You find yourself in a dark, forty foot wide room. The floor is covered in sand and the walls are covered in shields and graffiti. Elrinec hears soft, retreating footfalls to the north. There is one tunnel to the south.

You walk about 70 feet before entering a larger 20 foot wide hallway with demon paintings on the walls. A skeleton of a birdlike humanoid lies on the floor, one hand outstretched towards a painting of a nalfulshee. At the end of the hall stairs go down out of view.

One is decorated with images of clockwork gears that work their way around the hilt and cross guard and onto the side of the blade, while the other has images of legendary magic items and artifacts. You see the Hand of Vecna, an Orb of Dragonkind, the Deck of Many Things, and more decorate this scimitar.
When you tap the painting an entire tem foot section of the wall swings aside. You enter a rough-hewn passage which meanders downward to a partially flooded, tilted room. A statue sits at the west end. Everyone but arith notices the grey ooze before it lunges out of the water at them! Roll for initiative!
