Prim and Orion, you notice a young-looking man with pale skin and long, dark black hair and wearing a long, black cloak appear from behind a curtain at the head of the bed. He holds in his left hand a familiar orb. In his right hand, he holds a wand which he waves while uttering something under his breath as is if casting a spell.
Orion, you are still restrained by the black tentacles.
Prim, you are just out of reach of the tentacles.
Taxidea, the goblins and hobgoblins are moving closer.
"Hi Greg. Nice to meet you." Prim chirps cheerfully. "You seem to have gone the Vampire route to longevity instead of Lichdom. MUCH more visually appealing. Thumbs up. We're here to discuss the terms of your surrender. What can we do to convince you to turn against the evil Deities and help us defend Niersala?"
(OOC: Lots of questions based on her Arcana, Investigaton and Perception rolls, so hopefully they don't delay her reaction. Yes, her cheerful greeting was a (probably unsuccessful) attempt to put him off guard. (But just in case, Persuasion 11)
Does it seem like the tentacles are being controlled by Greg's wand or sigils on the floor or box?
Related, does Greg seem to be casting, or concentrating, on a spell?
I'm guessing I can't cast Fireball without getting Orion and myself in the blast radius. Correct?
How about Lightning Bolt? Is the 5 ft narrow enough to slip between me and Orion?
Familiar question. The Find Familiar spell description goes from "familiars can't attack" to "Familiars can deliver touch spell attacks using the Wizard's attack and damage rolls". Which seems contradictory. I'm guessing Hooty can't claw or bite Greg, but what about flapping in his face, or grabbing his wand, to break his concentration? Shouldn't this be known to casters?)
Prim, as you have correctly assumed, Lord Gregory Darek smiles at your greeting while continuing to concentrate on his spell holding Orion. Also, you get the sense that a lightning bolt would be better than a fireball. You could use Hooty as a distraction, but be careful to time your lightning bolt for when your familiar is not too close to the target.
Orion, when it is his turn, will cast Fairy Fire, a 20-foot cube including Greg. Dex saving throw is 14 for him. (This is a verbal only spell, so I assume it can be cast while Orion is restrained)
(According to the spell, familiars get their own initiative so 15 for Hooty (16 if he gets her dex bonus))
Prim telepathically commands Hooty to flap in front of Greg's face and HOOOT!, timing it to the known casting time of Lightning Bolt such that Hooty has flown more than 5 ft away from Greg by the time she blasts him (including probable bounceback distance).
(Note that her Primary Target is NOT Greg, but the Orb he carries. He'll be in the damage area of course, but the last time Prim destroyed an orb, it created a gate, so hopefully Greg falls into it.)
Unless, of course, he dispels the tentacles & surrenders before Hooty's distraction)
I(f Prim was hit by her reflected Lightning & failed her save, she's at -6 hp.
If the save was only for falling through the gate, she telepathically commands Hooty to come through the gate and shouts instructions to Orion & Taxidea at the top of her lungs through the gate. Will post orders if this is the case)
Taxidea’s initiative was 21, Dex save was 8 (rolled on character sheet)
He casts another fireball at the goblins and hobs in the hallway (before his failed dex save?) for 31 points of damage.

Taxidea, if you look behind you after blasting the goblins and hobgoblins, you see Prim fall into portal followed closely by Orion. A tall, young-looking man with long, dark black hair and sparkling green eyes wearing a black cloak stares at you and motions to the portal.

The Dark Lord dodges Orion's Faerie Fire but gets a faceful of feathers from Hooty distracting him. The black tentacles holding Orion dissipate.
Prim's lightning bolt misses the Dark Lord but hits the orb as it rolls towards her. Each of you roll a DEX save.
Taxidea sees three hobgoblins and eight goblins quickly approaching.
Dex save 7
28 pt lightning damage
The orb explodes. A portal opens. Prim falls into it and finds herself back in the room with the professors and the sergeant.
Orion and Taxidea. Roll DEX saves.
I(f Prim was hit by her reflected Lightning & failed her save, she's at -6 hp.

(Ps: Happy New Year)
Prim was not hit by lightning. The orb absorbed the lightning and opened a portal. She fell into the portal created by the orb.
Happy New Year!
Orion DEX save: 26
Orion follows Prim if he is able through the portal.
Does Orion have the case or the Master Orb with him?
If the case is still open, he takes the master orb with him.
