"I'm sure he'll have an idea. Don't admit to nothing, though. Now, you might want to get cracking. The night's only so long, and I'm not sure you want to be doing this in broad daylight. The blood shows up better on the cobbles, then. Real pretty, sure, but not all that great for getting away with it." Amadeus smiles cruelly, then waves you all off.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Von slides away from the table and heads out the door. “Perhaps we do keep this a one-time employment,” she remarks to her compatriots. “I admire this man’s ambition, but he should fight his battles man to man instead of hazing with the hired help. I did like your idea about putting the fear of the gods into them, Camus. And I think Chlorys and I have the abilities to make it unforgettable.”
Chlorys narrows her eyes at the bartender but puts up no further protest, instead following her new companions, silently brooding as they walked out the door and into the night. She sighs, able to relax as they step out onto the street "I agree with you. I don't plan on making this a career." Chlorys chuckles nervously, "I'm not one for harming unless it's well warrented..... "So, how far is it until we reach this place?" She asks curiously; inky blackness stretched out in all directions around them, it would be easy for her to get lost in the city and Chlorys was thankful for companionship, even if she didn't know them well yet.
(OOC: I kind of assume that Amadeus gave us directions)
"Glad we're in agreement about that," I say to the elf. "But honestly, we might be doing this Braxton guy a bit of a favor as well, in a way. I'm not sure that I would put it past our new employer to send someone out to kill his business rival; giving Braxton a good scare this time may just save his life in the long run."
(Amadeus would have given you instructions, yes. You also all have passing knowledge of the city's basic locations, basically most of the stuff on the forgotten realms fandom wiki on Melvaunt. Probably not any of the actual deep lore or history, though, but you've been in this city for at least a short while. If you have any questions about the city or would like to make a check for knowledge of the city go ahead at any time)
(Anyways, are there any preparations you'd like to make, or anywhere you'd like to go first, or should I fast forward us to the Floating Fighter?)

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
On the other side of the docks, the Floating Fighter... well, floats. The inspiration for the inn's name is obvious, as soon as you all see it. The Floating Fighter is a repurposed boat, a large warship with billowing white sails. Its bottom sits in the water, but it doesn't exactly float. Wooden supports and scaffolds have been set up around it, anchoring it in place, likely so that the patrons within aren't inconvenienced by shifting plates and bouts of seasickness. A sign hangs over the front door, built directly into the ship's side, once again reminding you all that this is indeed the Floating Fighter. It is dark now, and the sails flap listlessly in the mild wind. The fog hangs low, obscuring vision past about fifty feet. The door is closed to keep in the warmth, but is likely unlocked. Of course, that may not be the only entrance, if a sneaky approach is preferred.

"Looks like we're here," I say, a bit unenthusiastically. "So, would you two rather knock on the door, or sneak in the back... or perhaps Chlorys should knock on the door to divert this guy's attention while Von and I sneak in the back. Whichever option you two choose, I think we'll get best results if I deliver Amadeus' message."
"I like the idea of one of us sneaking in the back with you to help sell the illusion. And someone should distract the barkeep for maximum surprise. Do you have a preference, Chlorys? I feel like both of us could be equally distracting someone with our feminine wiles," Von asks, flexing a bicep.
The smell of salt and filth hung heavy in the night air, stinging Chlorys' nose, she turned it up unconsciously. I think I have an idea," Chlorys smirked, "My new friend in the mask," she turns to Camus, "You should sneak around, find another way in. Von and I can both be distractions. No male ever likes to be involved in female squabbles. Well, let's get the barkeep involved. There'd be nothing worse than two women comparing their looks, asking for opinions. If you're up to it that is." She asks Von, giggling a little as the Orc flexes a sturdy bicep.
"Very well," I say. "I'll see you two again shortly."
I cast Invisibility on myself (using my one free casting per day from the Shadow Touched feat) and head towards the back of the bar to find an alternative entrance.
As the elf and the orc approach the bar, Camus begins to look for a way to a back entrance. Unfortunately, he is immediately confronted with an issue. There is a solid wooden platform connecting the side of the ship that makes up the Floating Fighter to the dock, but this platform does not wrap all the way around. There are probably gun ports that Camus might be able to enter through if he gets around, but he'll have to climb among the supports that hold the ship in place, as well as the rigging that hangs around, mostly for aesthetic purposes, in order to get to the other side.
Make an athletics check, if you are attempting to climb around.

Crap... total comes out to 9. Please tell me that that's at least enough to not fall into the water and just realize that I'm not getting a solid hold on the slippery wood and abandon the attempt.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Camus begins creeping around the edge of the boat, but the supports are slick and slimy, even if they aren't particularly old. Just as he is reaching for a hanging bit of rigging, Camus' foot slips, and he plummets down into the water with a SPLASH!
Make a concentration check to maintain invisibility after the shock of the cold water. DC 10.

Well crap, so much for that idea. I guess I'll slog along the bottom of the lake and flop onto the shore, muttering curses in every language I know, thanking the gods that at least I don't need to breathe. Small mercies.

I follow Von to the door.
"No idea about the Elf... but I know for a fact that this guy won't forget us soon," I say with a chuckle.
