She had to pay more attention to the surroundings! Mirelda reported fires (that she felt as tickling spots) and turned her attention to the stars, in case another obstacle was about to hit the ship.
(Oh, looks like Warren's doing a great job then. Heh heh)
"GET THOSE FIRE'S OUT!" Warren yells the order despite the fact that his crew is likely already trying to do just that. The dragonborn glances around readying his new gun so he can shoot at any eels coming his way. He will also look for a way to put out any fires in his immediate proximity.
The crew acts fast with Warren's spotting out the fires. He orders them swiftly to and about the ship, easily dousing any fires. Mirelda carefully steers the ship around the eels, sensing when their outbursts may spark another fire, avoiding them. Once the space eels are a safe distance away, the ship resumes its journey, traveling rapidly at spelljamming speed. After another minute in this simulated state, the ship arrives at its destination, where you find the marooned ship in a field of asteroids.

Mirelda slowed down their Hammerhead studying the wreckage. "Guess this is the ship we have to get the Captain's journal from. Want me to get closer, Captain? There might not be air left if the pilot is dead, so, we have to share ours with the ship to move on the deck."

Muck moves to the side of the ship that is closet to the derelict and tries to see if anything is still moving on the ship or if anything seems odd about it.
The ship slowly heads forward, taking its time to navigate through the field of asteroids. Yet the number of asteroids present a problem, too many come into Mirelda's view, only noticing one has strayed too close as it collides with the ship. It scrapes along the hull before it flies off in the other direction. Mirelda can feel the damage upon the ship as it feels like a deep gash upon her thigh.
But the derelict is now in sight, its shattered hull in pieces with a silvery dust clouding its remains. The logbook should be somewhere among that wreckage, the question is where and how to get it.
"Ouch!" For someone so eager to join the competition, Mirelda did not demonstrate her best performance today. She bit her lower lip concentrating on maneuvering the ship in a way, that would allow (preferably) walk from their deck to the deck of the crippled ship, or at least close enough for some other means to reach the captain's cabin.
Too bad the ship was imaginary and Mirelda had to use her own senses instead of magically enhanced ship's radars. She tried her best, though: Perception: 19
"If someone can tell me where to the logbook is, I can go over to it as I can hold my breath for an hour. You can just get the ship close enough and then I can swim over and retrieve it. Just make sure to stay close in case there is anything on that ship I need to slide away from fast." Muck suggests to the group as a possibility of retrieving it, as long as his earlier attempt at spotting anything on the ship does not see anything.
(Ship radar is your sense but it'll be like trying to pick a speck of dust out of a cloud of dust as a pilot. And Muck's previous roll does not count as it was before the asteroid field. Doing a perception roll there would have been impossible since it would be like trying to spot a rock in a desert while a sandstorm is going.)
You spot something pop out among the wreckage, as it bobs up and down the ship's gravity plane. After a moment of observation, it bears resemblance to the sketch they had provided you, bearing a metal motif on the cover. While there's no danger of suffocating, moving the ship closer can push the book away. Even a wrong step on debris could push it away, despite there being not too many wreckage parts able to serve as a foothold.
(For reference, the ship's gravity plane is 750 feet, minus 250 for the ship length. This part is totally up for your discretion, I'll just the say if it is possible or not, along with how difficult it will be.)

I actually don't see a 'potentially manipulated dice rolls' tag here...
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

(Interesting, now I do not see it either. But is was there.)

(Welcome back, currently the ship is on fire in some parts due to space eels.)

(Just needed the captain roll to proceed.)

(Very good rolls by the way.)
