You all watch as Lulu instantly disappears into the dark void.
Lulu:
You suddenly find yourself standing in what you can only surmise is a labyrinth of some kind. Tall stone walls reach up toward a black starless sky. A faint flicker of torchlight illuminates a wall further down. The air is quiet and dry, neither hot nor cold. You are also reasonably sure that this is not where Horkas ended up, as the spells were different in their working.
Katryl had come over to look at the statute and hidden door. She hadn't really had any helpful thoughts though on how to find Horkas. So she watched as Khessa opened the door to the void. As the group is still taking a look, she gasps as the firbolg just heads in. "Lunaria!" As a panicked look comes over her face, she dashes after her.
You appear next to Lulu, standing in what you can only surmise is a labyrinth of some kind. Tall stone walls reach up toward a black starless sky. A faint flicker of torchlight illuminates a wall further down. The air is quiet and dry, neither hot nor cold. You are also reasonably sure that this is not where Horkas ended up, as the spells were different in their working.
Katryl breathes a sigh of relief as she sees Lulu. Then immediately the orange strands in her hair start to glow brightly. "Lunaria! What in the world were you thinking!" Her words definitely sound a bit scolding. Her attention focused on the firbolg, she doesn't really start to take stock of her surroundings much.
Lulu gazes up at the dark sky above for a long moment. Perhaps a similar teleportation magic could be found at the end of the maze? One that could take her to wherever Horkas was sent. But could she find the center of a labyrinth on her own? She should have told the others her reasoning behind jumping in. Katryl is surely--
"Katryl?" Lulu gasps as the other woman appears beside her--tail, ears, and fur all standing on end like a startled cat. "Oh, love, ye did no' need to follow. I was goin' to Send word back. Though, in retrospect," Lulu scratches at her furry cheek, having at least the decency to look contrite, "I probably should've told ye that before jumping in."
Katryl seem taken aback when she says she didn't need to follow. "Didn't need to follow? What if there is some dangerous creature here. Or you had fallen into a trap?" If anything, the glowing strands in her hair seem to brighten. "Listen, if you are going to go leaping off into a void, I'm going to be right there with you! Now where are we? I suppose we should figure out how to get out of here."
"Aye, well... ye've a point there," Lulu agrees with a small chuckle. "''spose sometimes the Fey in me fights against the wisdom. Especially where the people I care for are concerned."
The cleric quiets, though, when Katryl says she'll always be right there with her, far more taken aback by that than her scolding tone. She almost quips back if everyone jumped off a bridge, would you, but decides not to make light of her worry and promise. Instead, she picks up a strand of glowing hair and lets it run through her fingers and levels an apologetic--if somewhat wry--smile at her. "One of these days, I'll figure out a way to make ye glow that doesn't involve me bein' a right fool."
Turning to look again at their surroundings, Lulu puts both hands on her armored hips in puzzlement. "But yer right, we need to figure the way out of here. Ye've a better mind than me for puzzles like a labyrinth, but... if we get stuck I could ask my Goddess for help. Let me just quickly Send a message to our companions."
((Lulu will cast Sending (which should work across planes, right?) to let Traydark know where they ended up, leaving it up to him and Khessa if they want to follow or wait where they are.))
Katryl freezes a bit as Lulu picks up a strand of her hair. The bright glow seems to start to fade from it as she lets it run through her fingers. The genasi seems to note the firbolg's smiles, and there is a faint smile on her face in return. "Uhh... you are never a fool Lunaria." As she says it, there does seem to be a different sort of faint glow from all over her grey skin. "Yea, shouldn't we be finding a way out of here?" she says quickly, looking away to focus on the hallway. "Let's move towards that light. I should be able to keep an idea of the place in my head, but we've got to see it first!" She pauses, "Well, after you contact the others."
The noble drow stands frozen in place as first the firbolg and then the genasi steps into the unknown void. He would have preferred caution but admittedly he hadn't any idea what else to do. Also he had a strong sense they needed to press on to rescue Horkas and find Gromph's grimoire so he gives the human a weak smile and a shrug. "Shall we?"He says plainly before stepping into the darkness...
"Well, both Lulu and Katryl went..." Khessa ponders "I'm not fully convinced it's not a trap; but on the other hand, the other traps were more... indidious, less obvious. I would have preferred a divination, to a 'leap of faith' but... Oh, well, given the situation," she seeks his hand "let's just do it" and she enters with him.
Lulu's message begins to go through right as Traydark and Khessa step into the void...
You appear next to Lulu and Katryl, standing in what you can only surmise is a labyrinth of some kind. Tall stone walls reach up toward a black starless sky. A faint flicker of torchlight illuminates a wall further down. The air is quiet and dry, neither hot nor cold. You are also reasonably sure that this is not where Horkas ended up, as the spells were different in their working.
"Well," Khessa points out "there is no ceiling... so Anator should be able to fly above the level of the walls and see if there are points of interest - or an exit - and guide us".
And with that, the blonde arcane warrior summons her brother and sends him to this task.
"Been there, done that, aye?" Lulu smiles back to Traydark, then watches as the little bat familiar flies off. "Hopefully no minotaurs in this one. Though likely no' any gnomes either."
"Do ye reckon this wee side plane could be Dispelled? Or perhaps a Circle of Power might distort the magic used to create it?" As they move towards the light as Katryl suggested, Lulu tries her best to recall the arcane knowledge she's learned over the years and from her artificing friend. It's clearly a difficult task for the not-so-book-smart firbolg.
((Arcana check for if those spells could work? 14. Not as bad as it could've been with her -1 lol!))
With all the others arriving, Katryl remains focused on heading down to where she can see light. (Perception: 11) She tries not to go too far until Khessa's familiar can scout out above. If that is even possible.
Anator reports that the maze seems endless, expanding in every direction, with no obvious visible markers anywhere.
Lulu isn't sure, magic of this caliber seems beyond her ken at the moment. It's always possible that doing something is better than doing nothing, but she has no idea what effect spells might have in this place.
"It looks like we've ended up in an 'endless' maze..." Khessa sighs, reporting what Anator sees "Which is rather discouraging, since the time we have available is certainly not 'endless'. The only thing I can think of is to let Dawn's blade of light swipe the ground as we go... That way, her intense radiant power will burn the floor and we'll avoid going back over the same path twice".
"But if this construction really does extend, as my brother claims, for a distance greater than the eye can see," the blonde arcane warrior is clearly frustrated "probably even if by chance we were to always follow the right path, it would take us a long time to get out. Most likely, that's not what makes the most sense to do - it seems like a desperate (if not futile) effort. But I really can't think of anything else..."
"We do have our cloud forms if needed to traverse above the walls quickly. But... give me just a moment, friends," Lulu says when they reach the light. She's less worried about getting to the end and more about breaking the plane itself if possible. She's seen before what happens when Horkas overfills his Poppins bag. "I'm no' certain this will work, but let's see if I can't diffuse the magic that's sustaining this spell." She chuckles as it almost sounds like she knows what she's talking about. She doesn't, but doing something feels better than doing nothing.
The cleric ensures that her companions will be encapsulated in the radius of the spell and begins to chant in musical tones of Sylvan. Quietly at first, as a divine aura glows about her. Then her voice grows louder and so, too, does the divine energy expand until it encircles them completely in the power of her Goddess' domain.
((Using her only 5th level spell slot to cast Circle of Power. YOLO right? lol!!))

[[ OOC: well, that's great and I hope it does something, but I'm not too convinced... we are not making saving throws, at the moment... ]]
Khessa intently watches the holy firbolg cast her spell, fascinated by the clash betwen the two powerful magical forces.
