1) If Arissa no longer has Invisibility prepared on her spell list, he instead casts Invisibility on himself and Arissa, leaving Frandal visible since he has the better chance of not being seen.
If Bharash is able to zap it on her, then Xellos will say "Bharash would you be able to help us out? I can only zap Invisibility on 3 people."
2) if Arissa *does* have Invisibility (from my question for clarification in OOC chat), he lets her cast it on herself, using the last instance of it on himself (everyone invisible)
3) If neither are an option, he leaves Frandal *visible* (everyone else invisible)

It's settled then. Bharash agrees to making Frandal invisible. Xellos causes Arissa to become invisible.
Everyone: You approach the south gate of Talisten and notice immediately the increased number of guards posted there, five in total. Two of them are occupied with a farmer who is leading a donkey and cart into the city. They're making a thorough search of the items in the cart while running the farmer through a series of questions about his business in Talisten. "Why all the trouble and concern?" You boys have seen me enter this gate every week for nigh on three years!" you hear the farmer say.
"Following orders...following orders. Rumors of trouble in other parts of Syndaris, sir." responds one of the guards as you pass through the gate undetected. Previously, you entered Talisten through the Fisherman's gate; so you're not entirely familiar with the part of the city, but immediately to your right you recognize the rooftop of the Chancellor's house where you initially met with Sariel, Bharash, Kempis, and the Chancellor. To your left, you're able to identify that the buildings are purposed for city officials and housing guards. (See map below for an overview of Talisten, including all numbered buildings that you're familiar with from your previous days spent in the city). You hear the raucous call of a jay in the trees to your right, and you recognize it as Sariel. The druidess reverts to her usual form as you approach her.
"I'll go straight away to the Chancellor" she says. "I can enter the Chancellor's home directly, without any questioning from his guards. The rest of you continue to The Dwarven Stout. Find Kempis. I will send a guard to the inn to inform you of what I find in the Chancellor's home."
The scene within Talisten seems entirely normal as you make the short walk to Kempis' inn.
Everyone:Bharash's voice is suddenly audible. "Xellos and Frandal, you're familiar with the rear exit of The Dwarven Stout; would the two of you post yourselves there? I'll enter through the main door with Ozum, Arissa, and Kurt. If you hear any trouble, enter immediately. Otherwise, one of us will come to you."
Ozum, Arissa, and Kurt:
You follow Bharash through the doors of The Dwarven Stout, uncertain of what to expect. Within, you see several patrons having their evening meal as they sit in casual conversation. Nothing is amiss. You do not see any sign of Kempis, however.
Frandal and Xellos:
You wait, straining your ears for any sign that Arconius has been discovered. But you hear and see nothing.
Horatio Hirschfeld - Squire imbued with fae powers, in the Coliseum of Conquest (W2/L1) DM for Reavers of Harkenwold, and sometimes The Fighting Grounds of the Coliseum
*Perhaps one of us, with another appearance, should had entered the inn and asked for Kempis* he thought to himself *Or he maybe not here but at the market...*
*That’s actually a possibility* said Celebquesse in his mind.
*Go there and see if you can see him my friend*
*You got it* replies the eagle and turns towards the market lookig for Kempis.
You see two options. The first is the door to the kitchen area and the rear of the building. The other exit from the room leads upstairs, likely to where the lodgings are.
Arissa, Ozum, and Kurt:
You enjoy the benefits of being completely undetected by everyone in the room as you thoroughly scrutinize each patron, looking for anyone who seems out of place or up to no good (Ozum, considering your large size, you have the burden of being sure you don't bump into anything. You do not, however, detect anything or anyone who is invisible). As you look about the room, suddenly the entrance door behind you opens and in walks Bharash, completely visible. It seems he has changed his approach to handling the situation. His presence, of course, makes quite an impression on the folks in the room. Conversations stop and heads turn. Bharash smiles warmly at people as he walks past their tables; he approaches the barmaid and says loudly enough for all to hear, " Good evening, Burry! Thought I'd have a meal and a drink with Kempis tonight. Where is that lovable dwarf?"
Burry cocks her head to one side and smiles at the wizard."Well, what surprise this is Bharash."She then continues to speak with Bharash but in a much quieter tone. What she says you are unable to hear. Bharash then turns and promptly exits The Dwarven Stout.
Frandal:
Celebquesse takes flight, and for the first minute or so she has nothing to report.
Horatio Hirschfeld - Squire imbued with fae powers, in the Coliseum of Conquest (W2/L1) DM for Reavers of Harkenwold, and sometimes The Fighting Grounds of the Coliseum
You're confident that the visible Bharash is also the real one.
Ozum, Kurt, and Arissa: You follow the wizard as he walks around the building to the rear, where Xellos and Frandal are supposed to be waiting.
Frandal and Xellos:Quite unexpectedly, Bharash--completely visible--comes around the corner and enters the area behind The Dwarven Stout.
Everyone:As soon as Bharash is behind the inn, he speaks. "Friends of Syndaris, I apologize for changing the strategy unannounced. By walking in alone--seemingly--and visible, I hoped that Arconius would immediately pounce. He would think I was alone, and I knew the five of you would have tremendous odds at surprising him." He pauses and then says, "I do indeed hope that all five of you are somewhere near me. Please remain invisible but say something to confirm that each of you is still with the group..." Bharash says all of this as he continues to walk slowly eastward. "We must go to the Chancellor's home. I was just now informed that Kempis went there thirty minutes ago. I do not know what this means."
Arissa's voice speaks softly. "The ravens are extemporal."

Xellos follows Frandal's lead and remains quiet as they keep watch out back, but he becomes slightly suspicions when he sees Bharash leave the back entrance of the Stout.
After hearing Bharash speak, he says, "Red 5 standing by."
Arissa had the same idea as Xellos :P
He uses Minor Illusion to make his response sound slightly *ahead* of Bharash
After Bharash is far enough away eastward to not hear him, Xellos whispers softly to Frandal in Elvish
(Just to be clear, he does not whisper this if Bharash is close enough to hear and waits until he's far enough away)
"I've been thinking...could Bharash be the mastermind behind all this? If I were planning all of this out and had adventurers investigating, then getting them to focus on a different target without them suspecting myself would be the best move. I could be wrong, but we need to stay sharp. All of this seems very off to me."
Despite the fact that he knew where Xellos is, Frandal jumps on his feet a little bit when he hears his voice wishpering in elvish.
He replies in the same language and whispering too.
“ I don’t think so, he could had wiped out now that we got separated. What I distrust is that this one could be Arcanius, or perhaps Arcanius set a trap for Kempis at the Chancellor’s house. We have no choice but to go ahead though. See that corner near the bridge? I will go there and from there straight to the Chancellor’s house follow me.”
Frandal starts to move as quietly as possible heading for the Chancellor’s house. If possible without breaking the invisibility, he will cast prestidigitation making a silver glowing rune of a F in draconic at Barash’s side in the wall of the inn.
As Bharash conitnues to walk, he says, "It seems our party is in tact. Follow me as you are into the Chancellor's home. No point in revealing yourselves until we're certain all is well." A minute later Bharash is saying a few words to the Chancellor's guards, and then all of you--as you did one week ago--climb a set of stairs and enter the Chancellor's home. Just as you walk through the door another guard appears. He has a surprised look on his face when he sees Bharash.
"Ah, Master Bharash,'" the guard says, "Sariel had just now ordered me to fetch you from The Dwarven Stout."
"No need, Linzar. I have learned the person I want to see is actually here with the Chancellor," replies Bharash.
The guard nods and points to the main hall, the place where all of you had dinner and made your initial plans last week. Bharash enters the large room ahead of you, and within you see Sariel, Kempis, and the Chancellor sitting near the fire. There's no food or drink this time. Bharash approaches and says, "I'm relieved to see that everyone is well. No doubt Sariel has explained that we have good reason to believe that Arconius is here in Talisten?"
Sariel, Kempis, and the Chancellor all nod their heads in unison. Bharash asks, "What have I missed?"
The Chancellor speaks, "Kempis has come, quite simply, to offer his advice on a matter of Talisten's safety, Bharash. He believes I am in error and, therefore, wishes for me to rethink my strategy for these troubled times." You can sense some irritation in the Chancellor's voice as he says these words.
Kempis does not reply to the Chancellor; he does, however, look at Bharash as he angrily says, "Turning half the Talisten guard into hunting parties and sending them into the open country! He's doing little more than increasing the vulnerability of this city."
"Kempis, old friend, I have heard your counsel, and I thank you for it," says the Chancellor in a conciliatory tone. "I will reflect on all you have said, but I will not sit and argue with you any longer."
Kempis responds with a violent shake of the head.
The Chancellor seeks to change the subject and tone. "Let's have something to eat, my friends. Bharash, Sariel has explained a bit about what the two of you have seen in the past few days. Tell me more. And what a tremendous group of adventurers it is that have rallied to our side! I thought they might have accompanied you here tonight."
Bharash responds. "Yes, Chancellor, it is true. Those five have uncovered a substantial amount of information and faced great peril on behalf of Syndaris. We have much to be thankful for. I did not have the heart to ask them to do more today. Each of them was happy to have a quiet meal at The Dwarven Stout and call it a day. We can call on them for breakfast tomorrow perhaps."
"Yes. Breakfast it shall be," responds the Chancellor with a smile.
Ozum will shift his body to motion for Kurt to disembark. Once Kurt is off his back Ozum will follow along but stick to the walls and ceilings to avoid being walked into.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xellos hears the conversation and agrees with Kempis's comments. However, he is not at all happy with the Chancellor's responses and that Bharash told him where we're staying.
He wonders if we're being setup for an ambush by either the Chancellor and/or Bharash. In short, is our meeting in the morning possibly compromised.
