Traydark takes 9 points of necrotic damage as he shrugs of the brunt of the monsters damaging eye.
Unfortunately Khessa is bedazzled by a glinting ray and is now confused. (can’t take reactions until the end of its next turn. On its turn, the target can’t move, and it uses its action to make a melee or ranged attack against a randomly determined creature within range. If the target can’t attack, it does nothing on its turn.)]

Katryl moves back (roughly 30 ft) again trying to understand the spectator. (Insightful Fighting - Insight: 17) She then fires upon the spectator with her shortbow. (Shortbow Attack: 11 Damage: 10; Sneak Attack Dam if hits and if Insightful Fighting successful: 11)
Eldeth moves with Katryl, firing her Longbow at the spectator. (Longbow Attack: 13 Damage: 17) (Longbow Attack: 15 Damage: 13)

Wincing in pain due to the necrotic energies tearing at his frail body, the noble drow snarls and unleashes another purple beam of eldritch crackling force against the aberration.
Unfortunately the beam goes wide of the floating ball of yuck. Even worse, it uses it's reaction to attempt to redirect the missed attack against Khessa! Good news, he misses well wide. (rolled a 2 lol)
The derro on the ridge casts Invisibility and vanishes.
Well, now... The first time we met a Spectator, Khessa tried to cover it with Traydark's cloak - but the move was difficult, because the monster was floating high.
Now Khessa is big, so she has far better reach... Would the move be easier, I guess? She only has to rise her hands with the cloak and place it on top of the monster... What roll should I do to try to cover the monster with Traydark's cloak?
If successful, at least it could not see (and thus target) us anymore... and without hands it would be challenging for it to get rid of the cloak.
Well Traydark has backed up I believe, so you would have to go get his cloak...and if you're in melee at all that could provoke an opportunity attack...how much movement do you have?
As a mere human, Khessa has 30' of movement. She is not yet in melee with the Spectator, because it confused her in round 1 - preventing her from moving. But you have a point; if Traydark went back, then running to burrow his precious cloak might take too much time.
Up to you... If Khessa can run to get the cloak then go to the Spectator and try her move, fine, tell me what should I roll. If you tell me Traydark is too far for this, well, Khessa will be content on trying a common, lame usual attack.
(Anyway, note to self: buy your own d4rn cloak, once back in Gracklstugh... 😉)
yes
(Didn't stepping into full cover help?)
(so you moved back more than 60 ft? Okay. The spectator sics on Katryl then. Katryl make the CON save.)
Traydark Con Save: 4
Khessa's WIS save: 19

Khessa up.
So I must choose... randomly? Well...
1 = Traydark
2 = Katryl
3 = Eldeth
4 = Ebzer
5 = Silas
6 = Derro
7 = Spectator
Rolling 1d7...
And the target is... 7
(Congratulations, Mr Big Ball Clone!)
Khessa seems hesitant and confused while she looks around babbling incoherently: "I... what... who... huh? At-tack something!"
Then, suddenly, the arcane warrior utters a quick incantation and, at the end of an elegant gesture, she sends a fire mote towards the spectator!
Fire Bolt Attack: 20 Damage: 1
(OOC: @DM: Tell me when I can try a new save to end the effect)
(the effect ends at the end of your turn, no save needed)

Katryl seems to begin to understand the strange creature but her attacks still go wide. Eldeth manages to hit with her second shot though!
Ebzer/silas up.
Ebzer swings with his axe but misses the floating ball of disgust.
Silas tolls the dead and gongs the monster for 2 points of necrotic damage.
Traydark up.
