The 4 hallways all look more or less the same, with odd looking markings on the walls, like waves, but it looks like decoration more than anything. Each one goes down a ways and then bends to the left.
Approaching this rough-walled cave you hear the sound of pouring water entering through cracks in the 10-foot-high ceiling. It isn't too hard to conclude that the cracks were caused by the tremor you experienced earlier, and it’s only a matter of time before the water floods the entire complex. It is already up a few inches from where it started, and continues to rise steadily.
"Good..." Khessa sighs "We've found the water - even if it's not the harmless clean and refreshing pool I was hoping for. Now we just have to find an exit. And we only have the other direction to explore , the one with the 4 ways... so let's hope one of them is the right way".
The blonde arcane warrior retraces her steps and, in the room with the 4 ways, numbering them from north to south (1 the most northerly, 4 the most southerly) chooses after, a quick but deep reflection, the...
Katryl pauses briefly in the natural cavern. She glances about a moment. 'If only we had some way to seal off those cracks.' But she knew of no way to do that. And Khessa and the others seemed to have already pressed on in another direction. 'Best to keep moving I suppose.' She moves along after the others to take the other passages.
As Katryl and Khessa begin down the parallel hallways, noting the curious wave-like markings on the walls, Katryl first takes a step before the tile suddenly gives way! In a quick reflex though she manages to grab a hold of the floor as he falls, keeping her from dropping into the 10-ft hole that seems to wiggle and stir down at the bottom.
Khessa is too slow to react however, not processing what she heard perhaps due to the water running elsewhere, but a moment later steps on a loose tile as well and falls down into the 10 ft pit with a squishy thud, taking 3 bludgeoning damage and and 4 acid damage and gets stuck in a hole with a black pudding which angrily stirs up to try and splat the intruder!
Thankfully the pudding is a little too oozey to hit Khessa at first!
Meanwhile, although Katryl didn't fall into her pit, the squishy looking floor appears to be getting closer and closer to her...as another black pudding begins to slick its way out of the pit!
Entering combat:
Katryl, Traydark, Khessa, Silas, Ebzer in that order
Then the puddings will go (A and B. A is by Khessa, B is by Katryl)
If you're looking at the map from earlier, Katryl fell 15 feet into her hall, Khessa fell 20 feet into her hall (3 and 4 squares respectively)
1) the pit Khessa fell into... there is room to avoid the ooze? Or does it fill the whole floor?
2) Khessa was preceded by her Faithful Butler - so I suppose it went ahead without springing the trap. If Khessa throws her rope at him, is there any ledge or other place for him to tie it up?
3) Since, if I well understand, Katryl was following a different way (correct? From how you are narrating, I have the impression that the two are in different halls) there is actually someone who was following Khessa (so that she can throw the rope at him - or have the Butler bring the rope to him)?

1. No the ooze takes up the entire floor (it is 5ft square, 10 ft deep)
2. He can try, but it is a pit trap so there isn't a lot to try and wrap a rope onto
3. Yes you are in the top 2 hallways. No one said they were following you though. Someone could come to your rescue though.

Ok, understood, thank you. I'll think about what to do while Katryl, who is the first, acts.
After the trap sounds, Katryl takes a moment to recover, the grabs her shortbow. She studies the creature a moment (Insightful Fighting - Insight: 7). She then fires down at the creature.
(Shortbow Attack: 20 Damage: 9)
(Sneak Attack Damage, if Insightful Fighting successful and attack hits: 2)
She then tries to get back from the pitas much as she can.
Eldeth, seeing what had happened from behind Katryl, fires her Longbow.
Khessa is too slow to react however, not processing what she heard perhaps due to the water running elsewhere, but a moment later steps on a loose tile as well and falls down into the pit.
The blonde arcane warrior is also so intent, in the surprise of the moment, on trying (in vain) to cling to a handhold, that she forgets to cast the spell that could slow her fall! That's how she hits the bottom, with a squishy thud, feeling her bum sore from the blow... and from an unexpected burning.
'There's acid in here!' the tall adventuress thinks in alarm – but she soon realizes, thanks to the light that the Faithful Butler, from above, is still casting (helpful as ever), that the situation is worse.
'Acid is black... and it moves!' realizes Khessa, while the black pudding she's got stuck in a hole with angrily stirs up to try and splat her!
"I fell into a pit trap, friends!" the blonde arcane warrior informs, as she frantically weighs her options "And there's a self-moving black acid ooze inside that's not hospitable at all!"
'With oozes, the best strategy is always to take advantage of mobility, keep them at a distance and destroy them without letting them get close...' the tall adventuress recalls 'Too bad that, at the bottom of a 5' square 10' deep pit, my mobility is not exactly the same as always! Come on, Khessa... An idea... Quickly, an idea...'
Meanwhile, her companions ... (OOC: It's not Khessa's turn yet ...)
As the tunnel floor suddenly gives way, the noble drow steps closer, using his newly acquired black rod, it's purple eldritch symbols pulsating with power as he points it to the closest black sludge, swiftly cursing it before unleashing a purple beam of eldritch crackling force against it.
Seeing the monstrous black horror looming over her, Khessa finally has the idea that allows her to regain the distance she needs: 'Hey! The edge of the pit... it's not that high... considering how tall I am! If I jump and extend my arms...' (*)
Taking good care not to get distracted for a single moment (so as not to leave openings the ooze could exploit to attack), the tall adventurer quickly flexes her long legs, bouncing, then pushes with all the explosive power of her lower limbs, performing a standing high jump that easily leads her to reach the edge of the pit with her hands.
At that point, the blonde arcane warrior hauls herself out completely: "The guy downstairs has a really bad temper..." she pants, partly for the fright of having almost been engulfed and dissolved, partly for the effort to pull herself up quickly "But now that the situation is different, I think I'll try to teach him manners!"
Khessa smiles confidently, feeling invigorated to have once again escaped a lethal pitfall (OOC: She uses her Second Wind to heal herself a little)
(*)OOC: I'm using standard jump rules - I expect it to work - references in spoiler
OK, I think I'll use the jump rules this time (see Player's Handbook, chapter 8, section Movement):
High Jump. When you make a high jump, you leap into the air a number of feet equal to 3 + your Strength modifier (minimum of 0 feet) if you move at least 10 feet on foot immediately before the jump. When you make a standing high jump, you can only jump half that distance. Either way, each foot you clear on the jump costs one foot of movement. In some circumstances, your DM might allow you to make a Strength (Athletics) check to jump higher than you normally can.
You can extend your arms half your height above yourself during the jump. Thus, you can reach above you a distance equal to the height of the jump plus 1 1/2 times your height.
Now, Khessa's strength modifier is 3 and she must do a standing jump (because I don't see how a 5 'pit could allow a 10' run). She therefore has an elevation of (3 + 3) / 2 = 3'.
Khessa, as I always describe her, is particularly tall. I imagine her to be even 6.5' (From Player's Handbook, Chapter 2, section Human Traits: "Size. Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall"), but even if she were only 6' tall, with the arms she could reach 6x1.5=9'.
Adding up the elevation and the distance that she reaches with her arms, she gets 3+9=12'... so she can successfully jump and cling to the edge of the pit. She doesn't even need a check for this, because it's not a great performance from her… it's something she can do normally.
So, Khessa takes the Disengage and, with her movement jumps and drags herself out of the pit.
"Let's take the one to the left first. If that doesn't work then it's back here to go through these others," Katryl suggests.

And the blond arcane warrior leads to the left.
