Zap's spell yanks the reaver off its feet with enough force that the creature's floating brain slams against the weakened bowl, shattering it. The brain stays behind as the rest of the body is pulled to fall at Zap's feet pseuodopoda, a lifeless corpse.
The victory is short lived, however, as the remaining reavers press their attack!
[Reaver 1 scimitar vs Da'Kal: 22 for 3 slashing damage, halved to 1 by rage] [Reaver 2 [Tooltip Not Found] vs Zap: 20 for 8 piercing damage] [Reaver 3 [Tooltip Not Found] vs Kiki: 14 for 6 piercing damage] [Reaver 5 scimitar vs Icarus: 23 for 8 slashing damage]
["[Tooltip Not Found]" I guess I mistyped, those are their crossbow attacks, and I'm not gonna edit it now and mess up the dice rolls]
The first reaver swings at Da'Kal but doesn't come close to hitting. "What the $&#@ was that, you're supposed to hit the weird bug person, not just *($% wave in its general direction!" its own tail chides it.
The other reavers have more success, though; the briefcase-carrying one landing a particularly nasty blow to Zap's plasmoid body.

[Hmm, I haven't pasted a copy of the map state here in a while, let me fix that. This is before Icarus starlight steps away:]
[So I think Icarus shocking grasps #5 which is adjacent to him (leather armor so no advantage, but you didn't need it), then teleports, let's say four squares down and two left, to the main deck behind the remains of the mast? The reaver between Zap and Yaris is dead, so Zap can move freely, but Captain Sardax ran a well-maintained ship, so I don't think there's any gaps in the deck except for the area around the collision; Zap could make for that but would probably risk an opportunity attack from #2 if its still alive by then, or could get some cover behind the forward ballista]
As you watch the pirates attack your comrades, the strangest feeling comes over you. You know that you and your allies are the crew of the Moonraider, fiercely loyal to your ship, to each other, and to Captain Sardax, whose broken corpse lies on the deck behind you. But try as you might, you can't quite seem to recall how you all got into this situation: in fact, aside from a vague impression of being ordered into enemy territory to assist another ship in distress, you cannot remember anything at all before the reaver's attack. Your crewmates names, the mission you were on, even how you came to be serving on the Moonraider in the first place, are all a blank. This must be the result of some powerful spell cast by the reavers to disorient your crew, part of some strategy to soften you up and make it easier for them to seize the ship!
Icarus shocks the reaver next to him, then blinks away out of sight. As he does so, you see the ship's dog, Bruno [(you do talk about Bruno)] come bounding up the stairs to the forecastle, his keg of restorative liquor still tied around his neck. Bruno runs up to one of you to allow you to drink from the keg, then hurries back down to the main deck.
[One character, technically of Da'Kal's choice but might I suggest Zap, can use their reaction to drink from the keg, regaining 1d6 hp]
Da'Kal stabs the reaver and it slumps to the deck! "Oh now look what you've #^&@ done, you've killed us. *gurgle* *cough* I'm *#^$ dying! Oh, what a world, what a world!" the mouth finally falls silent.

Kiki delivers a crossbow bolt directly through the pirate's neck; blood gushes from the wound, covering what little of their wedding dress wasn't already caked with the stuff, and they collapse in a heap.

But the dead reaver has barely hit the deck when another leaps over from the enemy ship. This one has mirror-like, reflective skin.
Zoide can't shake the feeling that a spell has been casted on everyone here and uses detect magic to figure out who is has magical aura around them.
You and your allies all have a strong aura of Enchantment around them. The pirates, on the other hand, seem to have almost no magical aura at all, except that the entire deck seems to be covered with a fog of intertwined strands of Conjuration and Illusion magic. While it's not in your spell's range, you also sense the characteristic magical signature of the ship's spelljamming helm, though it's a bit odd: the helm should be back in the stern of the ship, down on the main deck near the galley, but it feels much closer, almost as though it were up on the forecastle with you.

[Back to the top of the order, and Icarus is up]
[Oh, and meanwhile, Zoide, give me a straight Wisdom check]
Icarus seeing his friend Zap in trouble spins around and reaches out to the Reaver that hit them. (Presuming its the one behind Zap and Icarus).
Shocking Grasp: Attack: 17 Damage: 3
D&D since 1984
He then replies to Zap (again presuming that was the one that hit them, "You should be able to move to cover now"
D&D since 1984
Bonus Action: Starlight Step to lower left on Map (~30') then movement to find cover. That is my turn.
D&D since 1984
Almost forgot, Shocking Grasp attack would be at advantage if the Reaver is wearing metal armor.
2nd to hit roll if for advantage: 21
D&D since 1984

[Then it's Da'Kal's turn]
Da'Kal calls Bruno a good boy and says *Good boy look for Zap*!
She then tries to free the bandit from its talking mouth.

[Arrow vs reaver 3: 7 Damage: 5 piercing damage]
Another arrow from somewhere amidships misses the scaly reaver.
[Kiki is up]
Kiki curses, shifts over towards her allies, and takes aim at another reaver, this time simply firing her crossbow.
Attack: 16 Damage: 6 vs Reaver #5
Attack: 16 Damage: 9 vs Reaver 5

"Oops, there goes the bride..." Kiki says with a slight cringe at the fact that she just took a life.

[Reaver 3 dex save: 21]
[Reaver 6 dex save: 4]
The scaly-skinned reaver remains standing, but the other two lose their balance!
