Khessa notices the look of mad terror that his friend duergar addresses to the approaching monstrosity and thinks: 'Damn it! I was hoping to escape with the boat before Mr Lemon-Demon reaches us… but Ebzer is terrified, he will never come that way!'
"So be it!" the blonde arcane warrior agrees "Then back to the tunnel we came from!" and urges all to run without wasting time.
Along the way, the tall adventurer checks that none of her companions are left behind (the terrified ones have no problems following, right? We're going the opposite way from the monster! Anyway, if they try to stop, Khessa drags them along) and also exhorts all followers of the Sea Mother (not the ones of Mr Lemon-Demon) she passes by to follow her or, at least, to flee: "Run away! It is not a god who comes to be worshipped... but a monster that comes to feed! Don't just stand there!"
(A frightened creature must spend its movement moving away from the source of terror. In this case the demon obviously. So I would rule as long as you are moving away from the demon they can be taken with you)
Oh, I was forgetting Buppido! His Wisdom saving throw: -2
Buppido retreats into his mind and becomes paralyzed. The effect ends if the character takes any damage. Lasts for 10 minutes otherwise.
The unfortunate derro had heard Khessa say, perhaps worried but not particularly shaken "I have to say that I preferred it in its 'pile of carcasses' version, rather than live!"
So he turns back, bold: "Don't worry, Khessa! I'm here to defend you! Let me see if is really that bad, this..."
But he doesn't finish the sentence: his eyes widen, as does his mouth, his hair stands on end, stiff, on his head, while his face deforms in the purest expression of terror that the blonde arcane warrior has ever seen!
When she urges everyone to flee towards the tunnel, the tall adventuress realizes that poor Buppido does not react.
Immovable, she just raves: "Leeeeeee ... Leemooooooooooooo ... Leemooggoogoon! Leemooggoogooooooooooooon!"
Khessa tries to pull him: "It's time to go, Buppido! I know you want to face Mr Lemon-Demon to defend me, but it's not the time now, come with us!"
The other still doesn't react so the blonde arcane warrior, convinced that there is no time to lose, makes good use of her physical power and promptly loads him on her shoulder, carrying him like a sack of potatoes towards safety. She's already leaving, when she nearly trips over Silas, passed out on the ground.
'What have they got, everyone!' she thinks in exasperation, while she loads the tabaxi on her other shoulder and continues to try to bring herself, her friends, plus as many faithful followers of the Sea Mother as possible to safety. 'Tonight, I can spare myself the physical training'.
Then she happen to look at Traydark, who, she finds with relief, at least, isn't showing signs of breaking down physically or mentally: 'Well, we'll see… maybe not really all the physical training'.
Ebzer is suddenly gripped with mortal fear at the sight of the demon lord!
(Under the frightened condition for the next 3 minutes AND now at madness level 1)
As the duergar continues to gaze at the hideous giant, the hairs on his arms and neck prickle and he breaks out in a cold sweat. His stomach suddenly feels hollow and he senses the need to vomit, but nothing is there to expel. He turns his back to the demon, and hisses "Fly, you fools! If you linger, your death is certain!" and with that he sprints for the tunnel opposite the one they entered the cavern by.
Katryl will follow after Khessa, though as she notices Eldeth's condition, she tries to usher her in the same direction as well. "Do we want to go back? Or to go the opposite direction? I definitely agree now is not the time to get out on the lake!"
Sarith's eyes goes wide with fear as the massive demon emerges from the Darklake and turns to follow Ebzer towards the southern tunnel. Traydark looks around quickly to make sure no one is left behind, ushering along Stool and Shushaar, but as the blonde arcane warrior carries away both Buppido and Silas he swiftly follows towards the southern tunnel, ready to use his drow magic to cover their escape.
(Ready to use Silent Image to cover the groups excape should they run into raving mad Kuo-Toa on their way out of Sloobludop.)
The city is in absolute chaos now! Some kuo-toa continue to welcome the terrible demon lord with their haunting chant of "Leeemooooggoorggoooooon!!!!" and others are running for whatever cover they can find, and a few even attempt to flee out on the water, only to be smashed by the raging lord's flailing tentacles!
But worse still, some of them shake violently, making ungodly noises before suddenly mutating into tentacled, writhing masses, horrifying abominations of their former selves!
Including Shuushar.
It was 300ft from the shrine to the city gate. With all this going on and messed up party members, I'll say you all made it 50ft this round, leaving 250ft to go before the demon makes it.
Khessa at first thinks that tiredness is playing a trick on her, but then she realizes: 'No, I'm not that tired... yet I keep seeing this nightmarish scene! Lots of kuo-toa are Lemon-Demonizing themselves! Including Shuushar! Is it because they secretly adored Mr Lemon-Demon? Or is it simply an effect they couldn't resist? Either way, they're probably a danger now... and we don't know if and how they can be helped. Therefore...'
"Straight on our way!" the blonde arcane warrior incites everyone, continuing to move at the maximum speed that the slowest of the group can sustain "Leave alone who is transforming, there is nothing we can do about it, plus we do not have time to waste! Hurry!"
'I will send you back to the abyss from which you were vomited, Mr Lemon-Demon...' the tall adventuress finds, in the meantime, the time to think '...You cannot be allowed to run around doing this... I don't know how yet... nor I do know when... But I will find a way to dispose of you. You have no right to exist. Not here, at least'.
Heart beating wildly, cold sweat dripping from his forehead, Ebzer continues to dash toward the southern tunnel entrance. He tries, mostly successfully, to stifle the wail of terror that keeps forcing itself up from his vocal cords. Keep moving forward, don't look back, he thinks. It has hundreds of distractions, it can't have noticed you. Just... Run!
Seeing Shushaar transform and wanting to avoid the same gruesome fate, the noble drow hastens his light steps, hurrying along with the others. As does the panicking Sarith.
Katryl continues to try to quickly leave while leading Eldeth. "Guys! We really need to pick up the pace. Can anyone grab Eldeth? I don't think I can carry her and I think she's slowing us down!" If possibly, she pushes herself to run fast, and tries to get Eldeth to do the same - an increase even if it still isn't up a normal pace.
(OOC - Just realized you said Eldeth can only go half normal movement in OOC channel. Is that our limiting factor?)
"I still do not have a third shoulder!" grunts Khessa "Maybe... Traydark, you can try to scare Eldeth in running faster, with one of those illusions of yours?"
The struggle continues as you hear the thrashing behind you out on the water get closer and more intense! Kuo-toa are exploding, screaming and in all manner going as mad as can be! You keep making your way to the south gate, carrying, dragging and cajoling your party members on toward relative safety, in a desperate attempt to flee the town before the terrible demon lord arrives and all hope is lost!
Feel free to make a perception check in your next post!
And Wis save for Sarith: 6
(And don't worry about Buppido, derros are already mad as hatters ;-)
Eldeth fails: experiences vivid hallucinations and has disadvantage on ability checks for the next 9 minutes
Failure: Silas is knocked unconscious for the next 10 minutes
(A frightened creature must spend its movement moving away from the source of terror. In this case the demon obviously. So I would rule as long as you are moving away from the demon they can be taken with you)
Failure: Frightened as well for 2 minutes

Khessa's perception: 1
Traydark perception: 19
Sarith is simply in panic and notices nothing.
Both are simply running towards the exit to the tunnels.
