Kathra would have liked more time to celebrate the felling of a great foe, but the collapsing chamber gives her barely enough time to lay a hand on the dragon's snout and mutter a quiet word of thanks before she snaps back to reality. "I'll grab our walrus friend. Back to the forge! We'll get out that way."
Gavin whispers to the fallen dragon “Tempus thanks you”. He runs over to Rhudall and Kathra and casts cure wounds on Rhudall for 11 hp recovery. He helps the dwarf move the walrus man while he is coming to. “The tunnel leading outside above the stream is closer” he yells and starts following whichever way the others decide to head.
((If I have the opportunity I would like to grab a scale or any other souvenir from the kill, but only if it’s readily available and convenient))
”Peren I will help Kathra while you secure the rope for our escape from this death trap”
((There are a multitude of shed scales all over the floor from your combat.))
Scraping up a handful of crystalline scales, Gavin rushes over to heal Kathra and the downed Rhudall. Kathra drags the walrus-man to his groggy feet as chunks of building rain down around them. After some hasty calculations, Peren and Gavin decide that maybe making a break for the open tunnel is faster than working their way through the whole complex and back down through the bowels of a crumbling glacier to escape.
If I understand correctly, your escape plan is thus:
Peren, ever the quick one, dashes down the cracking stone stairway and down the tunnel to the outside, hoping he can get some climbing gear in place before his friends catch up.
You think you have a serviceable start to this, however, the glacier wall that you need to apply more spikes to below is cracking apart. You'll have to go down fist and set three more spikes in safe locations.
The rest of you weave and hobble down the collapsing hallway, catching up to Peren who just set the first pitons in place.
Gavin looking around at the place literally falling apart around him, mutters to himself “I am getting too old for this...” he is cut off mid thought as another loud crack drowns out his thoughts.
Athletics: 17
((used +2 str vs +4 athletics so should be 19, if that matters))
Kathra and Gavin almost artfully weave their way down the stairs and through the crumbling corridor with their hefty charge in tow, avoiding any dangers or falling debris. Looking down, they see the piton and rope moderately-well secured, and Peren, about halfway down the glacier's face, setting a few more pitons into place and trying them off before heading down further.
((As soon as Thont checks in we'll see about climbing down this collapsing glacier. I'm sure that will be completely safe with no difficulty or poor dice rolls whatsoever.))

((Okay, now that we are all accounted for...here is how we will work our way down the glacier.))
Descending the glacier skill challenge:
With the last of the pitons in place, and Peren steadying the rope below, it is up to the rest of you to work your way down the cracking and crumbling glacier wall and get away from the area before the whole thing comes crashing down in a deadly avalanche. This particular climb will consist of five “rounds” of working your way down the ice. It does not matter what order you post in, but you must let all party members post at least once before a new round begins. At the end of each round, a number of successes and failures rolled by the party will be tallied. If you meet or exceed the required number of successes for that round nothing horrible will befall you. If you do not get enough successes, then the number of failures you racked up that round will inform your tribulations.
The following skills are advisable:
Acrobatics or Athletics (to repel or climb down the glacier wall)
Nature (to get a “feel” for safe places to move to before the ice breaks away from under you)
Perception (to keep an eye on falling debris) (can only be used three times over the course of all five rounds)
Survival (to use your climbing knowledge, even if you somehow lose access to the climbing gear)
Intimidate or Persuasion (to goad your friends along, granting them advantage on their next roll) (does not count at a success or failure for the challenge)
And, of course, those of you with spells are welcome to use your action to cast any spell you feel might help. I’ll adjudicate its effectiveness accordingly.
Remember, when you choose to use a skill or cast a spell, please feel free to color your actions a bit so that the rest of your team knows what you are doing and why. It may also help determine what and boons or banes that your group accumulates along the way.
((With that said, enjoy round one of your climb.))
((Peren is putting the finishing touches on the last piton and is still on the glacier this round. After this, you will not likely be using Acrobatics, Athletics, or Survival rolls, but other skills can be used to help accumulate successes or help your allies in subsequent rounds. Also, being at the very bottom of a crumbling glacier, pre-avalanche, isn't really that safe, but someone needs to steady the lower rope for the climbers.))

Thont takes a deep breath to center himself and begins to methodically climb down while looking up every two feet to scan for falling debris, with almost machine-like precision. His hope is to reach the bottom safely so he may help coach and catch his friends.
Kathra eyes the ropes warily for a moment before the continuous sound of rumbling reminds her of their peril. She begins descending, figuring that at the very least if she falls she won't hit anyone on the way down.

Peren rushes to the opening above the water fall and secures the rope for our escape

I need a Survival roll from Peren.
Survival = 14
For Peren:
You think you have a serviceable start to this, however, the glacier wall that you need to apply more spikes to below is cracking apart. You'll have to go down fist and set three more spikes in safe locations.
The rest of you weave and hobble down the collapsing hallway, catching up to Peren who just set the first pitons in place.
Peren starts climbing down the face of the cliff adding 3 more spikes to the wall as It collapses
Survival = 14
((damn rolled the same thing again))
Peren yells to the group, “hurry I am not sure how long these spikes will hold”
I am going to need Athletics rolls from Gavin and Kathra, who are helping Rhudall down the cracking stairs and through this crumbling hallway.
Kathra swears at the sound of the glacier collapsing.

((Wow, such synchronized Athletics prowess....))

Mirabel is sprinting after the group, cursing loudly in Draconic. It's nothing you'd want your Dragonborn grandmother to hear.
((As soon as Thont checks in we'll see about climbing down this collapsing glacier. I'm sure that will be completely safe with no difficulty or poor dice rolls whatsoever.))
((Sorry folks, yeesh you all pile on the check-ins in the middle of the day!))
Thont scrambles ahead and readies rope for what may be a hastily constructed escape.

((Has Peren already finished climbing down?))
Either way, Peren would like to keep an eye on everyone climbing down and look out for falling debree
Perception = 8
