The bugbear in the bushes goes down in flames as it is hit by Taxidea's second firebolt. The other bugbear attacking Taxidea takes a hit from Vrothen. The two on Alora go down as Prim's sleep spell takes effect. (Sorry. I did not see that earlier.) Orion swings over the head of the last bugbear as it falls from his previous hits. (I didn't catch that one either.) Alora easily dispatches the remaining bugbears, including the one on Taxidea.
Taxidea is still laughing as he surveys the carnage. "Awww - was that all of em'? I was just getting warmed up! But I do love the smell of burnt bugbear in the morning - and the world is now a little less big dumb and ugly."

The following day of travel along the road goes well and without incident. As you begin to make camp, however, Orion notices another group of bugbears in the distance.
Taxidea smiles. "Hey Prim - you remember how we talked about Fireballs? If we wait for them to get closer, I may be able to get em' all in one shot. Whatdaya think?"

"I thought about it last night, Taxidea, but fireball is a beacon as well as a high damage spell. I've wondered if it would be possible to cast a fireball at webbed creatures and add burning web damage to the fireball. Keep an eye on the terrain to see if there's visibility to our attack. And does anyone have "detect good or evil?" I've heard rumors of "good" goblinoids."

One strikes at Alora and hits for 19 hp damage. The other goes for Orion but misses. Roll for initiative, if you have not done so already.
Orion attacks the hobgoblin that missed him. Twice with his short sword 9 and 13 - missing.
Alora will expend a psionic defense reaction to block some of the damage.
