Silas runs to the edge of the web, dives into the water below, is stung by the ooze, and makes his ways as quickly as he can to the shore. Looking like, we'll, a wet cat, he says, "Well, that was exciting, wasn't it? Pity about the twins though. Shall we leave?"
As Shuushar begins making his way down the western tunnel, headed to settlement of Sloopludoop by the Darklake, Khessa proceeds with the scimitar in one hand, the drow lantern from the prison in the other, and her soaked clothes still on.
The blonde warrior tries to keep herself in a central position in the group, given her momentary condition of extreme vulnerability. However, she is in a very good mood to have finally escaped drow captivity for the second time in her life!
"Don't be down, dear slavers..." she murmurs, as she walks away (imagining she is addressing the drow) "You'll do better next time. Third time's a charm, you know..."
As you check each other and start heading toward the west tunnel, you hear shouts from behind you, as a party of drow descends the lift, intent on pursuing you! (You did hit the lift, but not enough damage to stop it) Luckily for you, just as you duck into the tunnel a vrock falls from the ceiling in front of the drow party, giving you just a few more moments to make your escape!
Now it is time to pick a buddy to travel with. You will act and play them out unless I need to overrule or correct it for some reason. Assume that in most cases the NPCs will act rationally, they are not murder hobos. :)
I will need 2 marching orders, 1 for single file, 1 for a normal 2 abreast.
I need to know how fast you wish to travel: slow, normal, or fast. Going quicker can get you places faster sure, but it is harder to spot food and traps and such. Going slower is the opposite, taking longer to get places but easier to find food and such. Note that because Eldeth survived, your group does get a +5 bonus to all survival checks.
You will need to keep track of your supplies/rations (I'm not worried about ammunition). It may be possible as well to craft weapons and armor if you wish, assuming you can find suitable materials and make the time to do it.
(Oh, well, Guiding bolt would have not damaged the lift, for the same reason Traydark's Eldritch blast was not able to damage chains: targets creature, not object)
I take Buppido.
As for marchibg orders, like already stated, Khessa will stay in the middle of the group for now, in both cases. Let's say she is in 2nd line when abreast, in 3rd place when single line.
Speed she proposes fast for now, because she has rations and we need to leave the drow behind (until we find a suitable place to ambush them). But if others need a slower pace, fine with everything.
(I will take Eldeth. And I'm fine with the marching order proposed by Oberon in OOC discussion. I'm ok with fast pace to start to try to put distance from the drow. But my preference would have been normal pace probably. At the very least we should not keep going fast for too long.)
(OOC Marching order proposed is fine. I am also good with whichever of the NPCs, since my orc-buddy got to redeem himself with a glorious death in battle. And I agree with Culuril about the pacing).
(And Ebzer has 5 days of rations in his inventory)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes, we should make haste to put some distance to Velkenvylve. Mistress Ilvara will surely come after us as soon as those demons are dealt with. We will probably have to slow down to find food eventually as it is 8 days to Sloopludoop but let's keep moving swiftly for now."Traydark says impatiently to the surviving group of escapees, urging them on into the darkness. As the group eventuelly form up into a column the noble drow quickly approaches Sarith to ask the drow to arm him with his hand crossbow, for now, which the lowborn drow a bit reluctantly agrees to.
As they move through the tunnels, Traydark keeps a good look out for any threats, which there are in abundance he expects. Perception: 20 He will also make frequent use of his dancing lights to reveal any hunters of the underdark.
At the first necessary break he would immediately use his highborn magic to rid himself of filth, the one defiling his exquisite clothes. When they eat he would use the same magic to flavor his ration to the taste of his favourite food back home in Menzoberranzan.
As they make their way west towards Sloopludoop, Traydark ponders the strange things that has started happening, his unusual dream, the seemingly uncontrolled demons attacking Velkenvylve, the voice in his head as he was in the water. Surely it was all connected somehow.

"Mistress Ilvara herself?" Khessa raises an eyebrow, doubtful "Would the outpost commander leave it in person, leaving another one to command in her place, risking her life and wasting her time, only to chase a handful of fugitives? Isn't she more likely to send a squad of guards, at most commanded by her current lackey?"
"But anyway... those demons who attacked the outpost..." she asks this time to all of her companions that are born in the Underdark "...is this normal? I mean, is it normal that demons run free in the Underdark? Or was it an exceptional event?"
"Yes, well, I didn't mean that literary, although in this case there might not be much of an outpost left to command." The noble drow says with a smirk, relishing in Mistress Ilvara's misfortune and failure, one that definitely would not go unnoticed by her beloved spider queen. Mistress Ilvara might get desperate to save face though and that would make her an even more dangerous enemy. "No, demons are not unheard of, but they would be under the control of some priestess or powerful wizard and not in an apparently roaming flock like this." He continues with a troubled look. "It is a disturbing thought but I believe we must be prepared to encounter more demons, and when we do, be aware that we cannot fight them, they are simply too powerful." He says grimly before continuing.
"Actually, if there was no longer an outpost to command, I wouldn't expect the drow to be in a position to send someone after us... they'd be mostly dead, right?" reflects Khessa "Since they sent a patrol after us, I fear that the demons may have done some damage, but in the end they were defeated".
"Anyway, I totally agree with avoiding them. Let's just hope" jokes the blonde warrior, smiling "that they too agree with being avoided!"
After some time of silence, the tall adventurer, since Traydark seems to be the one who most likely (or most eagerly?) replies to her, speaks to him again: "Can I ask you for information on the management of slaves by the drow? If I wanted to find prisoners... slaves... people who weren't kept on the outpost with us, but who were captured by drow at another time... Where am I most likely to find them? They are usually kept in drow service in some Underdark town... or are they more often sold elsewhere, for example on the surface, perhaps to the Zentharim or some other criminal organization? I know this is a vague question but..." those blue eyes that do not detach for a moment from those of the interlocutor betray how important for the woman is the question "... but could you give me an idea, an opinion, a best bet? What would be their most probable destination?"
The noble drow gives the tall blonde a sly smile. "That would depend on the slave I would say. Most humans are too frail by underdark standards to work the mines, the ones who end up there does not last long. Those who possesses youth and beauty might serve as some noble's or merchant's pleasure, but that would be fairly uncommon. Some others are used as sacrifice to the Lolth in our temples. I don't believe there is any real demand for human slaves in Menzoberranzan though, which is making the humans a fortunate race I would say. I'm sure the slavers doesn't care to capture slaves just to be sold off to the Zhentarim. Oh yes, I've heard of this organization, they have some presence in the underdark I believe but the drow rarely does business with humans, simply because they don't have anything to offer that we need from them."The noble drow pauses briefly, his purple hues studying the blonde human intently before continuing. "It must be someone important indeed to have you think of them while your own life is still in great peril Khessa. I suggest you come back with me to Menzoberranzan eventually. There is your best hope of finding them, or at least any record of where they are being kept. But you should be prepared for the worst, as I said, the humans doesn't last long down here. I have a feeling you would be the exception though." He finishes, using his magic to remove some of the dirt from the blonde warrior's face with a gentle motion of his dark slender hand.
"It is very kind of you to help me, Traydark" Khessa murmurs, her voice barely coming out due to the surprise of the drow's offer, that drow that she believed so much... focused on himself. "I will definitely come back with you to Menzoberranzan eventually".
"It's about..." the blonde warrior hesitates for a moment.
'Do I really want to confide in a drow?! However, he offered to help me even before I asked him - which is great, because I probably wouldn't have asked him. I never thought he could accept. Take an interest in someone else. But instead... Maybe, the point is that I have to stop seeing him as a drow. He is not an abstract entity. An anonymous member of a race. He is Traydark. He is an individual. A person. With his characteristics, his history and his choices. And, apparently, one of his choice is to offer me some help. Yes, I want to trust him!'
"It's about my family, Traydark" reveals the tall adventurer. "They are the people I love most in the world. I will do everything to free them. Or at least to know what happened to them, should I come too late".
"I..." Khessa doesn't quite know how to continue, with her blue eyes locked in the purple hues of Traydark. Traydark, who meanwhile made that kind gesture, with his so slender hand... "...I have no words to thank you for your offer, Traydark. So I'll thank you with deeds. I'll help you too, for whatever you need - as long as it's not gratuitous cruelty, of course... but the more I know you, the less likely I think this scenario is. I'll help you in any way, if you need me. Both before and after our Menzoberranzan adventure".
With a sudden decision, the blonde warrior covers the distance that separates them with a step and embraces him with gratitude.
'Ooopps ...' she thinks, when it's already too late 'This way I'm dirtying him again?! No, I just wet him... The dip in the underground river had already washed almost everything away from me thankfully!'
"Thank you" she smiles one last time, before resuming her place in the formation.

They were chasme and vrock demons. No idea who the faceless lord is right now.
It's been 4 days...Leaving behind the cries of the drow pursuers you head off into the foreboding Underdark, on a desperate run to a hopefully more welcoming civilization. The trip is difficult, even for those of you who are accustomed to being in the Underdark, that path full of twists and turns, narrow tunnels vary with huge caverns. Strange plants and sounds are seen and heard on a regular basis almost, echoing madly throughout the earthen walls. It is a dismal time, made worse by the need to push and press on, and seeing nothing but darkness spared by the rare glowing fungi or such. You don't see many other threats, thankfully, although the possibility of running into one or being caught weighs heavily every day.
(DM note: I will be summarizing most of the travel into chunks, so we don't have to do 25 days of checks just to get somewhere. I'll mention how many days, and feel free to RP anything you wish to do during that time. Suffice to say walking around isn't the most exciting thing usually so I'll try to keep that moving as much as possible.)
The noble drow flinches as the tall blonde human embraces him, quickly collecting himself after the unexpected act of human gratitude. "I'm...I'm not sure you will thank me as we get there. Menzoberranzan is an unforgiving place, particularly for surface dwellers such as your parents." He says as Khessa releases him. "With the brief life expectancy of humans, even those who doesn't face the cruel realities of the underdark, you can't hope to find your parents still alive, Menzoberranzan will only hold pain for you." He finishes with a warning, giving the blonde human a last look with his curious purple eyes before letting out a sigh and shaking his head as he starts to clean himself up again.
Katryl walks along quietly at first. It is almost imperceptible, but thin whisps of steam seem to come off her wet clothes. After Khessa's conversation with Traydark, she speaks in a low, quiet voice to her. "You didn't seem able to find your gear. I have an extra dagger if that would help?"
During the 4 days of travel, Katryl spends time talking briefly with the others. She isn't particularly chatty, usually engaging in just brief talk. "What can we expect to find at this Sloopdoop place?" she asks, to whoever might answer.
She also comments to others, especially when Traydark or Sarith are not within earshot, "Menzoberranzan seems a foolish place to go to. Wouldn't we just be placing ourselves back into our original captor's hands?"
"Oh, thank you Katryl!" Khessa opens her blue eyes wide in surprise "Yes, unfortunately it seems that the drow had the same tastes as me in terms of armor and weapons... I could not find mine, they must have kept them".
She reaches out to take the offered dagger and holds it in reverse grip, trying it in combination with the scimitar.
"It's a combat technique I'm not used to, but I know the basics and I know it's effective... I'll adapt to it," the blonde warrior smiles bright at the genasi "considering that the weapons I'm used to are not available! I'll still be a little more dangerous than with the scimitar alone".
"Thank you very much!" the tall adventurer passes her arm over the other's shoulders as a sign of affection and gratitude.
(Does she feel anything in particular? Is Katryl hotter than a normal woman? Does Khessa get burned?)
...She also comments to others, especially when Traydark or Sarith are not within earshot, "Menzoberranzan seems a foolish place to go to. Wouldn't we just be placing ourselves back into our original captor's hands?"
"I don't think we'll be heading to Menzoberranzan, my friend" Khessa marvels, the first time she hears Katryl mention it. What is the rogue thinking? The goal of the journey is the surface, isn't it?
Then she realizes where the misunderstanding may have originated: "Ah, did you hear me and Traydark talking about that place? That's a tour we have in store not for now, but for... later! It is... it's a journey that we will do for me. I agree with you that it is a foolish place to go to; but you saw me, before, trying to hook a rope to some giant cobwebs with the intention of climbing it, headed to the place we had just escaped from, full of drow, demons and spiders... just to save a cat!" she winks at her "This should have brought you to understand that, when there is a purpose that I am really concerned with, I am not afraid to take particularly stupid decisions".
During the 4 days of travel, Khessa keeps her eyes open for everything... not only possible dangers; she is also curious and interested about the strange plants or the rare glowing fungi she spots. She tries to remember if she had already encountered them during her first escape from the Underdark (OOC: said escape is part of her backstory) or if knows something about them anyway.
The blonde warrior is ready to chat with practically anyone who wants to, curious to learn more about all of her adventure companions.
When Traydark uses magic in some way (dancing lights to illuminate dark corners or cantrips to clean clothes or flavor foods...) the tall adventurer is inevitably very interested! She is very careful what gestures the drow does, what magic formulas he uses... she also asks to be taught, every now and then, often comparing what she is told with some arcane notes she has with her... She stubbornly tries to cast some spell, with no less insistence than the one with which she trains to perfect herself with the weapons, but for now her efforts in the field of magic turn out to be completely unsuccessful.

You come across some mushrooms that are about 4-5ft tall with broad, gray-green caps and light gray stalks. It takes some discussion among you, but eventually you all decide this is Trillimac. The cap’s leathery surface can be cut and cleaned for use in making maps, hats, and scrolls (its surface takes on dyes and inks well). The stalk can be cleaned, soaked in water for an hour, then dried to make a palatable food akin to bread. This is a dense bunch, likely able to give you about 10lbs of food when you're done.
