Avaria looks from Marrin to the shark and back to Marrin. "I mean, I don't know? If you don't want me to I won't, I was just trying to find a way to help... and maybe it knows something? I can ask if it's going to eat me." She gives the slightest smirk to that, knowing that it is a serious situation but she just can't help it. So much has happened, that a live, real shark didn't seem that bad to her... though it was ginormous.
She leans over the rail again and speaks in sharkish..
Ethel is flabbergasted. "No, you will absolutely not be going into the water. Are the whole lot of you daft? It's a shark! It's got one of the most primitive brains in the animal kingdom. It's got two simple tasks hardwired in and constantly running... swim and eat. Swim and eat. It doesn't want to talk to you. It wants to eat you!"

"I like your tactic of bribing it, but what is it going to tell us? I'm pretty sure I can convince our chefs to share, but that is, as I pointed out early, a huge shark. Probably will need big bribe. Maybe bigger than we are willing to give up."
"Why do we hope this shark could tell us anything?" Ethel asks. "Just tell it to begone. The ship is made of wood and metal and canvas with no tasty meat or blood. There is nothing here for it. It should take itself elsewhere to hunt."
"I do find the fact that you can speak with animals to be most interesting, though. How did you come to learn that trick?"

Avaria's shoulders slump, she had been hoping this would be well... something. But it seemed to only make more of an issue for everyone than anything else. She nods and leans over the railing again.
In sharkish:
Sorry, I don't taste like fish, I taste terrible. Nothing here for you to eat, best move on to see what else is out there.
She then slumps against the railing and slides down to the floor. Forearms on her knees she looks up to Ethel and shrugs, "Not sure? I'm surprised it worked as I have never done it before, but I could understand the shark, plain as day. Maybe something in my wolf genetics that has awoken with all that we have been through?" She pulls out the necklace she now wears with the eagle feather on it and studies it as she sits there.
The giant shark doesn't respond to Avaria but it appears to have lost interest in the Wish, perhaps deciding there would be too many gum splinters to deal with if it went after the juicy tidbits located on board.
The ship begins to pick up speed as Bigge and the crew find plenty of wind now that the fog is well behind you.
Avaria leans into Marrin's squeeze, really appreciating her friend. She doesn't trust herself to say anything though, and looks to Ethel to start the conversation.
"An over-simplification, perhaps." Jan says, twisting her ring on her finger. "But you've strengths none of us have, and right glad I am to be by your side. That goes for all of you."

As you have whatever conversations you like, the day moves on, a hearty dinner is served, though with much less lamb shank than your goblin chefs would like. As the sun sets, everyone can feel a slight chill in the air. It's not exactly cold, but you can definitely feel that you've been moving north sine you started.
Eventually, just before the last light disappears over the horizon, a dusky, earthen toned dirt fairy appears and settles down next to their master.
--------------------------------------
Everyone can continue what ever conversation they'd like to have, but you all get a long rest as well.
At some point Marrin would have helped the goblins and practiced her language skills while helping clean. Most likely learning words dragon related and repeats of other words she knows but thought had a different meaning.
She will comment to whomever is nearby when the cool breeze comes past,
"I'm not going to lie, I don't appreciate the cold. Give me a nice warm climate any day of the week."
Otherwise, she is waiting for Ethel to get the conversation going. She feels like she is still missing pieces of whatever it is that is going on. The whole dragon cult back in town is being evaluated in a new light now that Jan's prophetic dream is there to consider.
Marrin would also start working on an outline a song about how a valiant bard talked a trio of dragons out of their treasure at sea while also saving the crew of a ship. No song is being written detailing the otherwise bad time had on the Emperor.
Once everyone was together again, Ethel would begin the meeting by trying to layout an outline of everything they know so far.
[With an INT of 20, Ethel would be better and more organized at this than I am... but here is what I can remember or locate from a skim of the campaign.]
The party has been targeted by an enigmatic scholar who seems to think they are connected to a prophecy of some kind.
This scholar is located in the north, but has connections far and wide, including with the Mayor of Spandeliyon.
The Mayor of Spandeliyon has connections with a cult and receives visions, either from other cult members or from some 'other' power.
The pirate/mage Hargrove is in league with a dwarven spy who stole a relic from Hammerdasher's clan. This relic is related to a God of old Mulhorand. Hargrove and the dwarf spy are also in the north. They are also possibly working with lizard folk.
Geffroi has been to Gheldaneth in old Mulhorand. The dead walk there and there are many ancient ruins.
The Empress (the derelict ship) was also out of old Mulhorand and had been crewed by people from there. The blue chest was something of great value to them.
Dragons were attempting to (steal? retrieve?) the chest.
Jan is aware of a vision involving some great shadow rising up from the desert (Mulhorand?).
The plague which took Ethel's family and left her scarred has been, at times, referenced to have originated in the desert somewhere.
Ethel is looking for thoughts, opinions, or anything she has missed.
For now, the plan is to head north first, to follow up on a pair of leads...
Hargrove, with whom they have unfinished business, and the dwarf who stole from Hammerdasher, are up there somewhere.
The scholar who is sending assassins after them is up there somewhere.

Ethel's synopsis as she outlines it to the others is quite thorough and accurate. As she speaks, a few other minor details come to her mind.
The prophecy they have heard of might be found in the pages of "The Chronicles of Years to Come" , a book written by Maglas the Seer. Both Ethel and Geffroi have heard that the original is kept locked away in Candlekeep, but Geffroi also mentioned that there's rumor that another handwritten copy, written by Maglas was securely stored in the Great University in Gheldaneth. The school is mostly ruins now, but the below ground levels under the only Arcanum of Magic are supposed to be intact.
Godrick Hargrove was in possesion of a book with that title. And a book with that title had many pages missing at a bookshop in the Lintoll.
And part of the stolen treasure of Hammerdasher's clan was something that had been entrusted to them for safekeeping - The Dark One's Djed - which might be a key to opening a hidden vault, a map of which you found when going through Godrick Hargroves papers.

Marrin blinks and follows Ava's gaze to the shark.
"The... shark wants you to jump in the water?"
She finally catches on,
"Oh, you are talking, talking with it?"
Looking back at the massive shark,
"It's huge Ava, it clearly wants to eat you. If we taunt it with Ava bait it might get angry and damage the Wish..."
She looks back to Ava,
"But if you REALLY want to try, I'm sure Ula and the rest of us could do it."
She is entirely unsure of this plan.
Avaria looks from Marrin to the shark and back to Marrin. "I mean, I don't know? If you don't want me to I won't, I was just trying to find a way to help... and maybe it knows something? If I come in the water, are you going to eat me?
"It is super fun that you can talk to it, but on the other hand, it definitely wants to eat you."
She looks just as dubious about asking the shark,
"I'm not sure if you can trust it...? Can't you just... bubble yell at it?"
Bigge, Hammerdasher and Geffroi share several glances as Avaria appears to be talking to the giant shark.
To Avaria:
I can always eat. Do you taste like fish?
Ethel is flabbergasted. "No, you will absolutely not be going into the water. Are the whole lot of you daft? It's a shark! It's got one of the most primitive brains in the animal kingdom. It's got two simple tasks hardwired in and constantly running... swim and eat. Swim and eat. It doesn't want to talk to you. It wants to eat you!"

"But is talking to you?"
Marrin double checks.
"Bubble yell? I'm not sure what that is." She listens to the reply, "Yeahh.. he's hungry."
She blushes a bit as Ethel reprimands her. "I uh... was only trying to help, but yeah. You're right. I won't."
Turning back to Marrin, "Yes, it is responding, we have food to throw down at it right? I can promise that to it?"
Hammerdasher looks from Avaria and down to the shark and then back to Avaria.
"There's food below, but I doubt Kriox and Brash want to share it with a shark," Hammerdasher says.
Marrin just gives a shrug.
"I like your tactic of bribing it, but what is it going to tell us? I'm pretty sure I can convince our chefs to share, but that is, as I pointed out early, a huge shark. Probably will need big bribe. Maybe bigger than we are willing to give up."

Marrin sits next to Ava.
"I wouldn't worry too much about where it came from. Some people get it from gods,"
She waves to Ula,
"Some get it from...magic rings."
She waves to Jan,
"Some get it from trying really hard and reading books."
She gives a nod to Ethel,
"The rest of us get it because we're inheritly amazing."
She'll give Ava a squeeze.
She'll look over her shoulder to make sure the shark has left before saying,
"I think we're good for that conversation Ethel."
