(Yep, they are both checks. In order to become un-blind, you or one of your companions must make three successful medicine checks or use some kind of magic to remove the sand...)

Nygil spins around only to be slapped in the face by the sandy force. "Oh, ouch. You're not the only one who can't see." He says after Rethen announces his own blindness.
"Why! Now I can't witness the sandstorm!" He says, gently trying to brush the sand out of his eyes. "Wait, you said there is something here? Are we under attack? Oh come on!"
"Is that..?" But the storm surrounded the party before anyone could answer the bard. Jumble came to a stop and tried to cover his face with the desert gear he was wearing, yet the wind continued to whip granular bullets at him.
"The sand is shifting beneath us. Stay on guard. I'm worried there's something here".
"Well, that's unfortunate," came the matter-of-fact response, mostly spoken to himself. Thinking fast, Jumble quickly dismissed his familiar, then tried to create a barrier with his magic... only to find it collapsed too quickly to be of use. He then instead moved to stand beside his closest teammate, placing his hand on their shoulder.
"Stick together!" he shouted to the others, only to feel a bit silly for presuming they wouldn't already do that. Then, just in case anyone got disoriented, he created an illusion of a brightly-glowing lantern floating a few feet above his head, to give the party a rallying point.
It was then that the bard realized that not only was the stinging from the sand intensifying (3 slashing damage,) but he also now had zero visibility. He silently prayed that that wasn't the case for everyone else....

Mordred had seen that Kashika would not share her plans with him. Yet she would ask for his trust? He would not trust anyone who could not give it to him. He wouldn't keep an eye on her as she whispered around but he would say this to her refusing to answer.
"If you cannot trust us with you're plan, than I will not follow a plan I cannot follow. If you can't trust me, than you can't ask for my faith. I suppose in the end it is a simple exchange."
With that Mordred would take to the front, he wouldn't abandon her in combat but he would not follow her plans. It was clear the party would not follow the same routes or strategies but Mordred couldn't in good faith follow a plan he wasn't allowed to be privy too.
Rethan tries to wipe the sand from his eyes. (Might as well try, even if the odds are terrible. At least until someone else is available to help me :P)
"Oh, I don't care. I change too much to worry about that kind of stuff. So call me he, she, they, whatever's easiest in the moment." Jack waves her hand in the air, a sign of dismissal. She turns to Tamara, raising an eyebrow at her retelling of the tale. "That sounds interesting. I haven't heard any story like it, but I wouldn't be surprised if there ever was a changeling who used their abilities to save someone else." She pauses, mulling over her suggestion. Finally she shakes her head. "Sorry, maybe in another life. Honest work is how I make my living. If you need a leaking roof fixed or music for a party, I'd love to work on that, but I'll leave the conning to the con artists." She chuckles, showing there's no maliciousness in that comment. "And yes, I go by Jack in all forms. It's just easier to---" As she's talking, she's met with a faceful of sand.
Con check: 11
Dex check: 10
(Oh man...)
Jack tries to spit the sand out of her mouth, only for more sand to enter it a few seconds later. Also, she can't see. She tries to cover her face and eyes to no avail, the sand whips and scratches at her skin. "Pah! Is everyone okay?" One hand on her eyes, another grasping at the air in front of her, she does a complete 360 like this until her hand finds someone's shoulder (probably Mordred's). "I hope this is just a sandstorm. In our condition, we'd be in a lot of trouble. Can anyone else see?" Using her free hand, she tries to remove some of the sand from her eyes.

While Mordred does suffer the full force of the storm, he is able to feel the sand moving beneath his feet and jump backwards just in time to avoid being grabbed.
Jack and Rethan try unsuccessfully to remove the sand from their eyes.

"Hey, now... HEY!" yelped Jumble as he felt a tugging and found himself sinking into the sand. He tried to step and found there was a firm grip on his foot.
"No, no, nope," he continued, "we can't have this!" With that, he tried again, giving it an actual effort.

Finally realizing the seriousness of his situation as he sank deeper, the bard called to his allies, "Something's got a hold on me!" Although still blinded, he drew his rapier as he used his other hand to form the arcane gestures he needed to simply force as much of the sand away from his foot as possible. That done, he then focused on the magic of the weave, and attempted to thrust his blade right beside his ankle, to skewer whatever might be underneath.
(( Attack Roll w/ disadvantage? 12 to attack, 3 damage; but he's using Booming Blade, so an extra 1 thunder damage if the thing, whatever it is, gets hit then moves. ))

Mordred had raised a hand to his own face as he gave a quiet prayer. (Lessor restoration) curing his eyesight. He began to look around to see Jumble was being pulled down (They were close right? In the front.) Mordred had reached his hand to grab Jumble. Without a moments hesitation he would grip his arm around Jumble's if he could to pull at him.

Rethan cries out as *something* bursts from the sand and slashes him across the eyes, blinding him. Hopefully only temporarily....
"I really, really hope there isn't," Rethan responds to Zalten. "Because all of a sudden, I can't see."
Con save: 16
Dex save: 12, so 1 slashing damage and blinded
Edit: Realized I also rolled htem as saves, so if it's actually just a con check, I'd have gotten a 13 and failed that one too.

Mordred and Jumble also need to make an extra Dex or Acrobatics check.
