"As you wish, good sir." Durran replies as Ragmin takes his leave. "I hope you all find a restful slumber tonight, and we shall call for you before sunrise."
(If people are ready, we'll move onto the following morning)
Each taking to their rooms, the space is decent enough for one, with a sturdy bed and well fluffed pillows. It appears that this tavern wants to keep good care of their guests, though the threads used for the bedsheets are the slightest bit itchy.
That night, Fjorgin and Ragmin appear to have interesting dreams...
You find yourself alone on a large open plain. The grass is a sepia tone and the sky is brass. The sun shining overhead feels cold, as looking up to it is shines with a platinum hue. Standing up in the field, the land looks similar to the countryside you have just journeyed through, but the sight of Allhaven is not there. Where a grand walled city would be there is just a small hamlet. You find yourself slowly being pulled towards it before the sun's rays intensify, whiting your vision out before you reawaken.
As each of you rest, there are occasional noises from outside, some dogs barking and a couple of loud voices. Beyond that, it appears that this town is somewhat peaceful tonight, letting the group have a restful slumber until around half an hour before sunrise. Each person receives a banging on their door. The knock is very brutish and sounds like they are trying to knock the door down. "Wake Up Call." comes the gruff voice of Skolla, ensuring that people are awake before moving onto the next door.
Once each person is awake and dressed, they can head downstairs to the tavern room where Durran appears to be cooking up some stew over a fire. "Oh, good morning, travellers." He says in his welcoming tone. "I trust you slept well." He looks the group up and down. "Heading out so soon? Well if you would like, I made some sandwiches with the leftovers from last night. You can take some with you if you like. Travellers are always welcome at The Evensong."
(Just to confirm, you all benefit from an extended rest)
Thea crawls down the stairs with a big yawn, armor donned and quiet the grumpy look on her face. To some extent it makes it look awefully obvious that she isn't much older than a teenager. "Uuuuuuuuuaagh......that was nearly a bit too comfortable. Congratulations, good sir Durran, i haven't felt this unwilling to leave a bed in a while now. Never been much of a morning person though..."
"Thank you for the accommodation, it was very welcome." Fjorgin slowly puts on his armor and stretches, then goes over to Ragmin. "Hello, Ragmin, good morning. I had a rather strange dream last night, I was back at Allhaven but Allhaven was not there... And the light of Pelor did not shine bright... I'm sure it means nothing, though!"

Liavyre walks downstairs with her armor and equipment fully prepared as if she had been awake for a few hours. If there is a ration of leftover vegetables from Durran she will accept, otherwise she's fine with letting someone else take her portion. She says to Durran, "A pleasant evening, thank you and Skolla for making us feel welcome."
She says to her companions after they've come downstairs and had a moment to organize their belongings, "Morning greetings everyone. We should go meet our absent guide, Pip, at the gate soon. I'm very anxious to see if he shows up at all."

As he meets his fellow travelers he expresses his concerns. "I think we need to hurry. I had a most unsettling dream I feel comes from Pelor. Time is of the essence"
Liavyre says, "If we're going to be doing a full day of walking then we should depart as soon as possible anyway. We don't want to be caught camping in the wrong place at night."

"Hold up." Durran says, heading over to the kitchens. He returns a minute later with a wrapped parcel of leftovers from last night. "Take 'em with you. May Pelor light your path."
Taking the road early, the group begins to make their way north through the town, seeing a myriad of different styles of architecture as they travel. It appears that Sun's Last Light has building altered and changed constantly, using whatever building tools are best for the time. There are a couple of dogs that are rummaging through rubbish in a back street, but beyond that the town is fairly quiet during the hour before dawn.
At the edge of town, another huge gate, this one with a reinforced metal gate, stands between the group and the outside. As they get closer, they can see Pip is hanging around by the gate with a human guard. "Oh, hey guys." Pip says with a yawn. "I've talked to the guards to get us out as soon as you're ready. Everyone sleep well?"
Liavyre says, "Did you manage to get all of your deliveries and your other business taken care of without issue?"she picks a few loose leaves and grass from the ground and imbedds it in her armor as we wait.

"Yup." Pip smiles and nods. "All jobs done. We're gonna have to make it through the Giant Steppe first, so keep an eye out for their namesake. Pretty brutish stuff live in those hills."
The guard calls out, "Open the gates!" to the other guards at the levers. There is the noise of the heavy chains slowly clanging as the two massive metal doors are opening for the group to reveal the short grass field between them and their destination. Heading out of town, the first lights of day begin to show, revealing the huge peaks of the mountain range in the distance, barring the path between Pelor's domain and the wilderness beyond, there is a schism in the mountains, where rocky patched hills can be seen ahead, the grass areas visible appear to be a yellowy-green discolouration. "Well guys, this is the path we take. If we're lucky, we won't have to camp out until we're on the other side." Pip pulls his belt up and begins to lead the group towards The Giant Steppe.
(If you would like to establish a marching order. Pip is a guide, so can either be with the party or scouting ahead at the party's request. I will assume that people will be keeping a weapon/focus to hand unless specified. Feel free to let me know if you do anything in particular on your trip over the field before the large hills ahead)
OOC: New Day, New Breadth of Knowledge: Proficiency with Survival and Nature
I think having Pip scout ahead is a good idea, but since Thea can pinpoint north i'd ask for the direction we're headed first, in case we lose track or get split up. Psycic Focus will once again be on Psycic Assault.
If all agree to establish marching positions, Thea would prefer to stay somewhere in the hopefully more safe middle of the group.

Liavyre would be scouting ahead as well, it's kind of her schtick. Keeping an arrow notched in her longbow the entire time, but pointed at the ground and without drawing the string.
If we pass through a forest, just a reminder it's her favored terrain and is impossible for her to get lost unless via magical means.
"Glad to be back out in the wilds again..." She says with her eyes closed and a small smile, followed by a deep inhale of the crisp morning air.
Pip leads the group through the open field towards the huge hills ahead. There is a seemingly void of animals in the grass here as they make their way towards the first incline.
"The hills have plenty of strange stuff, mostly giant-kin and what they eat." Pip explains as the group begins their uphill climb. "There's plenty of dips and climbs in this area, so make sure to use the height of the hills to your advantage."
Upon getting to the top of the hill, there is a vast valley, surrounded by other hills taller than the one just climbed. At the bottom appears to be a large tree with autumn brown leaves, surrounded by a small lake. "There's plenty of critters that live in this valley. None of 'em too nice." Pip explains to the group. He then points to somewhere in the vast dip in the ground. "Look, over there." He points out to the others that there are a pair of large mishapen humanoids with craned necks and large torsos. "Ogres litter the place. Easy enough to sneak around though. They're not too bright; it's the hill and stone giants that are more dangerous. If we go through the valley, there's a bit more cover, but a chance of meeting some other things. If we keep to the heights, we're more open targets, and they can throw rocks really far." Pip looks to the others. "Any preference?"
"What exactly do you mean by "other things" we might run into? I generally think we should try not to go for broke already, but rather try and portion ourselfes. If whatever could be waiting for us in that valley is less scary than getting menhirs pitchforked into our face, then my votes is on taking cover and sneaking through."
Liavyre says, "If we are caught in the open then there is very little chance of hiding or escape. Our chance of survival and success will be greater if we use stealth and our wits. At least with cover we can hide if we need to run or set up an ambush of our own, if not avoid a dangerous fight altogether. Definitely cover I say."
