Noel leaves the room Beren had entered initially once there seemed to be little of note aside from a small tragedy. Jack, upon hearing this has a breif vision of a dark elf in some dusty fort. A waterlogged floor. The elf had just entered the room, to see many a mead bottles, as well as several dead goblins nearby. Initially, the dark elf jumped for joy, for he had an addiction to alcohol and thought he had just hit the jackpot. But upon inspection, it seems the goblins had drank themselves to death, but not before emptying the entire cellar of it's contents.
A shrill cry of agony pierces his mind as the elf laments the loss, bashing the goblins into paste before his mind returns. Jack feels that the vision has no effect on this world but that it should remind him of a story long ago, in a frozen, mountainous land. A tale of a dark elf who loved to suplex wolves, to no effect.
Regardless, Beren and Noel push forward into the next room. Beren as brazenly cautious as before, pushed the door open. Jack, who was still within the foyer, hears the clopping of hooves outside in the storm.
Beren and Noel look into this new room. And inside they see Five barrels that lie in wooden braces along the walls of this dark, moldy storage room. (20)
There appears to be nothing of note.
Noel and Beren may each make a single perception check.
"Far too late my friend, for I could not very well let my eyes leave Sir Beren here, least some other foul evil do away with him in the dark. And oh do I regret it now!" Jack said as much, sounding more amused than actually distraught over the discovery. "But I suppose it could be... wor-..." He trails off from there as the vision hits him. At it's end, a single tear is shed, a bit sniffling can be heard, and then just as he's about to poor one out for the unfortunate elf, as he still had a spare wineskin tied to his belt, the Eladrin stop mid-motion and cocked his head slightly the side.
"Is that-?" He turns towards the door and raises a brow. "Was that a horse?" He adds quietly and says nothing more while trying to gauge whether the sounds of hooves were getting fainter or growing louder. Depending on his findings, Jack would either try to hurry along after the pair to whisper brightly "Seems we're not the only ones looking for a play to get out of the rain~" and let them know, or shrug it off and more casually position himself behind the pair to stare over some shoulders into the new room.

Beren briefly wonders what had caused such discomfort for both of his companions upon entering the room. Sure, he'd felt the cold, but whatever trap he'd triggered had long since lost its potency. Could it be that they took the brunt since they were behind him...between him and the dragon statue? Hmm, what a careless mistake on his part. He couldn't afford such mistakes again.
He'd been ready with his sword when the sarcophagus swung open, but quickly noted its lack of a corps and deemed it unworthy of further attention. So, he moves on to the next room, sweeping his gaze across it's contents much as he'd done in the last one.
Beren notices nothing within the second room aside from the obvious. (will wait for Noels before proceeding on that front)
Meanwhile, with Jack, as he had been heading towards the second room where Beren and Noel currently were, the sound he'd heard .. he focuses on it. The hooves seem to be getting closer, stopping just outside before silence and storm rule the sounds he hears once more. Though even after several long moments, no one enters the building.
Noel is startled as Jack mentions something about a horse and chimes in saying "Perhaps. Though with what we've seen of this place, I wouldn't exactly trust that any sound of a bbeast is not something far more horrifiying". He things back on the humanoid monstrosity they encountered yesterday: if Strahd or whatever other horrors lied here were making things as twisted as that, he doubts there would be just one.
He then focuses back in on the room in front of him. It seems rather unimportant, filled with random destroyed junk like the previous two rooms, but it is at least worth a look. If this was some sort of storage room, perhaps there is something of use to them there
Jack started to say something, paused for a second, then ultimately said with smile to his voice, "Very true, my friend. Could very well be the dreaded nuckalavee standing out there, considering whether it would be worth the effort to come inside, or wait 'till we're spooked outside." His expression turns more serious. "If it's all the same, I think I'll keep to the doorways as we check the other rooms, so that my eyes never leave the front doors for long."
(OOC: Not much I know, but curious to see what comes of Noel's check or any response from Beren)

Noel can just barely hear the sounds of labored breathing within the second room, though it's source is nowhere to be seen as far as he can tell. If whatever it is is within the room, it's clearly trying it's best not to be seen, or discovered. It could also be elsewhere within the building where the sound can simply carry through to this room. Regardless, for now, Noel is unsure, and unable to spot anything immediately upon first inspection.
The room itself is mostly bare, aside from the multiple giant caskets that likely used to contain ale, wine, or some other spirit. The only thing that stands out about them is that on the side, it reads 'The Wizard of Wines.' Making Noel think back to the sign they had seen before, and a name of similar description.
From outside, the only noise is from the storm itself.
To Beren's ears the sound of breathing is completely drowned out by both the storm and blocked out thanks to the armor covering his head. He scans the room, and then turns his attention to Jack who thought he'd heard something or someone outside.
He gives a stiff nod at Noel's words, and once again contemplates reaching out with Divine Sense. Again, he decides not to, if something bursts through the door they will deal with it. He nods again when Jack offers to keep an eye on the door, then glances at the doors himself. After a moment of silence he says, "I could confront this individual--perhaps catch them unaware as they attempt to enter, but for now it may be in our best interest to wait and hope that they leave. If this is another creature of darkness, it might not be able to enter this place. Even in if can, it may choose not to if it does not know we are here."
With that, he turns to head to the next door.
(OOC: Will wait for Noel to mention what he heard before actually having Beren move on.)
Noel first examines the casks, and upon seeing the mention of the Wizard of Wines, largely brushes it off, though he quickly mentions it to the others. Whatever that wizard is, knowing what they know know about this place, he doubts he would be of much help. Probably just another one of Strahd's lackeys. As he examines the room though, the breathing sound immediately sets him on alert, and the candle at his side lights as he turns to the others and says "Be careful. I hear breathing coming from the second room. I don't know if something is in there or if its just echoing from elsewere but... remain alert".Noel then hangs back, waiting to let one of the others lead. As Beren mentions confronting this sound he simply nods and gestures for Beren to go ahead
Breathing? Beren turns his attention back to the room, scanning it once more and cocking his head as if trying to listen. Still hearing nothing, he shakes his head and silently curses himself for using his divine sense so many times the day before. As they leave the room were Noel heard the breathing, Beren shuts the door behind them. He doesn't know if what Noel heard is anything to worry about...for all he knows it could just be a trick of this place... old run down buildings can generate all sorts of noises. Nevertheless, he knows not to disregard such noises, even if he hadn't hear it himself.
As he makes his way to the next door, he glances at the main entrance, eyeing it in case whatever Jack heard outside decides to make itself known. If nothing happens, he pushes open the door of the next room.
Ultimately choosing the continue the exploration rather than investigate either of the two occurrences of noise, Beren proceeds clockwise while Jack listens for further exterior noises - Which gets rewarded fairly quickly. Much as he had heard the hooves before, he now heard them again. Initially, very close, but then slowly fading until they could no longer be heard. Whoever it was had likely left. Whether they were friend or foe, or knew/didn't know of the group was also in the air.
Noel following Beren back to the foyer, if only to not be left alone with whatever it was, leaving you all back in the foyer while Beren proceeds past the stairs to the next nearest door.
Once inside, Beren see's A twenty-foot-long table with sculpted dragons for legs stands in the center of this hall. The chairs that surround the table have backs carved to resemble folded dragon wings, and several of the chairs have been overturned or smashed to pieces. Suspended above the table is a crystal chandelier that glows with a soft white light. Standing in windowed alcoves are two life-sized statues depicting knights with dragon-winged helms and shields.
Rainwater trickles through cracks in the ceiling, flowing down the west wall and adding to a large puddle on the floor.
Five sets of wooden doors lead to this hall. The doors in the northeast corner hang open. A pair of leaded glass doors, their panes cracked and broken, stand open between panels of stained glass set into the east wall. These panels depict silver dragons in flight. Beyond the glass doors lies a dark, misty room that appears to be a chapel.
As all eyes are drawn towards Berens visible glow.

Although Jack kept most his attention in whatever direction towards the main door, and only by the grace of his progenitor had he managed to avoid tripping on anything while following after the others, the eladrin couldn't help but breath a small sigh of both relief and disappointment in hearing the hooves fade away. Something he perhaps should've brought up with the others, but soon dismissed in taken in ultimately the group's next destination: Some kind of... dinner room? Meeting room? Perhaps a combination of both?
Whether for better or worse, such questions and more continued to bounce around his head as he examined the room from behind Beren, searching for anything a smidge too out of place for the setting to so readily dismiss out of hand.
Between the breathing he'd heard and the noises Jack had mentioned from outside, Noel is getting far more nervous in this place than he was originally. He contimplates going back into the room where he heard the noise coming from and investigating, but decides that Beren's call of leaving the door to that room shut, at least for now, is the best call. As Beren proceeds into another area, Noel hurredly follows. When the room is revealed, he is instantly awed by the statues and stained glass, even more imagery of what he assumes is Arganvost himself or perhaps some allies of his. Even in this highly ruined state, there certainly seem to be quite a bit of incredibly artestry here
Quickly though, he refocuses on the scanning the room for any possible threats, keeping an ear out for any noise behind him at the same time

After doing a general sweep of the room with his eyes, Beren decides that there is nothing of concern here. Broken chairs and ancient statues hold no value to him. This place makes him think to much of the Church.
Briefly, he debates on whether or not to leave this area for not and continue with the rest of the doors from the foyer. After a moment he decides to continue clockwise around this room as well, opening the first door to the left and checking inside.

Beren and Noel spot nothing within the new room that wasn't already visible. The only difference here being the chandelier giving off the soft light. (Noel do an arcana check). The storm still torrential outside, as thunder booms and shakes the foundations. The outside still foggy despite this, what can be seen through the shattered and unshattered windows.
Within the next clockwise room, Beren pushes through, and inside is a kitchen that has has been plundered, its tables overturned. The floor is littered with rusted utensils and smashed crockery. Narrow windows flanking a hearth look out over a cemetery. An open iron pot hangs from a hook inside the blackened fireplace. It rattles on its hook and bobs up and down, as though something is inside it.
Jack however, in the rear, and thus, last to enter the room, hears the noise of a door creaking open not far behind them. It's clear that whatever caused it wasn't trying to be heard, but had slightly misjudged when the thunderous boom would actually happen. And he spots a very dark skinned elf, covered in blood attempting to make his way to the front door.
Jack eyes go a bit wide at the sight, before narrowing as a sly smile blooms on his face. Just as he raised a hand as if to snap his fingers, some bothersome thought found its way to the forefront, given the Eladrin actually pause for a moment, before sighing and snapping out a hand to try and grab at least Noel's shoulder without breaking eye line on the elf. "Psst. Seems we got company~ And they seem quite bloodied up at that." He whispered back in what he hoped was a tone just loud enough for his companions. Unfortunately, that was the end of the Spring Eladrin, as he's soon after hurriedly trying to creep his way closer to the elf so that he might hit them with a bright "Hello there!" and a smile and... a shield raised just enough to protect his precious neck in case they spun around to do violence.
That is of course noone grabbed him before he could act, and under such circumstances, there'd hardly be more resistance than a noise of complaint and a muttered, "Oh very well~"
To clarify, the icy blast was from the dragon statue. stepping on the steps triggered a trap.
