Barkas says along with Naru, “Ifn you need my help with that box, let me know!” He assumes a defensive aspect and broadens his stance to help with his balance.
Dexterity save : 8
He hurls a guiding bolt at the closest set of tentacles.
Guiding bolt : Attack: 14 Damage: 10 radiant damage, giving advantage to next attack roll against this target if it hits.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Naru spell goes off but...none of the creatures fall down asleep. The ghasts retaliate against the tentacles as it attacked them. But the creatures do little to no affect to the tentacles as they continue to thrash about. More of the hull gives way, letting more seawater in. As the cargo hull start to fill with more water, you all feel the ship tilt suddenly portside (leftside). The giant creature seemed to be pulling the ship under while destroying it.
(Everyone make a Dex Save, DC 10, on fail, fall prone and is forcibly moved to the left 10 feet. On save then you stay standing and is not moved.)
(Did enough damage to not have to do a DEX save to avoid getting hit by the tentacles.)
(Automatic pass on Int Save as it has a +13 modifier.)
(Currently you don't know where the rowboat is as the party is still on the cargo deck, the lowest deck. If you go up the stairs/ladder, you can ascend to the main deck and flag them down.)
Naru is able to stay up. As everybody seems busy with fighting, he grabs the other half of the chest with Alabaster and shouts: "I really think we should get the hell out of here guys, this has serious "Octopus" vibes!"
Feeling how dire the situation is, Naru will cast Bardic Inspiration on Alabaster to help him stay up, and keep his action to Dash with him when he starts moving.
(Alabaster, we would have over 18 STR combined, but it still means -10ft movement) (Also, I don't know what tag Bardic Inspiration is in, it's not in [spell] or [skill], It'll give you +1d6 on any check, save, or hit dice, once)
Barkas nods when Naru is talking, and adds his strength (12) to the task and helps to carry the box as well, trying to keep to his feet and get this moved into the proper position and get off the ship as quickly as possible.

Alabaster nods to Naru, agreeing with the bard that their first priority should be get off this ship first. "You're right. Let's go." Despite the dire situation, a faint grin comes onto Alabaster's lips as he hears Naru's joke, his sharpened canine flashing momentarily. He would use his action to dash to climb up to the main deck.
The water starts to rush into the cargo deck, quickly filling it. It pushes any on that deck upwards as the whole deck is submerged. Most of the party had managed to climb the ladder before it filled, with Shafir being fine as he was amphibious. Yet the crew deck was no better as tentacles had broken through this deck as well. It thrashes about once more.
Naru can easily stand his ground despite the rocking ship. He aims a Sleep 2nd level spell right between the two smaller, still unidentified monsters.
Sleep HP amount: 23

(Right there)
He will then move back behind shafir, next to the ladder, and say:
"If you need my help with the box, just say "Naru, help box!"
