I should have asked for an Intelligence (Religion) check there, not Insight. It's a success either way though]
He maintains his position at the helm, however, not sure what will happen if he lets go of control of the ship.
[I think you would probably know that if you leave the helm (or break concentration with it), the ship would just drift; i.e. be mostly stationary but slowly and somewhat randomly pulled around by the astral currents. You probably wouldn't be in danger of running into anything, but also wouldn't be able to actively keep the deck in direct sunlight, which might be to the shadows' advantage...]

Rel will direct his attention to the awake githyanki on board the Foundling. "Your captain is dead, your ship a wreck. You didn't put up much of a fight, how can you even call yourselves Gith?" (vicious mockery DC 15 WIS save else 1psychic damage and DA on next attack roll)

[I guess technically it should be, but eh, he wasn't putting up any resistance, and was right next to the side anyway having just climbed over, we'll call that your "interact with an object" for the turn ;)]
The githyanki on the deck winces as Roy's bolt pierces her abdomen, then grimaces only slightly as Rel's spell takes effect and stays on her feet. [She missed her save by that much, but has resistance to psychic so only took 1. Still has disadvantage though.]

[Also looking for an action from Xavier and Rel, I believe?]
I thought I had used my turn. I am epic smart man 😎
Xavier would be sent reeling from the shot by the Crewmate. He had grown accustomed to people missing him and let his guard down. Without any sense of smiling on his face, he hefted his quarterstaff, feinted a shot to the body, then swung at the crewmates's head. He then followed it up with a knee to the stomach of (the same one if not dead, the one attacking the breach)
The githyanki crewmate ducks Xavier's staff, putting their head right in line with the monk's knee, which it collides with with a loud clunk, and the crewmate slumps to the floor.
The Foundling's ballista crew, not really having a useful target for the siege weapon right now, pick up their crossbows and fire at the last githyanki on the deck. The other crew attach the shadows. Erma heads towards the scream, taking a very firm grip on the warhammer. She raises her voice and bellows out "OVER HERE!!"

OOC: Sorry for absence, been down with the flu.
Roy hears the call of Shadows but remains focused on the remaining Gith as the priests of the crew were better suited to deal with the shadows.
