Chara will just stay curled up in the cart for now... she's a bit shaken up even if she wasn't seriously hurt by the melting corpse exploding spores in her face.
Lucian is a bit on edge for the rest of the night following what happened with the strange corps. He is sure someone must have been there. As a result, he keeps his guard up for the rest of the night and the following day.
Realizing that Chara is still a bit shaken after the event, he offers to pull the cart for as long as possible--doing whatever he can to be helpful.
"What is this place?" Lucian asks as they approach the large statues and the gate. He looks up at the massive structures with wide eyes--which grow wider when the gates open of their own accord. "Uh... is that... supposed to happen?"He eyes the gates with newfound suspicion. "Should we just... keep going? Or would it be good for someone to scout ahead?" He hesitates, "...I can go ahead if...if that would be helpful. I'm pretty good at getting away if I need to."
"I guess it's supposed to happen," Chara replies to Lucian, her eyes wide as saucers as she stares at the gate. "Maybe it would be a good idea to send a scout... but honestly... I don't like the idea of sending any one of us off alone. Especially not after last night."
"I don't know, Lucian..." reflects Eithne "If you feel confident, go and scout ahead of us; but I suggest that we don't simply wait here, but follow... so we'll be able to come to you quickly, in case of trouble. You, ahead of us, will still be able to stop and warn us if you spot something amiss".
"I suggest we stick together. Even during the daytime, agents of Strahd lurk everywhere. They would hopefully be more reluctant to attack us if we travel together."
"I suggest we stick together. Even during the daytime, agents of Strahd lurk everywhere. They would hopefully be more reluctant to attack us if we travel together."
"I agree that it is safer to stay together. However, if Lucian thinks he can scout ahead, it might be useful to have a chance to spot problems before you encounter them" reflects Eithne. "I'd let him proceed before us, maybe just 30', stealthy... While we keep an eye on him... If we see him raise a hand towards us, we stop and wait for him to come to us and tell us what he saw. If, on the other hand, we see that he is being attacked, from that distance we can run to him immediately. What do you all think?"
'Hey!' meanwhile realizes the savage stranger 'Thinking about Lucian is no longer triggering the voices in my head... Nor being near him does. Is it because, with him being a werewolf, the other female elves have given up on the idea of talking to him or communicating messages to him for the other male elves?'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Okay, I can do that," Lucian replies. "Thirty feet would be good, then I can just teleport back over if I need to get back to the group quickly."
If no one objects, he will make his way out ahead of them, doing his best to stay hidden from anything that could be coming towards him. As he goes, he scans the edges of the road as well as the walls, just to make sure no one is waiting to ambush them. He pauses briefly before heading through the gate, staying in the shadows as best he can in attempt to avoid detection from whatever could be watching.
Chara considers telling Lucian not to go, but decides against it. Like he said, the elf can teleport back to the group if there's any trouble...
"Be careful," the she-devil tells the elf as he gets ready to scout ahead. "If you get into any trouble I should be able to give you some healing from here or hit an assailant with a magic attack... but... I don't want to see anything happen to you, okay?"
Carefully, with Lucian leading the way, you make your way forward through the enigmatic gate (Lucian: please make a second Perception check so I know what you can see more than 30’ away). After you have passed through, the great doors close behind you with a loud whine, as if something is being crushed in the gears.
You follow the dirt road past a fork to the east, leading to Castle Ravenloft, Strahd’s home. Instead you head to the south, moving along the road as it clings to the side of a mountain and ends before an arching bridge of mold-encrusted stone that spans a natural chasm. Gargoyles cloaked in black moss perch on the corners of the bridge, their frowns weatherworn. On the mountainous side of the bridge, a waterfall spills into a misty pool nearly a thousand feet below. The pool feeds a river that meanders into the fog-shrouded pines that blanket the valley.
It is growing dark, but you estimate you could reach your destination in about three hours if you push on. What would you like to do?
(Will night fall before three hours are up? Chara isn't especially eager to spend another night in the open after what happened last night, but she'd rather camp on the bridge if the other option is to spend a couple hours wandering through the forest in the night just begging to be ambushed.)

“I will,” Lucian says to Chara, giving her a small smile. “Thanks.”

When they come upon the bridge, Lucian looks over the edge with wide eyes. He’s never been so high up before… Shaking his head, he looks over the other side as well, wondering if there could be any sort of traps.
He finds the gargoyles unnerving, but the sound of the waterfall is strangely peaceful. He wouldn’t mind camping on the bridge, but he’ll wait to see what everyone else says.
"I don't think we'll get through the forest before nightfall," Chara replies nervously. "Spending another night in the open isn't really my idea of a good time... but I'll take it over being picked off by whatever is hiding in the forest; at least here we have a good view of anything that decides to come after us."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Since the proposal to camp on the bridge seems to meet no opposition, Eithne prepares to watch over her companions as she did the previous nights.
The savage stranger takes some time to take care of Juhowly, making her eat, making her play, cuddling her and checking her fur (trying to remove dirt or parasites); then, when most of her companions go to sleep, she keeps a constant eye on now one now the other side of the bridge, showing no sign of boredom or drowsiness.
'I wonder if there was a time in my life when I slept more?' the last of the dusk elf maidens idly wonders 'I remember so little from before... from before I heard the voices!' 'I fell asleep so easily, under the pines, after I was there with Haduk and we had done…' begins to comment one of the voices, a youthful and melancholic one. But she doesn't have time to finish, because another more gloomy and hoarse (she almost seems to be clearing her throat, even if she hasn't had one for a long time now) interrupts the previous to advise: 'Don't regret sleep too much, Eithne . All of us, by now, can do nothing but sleep through a long, interminable nightmare'. 'Yeah, sure…' the last of the dusk elf maidens mentally sighs 'Besides talking to me whenever you all want, of course…' Then, trying hard to ignore the rest of her mental buzz (while each of the voices tries to offer its own contribution to their shared wisdom wisdom), the savage stranger concentrates on her guard duty.
'Peace...' her eye falls for a moment on her puppy, who now seems to be sleeping peacefully at her feet 'Will I ever know peace?'
(I believe so... Lucian has no complaints about staying the night on the bridge.)
Finding nothing of concern during his scouting, Lucian falls back with the rest of the company when they decide to set up camp. He has no complaints in terms of camping...though something about sleeping so high up doesn't sit well with him. So, he offers to stay up with Eithne for a while.
"Have you ever been up this high before?" he asks, glancing at the edge of the bridge as he takes a seat next to her. "It kinda makes me queasy looking over the edge." He shakes his head, then looks up at the waterfall, "I've never been afraid of heights before, so I don' know why this would bother me. Maybe I just never knew how high high is." He gives a small laugh, then pulls his blanket over his shoulders.
"Up this high, you say?" Eithne replies, party lost in her own thoughs. She slowly walks to look over the edge.
'So high... So much... free space, open space, air...' the savage stranger leans out more and more 'What if I simply jump down? Would I find peace?'
'Eithne! What are you thinking!?' the voices start to worry.
'Go back, fool! You are the last one of us!'
'The Devil Stradh, with all his evil and his power, failed to wholly silence us... Do you really think you can do better?'
The last of the dusk elf maidens shivers and retreats, one last thought convincing her: 'What if I simply end up like them? A desperate voice with no body, no life... just ethernal sorrow. No, I can not find peace alone. It is all for one and one for all'.
Nonchalantly she sits near Lucian once more: "Well, I admit it is... impressive. No, I don't think I have ever been up this high. Quite a view; it almost made me dream of peace... but one thing is dreaming, another one is achiving. To achive peace, we will have probably a long and difficult path ahead of us".

This is just to note that Barovia is constantly covered in fog and the following rules apply:
Light fog: clear to a distance of 30’, lightly obscured to 60’, after that heavily obscured.
Heavy fog: lightly obscured to 30’, heavily obscured after
Fog Cloud: as described in the spell
Mentioned for scouting purposes. The fog is currently light, but after dusk it will be considered heavy.
