Back out in the corridor and looking over the helm it seems to be an closed faced bronze helmet ( similar to the Sutton Hoo helmet), it carrys no decorations but the pieces which cover the ears are thickly padded with an admixture of wool and flax, it would be extremely difficult to hear anything with this helmet on...
Cainneach concurs with Morseth's assessment and says to Thatch, "Indeed, excellent work sliding through those wires! I noticed they seemed to originate from a dome at the peak of the ceiling. You happen to get a good look up there? It's obscured from this vantage point." He looks the helmet and quickly remarks, "If I had to guess, I'd say were in for some horrible noise further along in this dungeon. I wonder if it has anything to do with that sound of water that we keep hearing. Twiggy, ya heard that, didn't ya?"
Tana also eyes the helmet from beside Thatch, "Perhaps it'd be good for someone to try it on? To get a gauge on how much one can hear through the padding."
Thatch turns the strange helm over in his hands, trying to figure out why someone would want a helmet that dulled their sense of hearing. “Be my guest, try it on. Let;s see what happens.” Thatch hands the helm over to Tana, then turns his attention to the path ahead.
Tana gingerly takes the helmet from Thatch, giving it another once over before carefully pulling it over her ivory hair. She attempts to gauge how sound-proof the helm actually is or if it seems to affect her in any other way.
“Master Hotspur, give us a song. See if the helm keeps out the sound and protects Tana from your irresistible charm”Thatch calls out, only half-joking with the bard.
Valor considers. "We found the bag before we needed to capture the wind. Now we've found a helmet that doesn't let you hear. I wonder what obstacle we'll need this to overcome?"
Just to be sure, Hotspur launches into a brief but loud lute solo from "Highway to the 8th Circle of Hell" by the popular group Arcane Casters/Divine Casters.
Thatch looks at Sir Valor “Perhaps the next test is an ill-tempered bard with an out of tune lute.”He turns to Dru and Cainneach“You heard something in the corridor ahead? Let’s see” Thatch moves down the corridor to where it turns to the north and peers around the corner. Perception: 12.
"Yes, that's right. The sound of running water, something we had heard not long after entering this place. It's still hard to know where it's coming from, but I see no other choice but to forge ahead. We'll be right behind you, Thatch. Hopefully the bard's racket will scare away any monsters lurking in our path."Cainneach taps Tana on the shoulder and signals to remove the helm, but makes no indication that she should relinquish possession of it. He then nods to Dru and also draws his bow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
A brief plunge into silence is honestly quite refreshing for Tana, not that she hasn't enjoyed the chatter of the fellow party members but still – it felt reminiscent of her time alone back in the woods. Her lips curl in light amusement as Hotspur seems to launch into what she's sure it a lovely tune, ducking her head at the slight grimaces from the others. She watches as Thatch and Twiggy pull ahead and nods at Dob when he taps her on the shoulder.
The helm is gentle pulled off her head as she holds it carefully in her fingers. She quickly combs her hair through, tugging it back into a high ponytail before trailing after the group – eyes also scanning the area intently as they go.

As Thatch approaches the bend in the corridor, a flagstone gives slightly under his feet. There is an ominous click.
Suddenly a massive oil coated axe-blade swings out of the side wall—
Thatch’s stomach falls as he feels the flagstone move down beneath his feet. With no time to think, he throws himself forward and rolls to avoid the swinging blade. Dex Save: 7.
Thatch emerges from the room unscathed.
"That was... wonderful show of skill Thatch" says Morseth

Hotspur wonders, "I wonder if we could rotate it to keep some people from speaking..."
Dru nods at Cainneach. "I think that's what I heard, yes."
She then turns to Hotspur, "What? Is your throat sore?"
She nods toward the westward passage. "Shall we continue on then? The sooner we are out of here the better."
