Well, since Jumble is suspicious of him already, (and he rolled pretty high) he notices the Kobold is gone after a while, but does not notice when he leaves. However, he can tell exactly where Whicket went by looking at the tiny Kobold footprints leading down the hallway.
Nygil is completely oblivious to the fact that the Kobold has disappeared.
The two elves step forward to push on the wall. They stands there, straining against the unyielding stone for a few moments before stepping back and looking at it again. (Going off Devona's original nat 20 for perception) Looking at the now not dusty wall, the eledrin can tell that this door is meant to slide down into the floor rather than inwards.
"Well I feel a little foolish now, but I think this door is supposed to go down...not in." She looks up at the door and then at the others. "Any idea on reaching the top to pull it down? Or does anyone see a switch, button, or lever around here to make it drop?"
Kashika had been too frustrated that her acid hadn't worked to notice - whether that would hurt or bless the kobold in his own mind was another matter - Regardless, it was then that she remembered the ring, and decided to give it a try.... slipping it on her pinky (or what could be considered one for a Kobold.) and placing it on the text... just to check, then against the 'door'... if that doesn't work... she looks about the room for something less obvious:
Kashika attempts to put the ring on her pinky, but finds that she has to put two of her tiny fingers into it in order to keep it on her hand. She places it on the stone wall and...nothing happens.
She does however get a good look at the hummingbird skillfully crafted into the ring.
Kashika, (and whoever else is close to her) can roll arcana if you wish to identify the ring.
Jumble was frustrated. They were getting nowhere, and yet he felt like they were missing something obvious. But what?
Finding a stick to pry the door just seemed like desperate thinking (a random stick? In here?) But he couldn't think of anything better. Then...
"Maybe the magic is keeping it from being moved?" he thought. Shrugging to himself, he cleared his throat. "Probably a waste of a spell, but might as well give it a shot..."
The bard approached the hidden door, waving one hand, formed into an arcane pattern, toward it as he chanted a couple of short lines of an unknown tongue. He twisted the weave to cast his spell, then held his breath and waited.
(( Jumble tries casting Dispel Magic on the door. In case a check is needed: 24 ))
Nygil sighs, “perhaps we should consider trying the other route if your magic doesn’t work.” He nods to Jumble, “maybe the is something else we have to do to get this door open? Like…maybe there is a leaver or key we need to find. The writing said something about dragons right? Maybe we need to find one? Real or otherwise?”
If dispel magic doesn’t fix this problem, Nygil will start off down the next hallway.
Jumble can sense that he has managed to dispel whatever abjuration spell was on the door. However, he is still skeptical about being able to force their way inside.
Devona thinks she recognizes the ring, but is unsure what exactly it does. Jumble also glances at the ring Kashika has and immediately knows what it is.
It is a ring of evasion. Unfortunately for the little kobold, it is way to big for her so she will likely not be able to use it.
At this point, all of you have noticed that Whicket has vanished. However, only Jumble notes the tiny footprints leading down the hallway.
Nygil makes his way down the path and eventually finds himself at a fork. The path takes a sharp left and a sharp right. Suddenly, Whicket dashes out of the left path. He looks a bit spooked.
"Woah, what's going on there..wait how did you get here....?" Nygil says to Wicket before grinning broadly, "Find a dragon by any chance? I think we need one to open that stupid door..."
The bard sighed as the door remained motionless. He was still able to detect auras, so he knew his dispel spell had worked. So what now?
Suddenly, Kashika's ring caught his eye. Jumble blinked, noting the faint aura around it. "Where did you find a ring of evasion?" he asked, as much out of a desire to focus on something else as out of actual interest, "or, as usual, did I just miss that you've always worn it?"
Kashika looked at the ring, then at Jumble for a moment, as if in disbelief to even be asked that. Y....You d-didn't see me pull this from the c-corpse earlier? I w-wasn't exactly subtle about it...she shook her head then, not having heard the specifics, though she had. She shook her head again.... before realizing she too had missed things, and odds were he was distracted, as she had been when she was... S-Sorry, I've had moments of not-payign attention.... Wait, a ring of w-what? she had no idea that the ring was magical otuside of thinking it might have been some key to the door - Bards tales and the like had given her that idea - from the few she'd been able to sit in one place long enough to listen to.
Then as Nygil makes his comment she realizes he may be correct. Perhaps the puzzle was more literal? Whether real or otherwise. Or maybe there is some s-statue or carving... that we have to do s-something with. the idea coming from conversations between adventurers she'd overheard from the 'other' world.
She handed the ring to Jumble. It w-won't fit me anyway, so y-you can h-have it. After which, she decided to head down the same path as Nygil - unless there was another path that wasnt the path they came through already.
Jumble stared at the ring in his hand as if it were an eldritch entity. He hoped he hadn't embarrassed the kobold; he certainly hadn't wanted the ring for his own.
Suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious, the bard quickly slid the ring on without thinking and hid his hand in his pocket as he hurried after Nygil and Kashika.

(( I thought that, typically, magic rings adjusted size to that of the wearer? I really don't want to snag this from Kashika if that's the case. If it's not the case here, well then... free magic ring! ))
Devona sees everyone else start to walk off, takes one last look at the door, frowns a bit in frustration and then walks off following the others down the hallways.
(Apologies again for vanishing... whatever i have is pretty nasty, but I'm about better now!)
Whicket fidgets, hopping from foot to foot as he replies, "A dr-dragon? Well...not a real one. There's a big statue of one in there... bu-but."He takes a few deep breaths trying to calm himself. "The bag. The bag the mean Minotaur had! It's behind the dragon! There's a body in there!"
The rest of the party walks up just as the frantic kobold spits out the last sentence.
@Jumble
That's true, but I'm attempting to distribute the wealth. The adventure is coming to an end, and Kashika already has a magic item so I wanted to give someone else the chance to have one.
Jumble's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the kobold suspiciously. "A body, you say?" Looking the creature up and down, the bard concluded he probably wasn't lying... but still, why had he gone off on his own, again? "No need to get paranoid, Jumble, just let it go," he thought to himself as he exhaled slowly.
"Well, that... seems unusual. So many questions. Hmm."
"Well now..." Nygil says, voice a little to cheery considering the circumstances. "Lets have a look then. Perhaps it can answer some questions for us. And real or not I'm willing to bet the dragon statue has something to do with opening the door." He gives a chuckle muttering, "To think we spent all that time trying to force it open."He shakes his head and begins walking briskly in the direction from which Whicket had come.
Kashika followed along near the back as the commotion took place. Whicket returning (though Kashika was unaware he had left) was glad to see the little guy was OK. His news confirmed hers and others suspicions, that there was some kind of dragon here. And a body? she'd seen plenty but... if it was near the bag.... Well l-lets hope we're not over t-thinking things W-whicket. But if it is him, we don't have time to be sad. Maybe h-he softened the e-enemies here, and it was easier for us. All we can do is see if he has what we came for, and if the s-statue can do anything.
Kashika would then ask Whicket to take the group there.
Whicket stops hopping from foot to foot as Kashika and the rest of the party fill the corridor. He cocks his head at Kashika, "Sad? I am not sad, I'm just...well, I wasn't expecting that!" He shakes his head then dashes back down the left pathway.
This corridor is about half the length of the last one you walked down. Soon it opens up into a circular room with the statue of a dragon at the far side. The dragon looks to be made of a dark redish orange stone, carved in a sitting position with it's left claw raised palm up. Whicket runs up to it and immediatly points at a dark shape sitting at the dragon's left side. The bag lays there top slightly open with a scaly orange claw sticking limply out of it.
