Mizzens blow stabbed into Fhionns trailing leg but drew no blood...Fhionn hesitated in her travel towards the altar and her eyes briefly drifted toward Sir Valor, but the lure of the childs spirit coalescing about the altar cradle was too strong and her eyes drifted back from him again....above the altar the blue light began to slowly take the form of a small sleeping infant as Fhion unfastened the stopper on the jar...
Fhionn ignored the attacks upon her even as clay and chalk covered forms burst forth from the twisted tangles of roots to assail the companions; one of them was undoubtedly Sir Olvar, some others appeared to be lightly armoured and of a similar aspect.....others were heavily caked in earth and clad in grey wool kilts and another in tarnished Selentine ( ' Roman') lorica hamata. All had the same vacant expression and stared at Fhionn in adoration...even as their blows fell.

( Everyones up for Round 2)
If there's any ally within 5ft of Valor who took damage, he will use his reaction to:
Fighting Style: Interception
When a creature you can see hits a target, other than you, within 5 ft. of you with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage the target takes by 4 (to a minimum of 0 damage). You must be wielding a shield or a simple or martial weapon to use this reaction.
Morseth winces from the blow and then does his best to angle himself to be able to hit multiple thralls. He opens a jar with greenish liquid and secretly cast Tasha's Caustic Brew on the thralls.
Hotspur will race to the window and hold up his cloak to block out the morning sunbeams. If it is too high to do this, he will stand between the window and the altar with his cloak outspread, blocking as much of the light as he can.
( Argyle and Hotspur are within 5 ft of Valor, I'd say Tana is as well with a slight reposition).
Probably Tana then, Argyle is a fellow warrior and knows the danger, Hotspur is wiley and likely to escape, but Tana, while she can take care of herself, isn't interview a combatant in Valor's mind.
(Mechanically Valor is going to use a bonus action to use Fey Gift to "help" Argyle's next attack, then use his action to attack Fhionn)
Valor attempts to use his sword to block the blow against Tana. On his backswing, he strikes against the weapon of the minion attacking Argyle, pushing it off balance. "If violence is all that is left to you, then so be it. I will not let you kill another child, Fhionn!"
Attack: 24 Damage: 6
If he misses, he'll use Fortune from the Many to gain a +3 bonus on the attack.
(Fortune from the Many: if you miss with an attack roll or fail a saving throw, you can gain a bonus to the roll equal to the number of allies you can see (up to a +3 bonus).)

Tana winces from the thrall's blow, shooting Valor a grateful look as he fends off the worst of it. She scrambles to catch up with Fhionn, weaving away from the grasp of other thralls as she tries to position herself relatively close to the White Lady.
'Queen Fhionn! You needn't take the souls of children.' Tana attempts to converse with the lady through her mental connection, hoping to grasp a solid mind. 'I've been told that you serve The Wolf. That perhaps you take these young souls for their own safety. But they deserve to live their lives in the planes of mortals, with their families!'
(Action: Mind Link, Fhionn can respond | Persuasion: 17)

Hotspur races to the window and holds up his cloak to block out the morning sunbeams....the light to the altar is disrupted and the form of the child diffuses back into a string of blue light....it seems if nothing else he has delayed things somewhat....
Morseth winces from the blow and then does his best to angle himself to be able to hit multiple thralls. He opens a jar with greenish liquid and secretly cast Tasha's Caustic Brew on the thralls....fully half of the men, though not Sir Olvar, are hit by the strange magics and their flesh sears and is burned away even as the rapt expressions on their faces never fade....

" They Deserve! They Deserve? What of My Child? Did They Care? "
The voice in Tanas mind was grief-stricken and more than a little unhinged, but it seemed her words had had some sort of impact as Fhionn stopped her movement towards the altar and hung in the air somewhat listlessly...though her eyes still flickered between the childs soul and the jar in her grasp....very occasionally they flicked towards Valors burden....

It hurts. The attack that struck Mizzen in the chest... But it was far from what he had to endure out in the sea. Ignoring his former injuries, his expression changes from one of digust to one of absolute rage and hatred as he slams his trident with far greater force than previously."Thanks to you, lady, you've activated something in me. Something I've never felt ever since that day out in the oceans... By the names of the seven seas, you don't belong in our world, witch! BEGONE!"

Thatch winces as he is struck by one of the Thralls. Recognizing them as a distraction, he disengages and moves toward the altar, climbing on top if possible, and seeking any opportunity to prevent the child’s spirit from forming, or from the witch collecting it in her earthen jar.

Thatch clambers onto the altar without issue, easily evading the clumsy blows of his clay covered attacker...he sees Fhionn seemingly confused and stymied as she hangs in the air reaching out towards the altar..her eyes flicking from jar to altar to Valor over and over....the Thralls become still momentarily standing in the same confused state as Fhionn.....
Thatch:
Looking up you see Erkiss in the roots above you looking frantic and confused as if waiting for something...
( Fhionn and the enthralled will miss their turns this round as the companions have managed to equal but not surpass the threshold to reach her within her madness, but without a further push and with time running out she will likely snap out of it soon.....

Upon hearing the Lady's words, Tana appears a little more somber. 'What those villagers and Strabo did to your kin was terrible indeed. But inflicting a similar pain upon the people of the valley now cannot be the answer to your pain. To make the innocent feel what you have felt, that will not bring your suffering to an end.'
As Tana keeps up this mental connection, she also inches closer to Valor, briefly gesturing to the ancient sword and speaking in a whisper to him. "She is drawn to the sword. Her grief is palpable. Something must be done." Tana's gaze returns to the the Queen, 'This weapon has caused you an immense pain. Continuing a cycle of needless deaths will only mark you to be as cruel as Strabo was.'

While continuing to block out as much sunlight as possible, Hotspur will open the leather pouch he was gifted by Mab, probably with his teeth. (Is there anything useful inside? Anything that could be sprinkled on the altar, or cast at the spirit?) If not, he will drop the entire pouch on the altar, and cast Thaumaturgy on the opposite side of the witch, away from the altar, mimicking a newborn infant's cry. "Remember your pain!"he bellows, "Stop the cycle! Do not force that tragedy on another weeping mother!"

The leather pouch contains only some mousebones, crystals and flax seeds, but casting it at the altar does cause the green light rising from the carvings to snuff out and vanish though it slowly begins to return again......Fhionns head whips around at the babys cry and she begins to move towards it but stops and turns towards Hotspor, hissing furiously...
