Thrax is going to move on the water elemental. He’s going to use a bonus action to ignite his flame tongued sword in hopes steaming the creature out of existence (he’s never fought one before so we will see). Thrax then takes his two attacks with the flaming sword

Attack 1: 22. Damage: 5 slashing and 6 fire damage

Attack 2: 15. Damage: 6 slashing and 10 fire damage

you hit the water, elemental, and as you hit it, you see a hole burn through, but it fills back in.

(OOC:It still took flame damage.)

 Did both strikes hit or just the first?

They both, hit, but I don't think gelatinous cubes take slashing damage.

oh, sorry it was the water elemental, they definitely don't take slashing damage.

Morg shoots a firebolt at the cube 14 to hit 12 damage if hits (in game log) 

(just realized cube is closer- is the fly headed guy still there? )   Morg retreats back away from the cube.
