Barty's "Lost Mine of Phandelver"

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that goblin. What's his story, Nemean?" Tarok enquires.

Argos stands near the door, looking into the hallway while Nemean inspects the goblin. "What do you think, Nemean?" 

The goblin remains unconscious while Nemean grabs him, but is breathing steadily and appears to be in good condition. It is equipped, but its weapons and armor look as if they could fall apart at any moment. It is smaller and frailer than the average goblin.

"Is this some kind of goblin runt? Let's wake him and see what he has to say." Tarok suggests.

“He doesn’t look like much... don’t see what he was doing with the Bugbears. I don’t think they kept him around because they felt they could count on him in a fight.”

Nemean takes the goblins weapons and tosses them aside. He then shakes the creature attempting to wake him.

Tarok sheathes his crossbow and retrieves his maul, slinging it over his shoulder.

OOC: Each character has received 150 XP for defeating the three bugbears.

The goblin slowly wakes, opening its eyes to the ferocious creatures around him. Realizing its situation, it starts shaking and pleads, "P-p-please no kill Droop! Droop helpful, Droop help you!"

"In what way? What do you know?" Tarok enquires, a frown curling on his face. He doesn't trust goblins, but is intrigued by the mystery that has presented itself.

Nemean glared at Droop. “Glasstaff is dead. His thugs cowar before us. What help could you possibly give to us?”

Visibly trembling, Droop answers, "Droop n-n-no fight! Droop know hideout, yes? Droop help if scary men ask!

Nemean held for a few moments as if considering Droops fate. Eventually he sighs “Lucky for you, we are merciful heroes and friend to the downtrodden. You can start by telling us how many more of you Redbrands there are her, and what we will find when we take the stairs to the east?”

Nemean gives the Goblin another look, “and tell us what your duties were here, you certainly look, well uh... downtrodden, don’t imagine you were exactly Glasstaffs right hand man were ya?”

Argos recovers the Redbrand prisoner from the hallway, bringing him inside the room. Argos closes the door and talks to his companions, "I think we should rest up here for a bit, that bugbear was pretty tough. What do y'all say? About an hour then we continue?"

If everyone agrees to the rest, Argos sits down and takes a short rest, sipping on water and snacking on some dried meat.

"Sounds good to me. What should we do with the Redbrand prisoner? tie him up? I have some rope." Tarok says, as he takes his backpack off and begins rummaging through it.

"I already tied up his hands and feet. He only has enough space on his feet to shuffle slowly, so I don't think he'll be going anywhere." Argos glares threateningly at the Redbrand prisoner as he responds to Tarok. He pushes the Redbrand into a corner of the room furthest away from the door and tells him to sit down.

The Redbrand glares at Argos but does as he is told.

"Droop is bugbear entertainment!" says Droop excitedly, "Is not fun work but Droop better at licking floor than fighting."

The goblin thinks to himself for a long while when questioned about the number of Redbrands, before eventually saying, "Five? Seven...Droop never was good with numbers. There is big scary mind eater up stairs. He leave us alone and Redbrands but Droop hears him without words, big scary mind eater."

OOC: Go ahead and roll any hit dice you would like to use during this short rest.

"An entertainer eh, Droop?" Muses Nemean, as he relaxes and sets down his gear. "Well, here we are now. Entertain us." He stares as the goblin, waiting for him to perform.

Droop, eager to please the scary men, drops to the floor and starts rolling around pitifully, shouting "A mulatto! An albino! A mosquito!" 

"Ugh, my libido," Sildar says, "I am...uncomfortable."

Droop then gets on all fours and starts licking the floor, trying to find the grossest, dirtiest spots.

This at least prompts a chuckle from the Redbrand in the corner, saying "I don't think we share the bugbears' senses of humor, you filthy mutt."
