Five bugbears are left; the first two look severely wounded while the other three look relatively untouched. They charge into battle:

The one on Orion hits for 16 hp piercing damage.

The one on Taxidea is down.

The wounded one on Vrothen attacks and misses.

The other on on Vrothen attacks and hits for 14 hp damage.

The next bugbear attacks Prim but misses,

and the one on Oskar also misses.

Vrothen attacks the one on him for 10 hp damage. Both of the bugbears on Vrothen are now very bloody.

Orion, Taxidea, and Primrose, then Alora and Oskar.

Orion attacks the bugbear on him twice with short sword.  First is 8 to hit, second is 11 to hit.  He retreats a full 30 feet.

Since there is no Bugbear in melee range, Taxidea will try to keep his distance so he can used ranged attacks and avoid getting hit.  Targeting the ones that are relatively untouched he will cast Chromatic Orb at 3rd Level, (using sorcery points to twin the spell so he can target 2).  "Coming in hot!" he yells.

Bugbear #1 to hit:  12  Damage: 19  (fire damage)

Bugbear #2 to hit: 24  Damage: 21  (fire damage)

Fire bolt, 16 to hit, 13 damage for Prims attack.  Target is the bugbear fighting her if he's awake, otherwise the most damaged bugbear she sees

Orion is severely wounded and retreats. Taxidea takes down the bugbear on Prim, and Prim takes out the one chasing Orion. (Good teamwork, folks.)

Top of the next round: Alora and Oskar, three bugbears are left. Two look like they are about to go down while the third looks untouched and anxious to retreat.

Alora two attack at the ones looking hurt.

Alora takes down two more bugbears.

Oskar, do you want to attack the one trying to run away, or will you let it go?

(OOC Prim's fireball has 150 ft range.  And her fire bolt has 240 ft range.  Just sayin)

Oskar tends to Orion casting lay on hands and healing foe 15 hp. [Pool of 25 hp per long rest].

Okay. Orion is healed by Oskar. Taxidea and Prim, go ahead with your attacks on the retreating bugbear.

Prim casts "Web" on the bugbear if it's within 60 ft, saying "A fire attack should work well now" to Taxidea.

If it's over 60 ft she looks at Taxidea and asks "Fireball?"

Taxidea smiles widely at Prim.  "Hell yeah!" he says.  And then almost reverently casts Fireball.

Dex save DC 14.  Damage on failed save = 24

Orion gratefully thanks Oskar, and scans the vicinity for enemies.  Perception check  3+6=9.  (Passive perception = 16?)

If the final bugbear is down, Taxidea will poke around the dead ones looking for anything valuable.

The web adds five hit points damage to the fireball and Prim helps clean up the area so it isn't as obvious there was a fight.  Dragging bodies into the bushes and stuff. "Best to make it as hard as possible for them to find the missing Patrols",she says.

The fleeing bugbear gets tripped up in Prim's web and blasted by Taxidea's fireball. Orion does not detect any other enemies. The only things found on the dead bugbears are their morningstar weapons. In their money pouches, you find a lot of copper pieces equaling less than one gold, 27 silver pieces, and four platinum coins with the seal of Freeport on them.

Taxidea will pocket the silver and platinum.
