Though you are unusually sleepy from today's activity, you manage to stay awake until Jordi relieves you. During the night you keep reliving the incident from the plane but are no wiser when you awake in the morning.
Jordi
The little sleep proved helpful in staying awake during the night.
Chris
Though you had a good amount of sleep during the earlier part of the night, you find yourself nodding off as dawn approached. However, some instinct wakes you as dawn breaks. For a moment, you thought you saw movement and felt like you were being watched. A more alert scan doesn't reveal anything, but a search of the area reveals a few more paw prints. You are certainly being watched.
Dawn breaks over the world in glorious shades of gold.
Chris finding prints in the early morning dawn decides now know for sure there was something watching them while the other slept. He lets them sleep since he know they will need it but for the rest of the journey he will set up his Alarm around the campsite. When the other finally wake he shows them the silver wire and bell that trigger the alarm so they know what to look out for as well as the prints he found.
Yawning, Jordi blinks slowly awake. He rubs some snow on his face to clean it, and help him wake up. He will stir up the coals of the campfire, and heat up some water.
"We should get moving before long," he says, "we have a gnomish priest to catch."
OoC: excuse the phone post today. I love the real life kinda comments..
Dawn comes late as the sun needed to clear to mountain ridge east of the valley. The trail remains easy to follow as it curves around the mountains following which seems to be a natural ledge which has been cleared of larger obstructions. There remains enough snow to allow the sleigh to run over small branches, but there is evidence that the Gnome must have dismounted his sleigh now and then to chop and clear larger logs.
A little before the sun has reached its zenith, the trail of the sleigh suddenly veers of the path and down of the steep side. The snow here has been churned as if with many feet.
Chris seeing the veered off path and a lot of churned snow looks to the other and immediately cast Mage armor . “And here ladies and gentlemen on our regularly scheduled flight of magic and mystery is where our annual ambush takes place please keep all hand and feet inside the sleigh at all time and we ask you take note of all sharp objects in the vicinity.”
Looking over the side two things immediately catch your attention. The first is a deep, red sleigh turned over on its side among the trees.
The second is a black headed vulture whose body is the size of a small horse. It's evil, black eyes regarding you as it spreads it's body and wings making it seeming even large as it hisses at you. Blood is clearly visible on its beak and on the snow behind it!
Entangle: Grasping weeds and vines sprout from the ground in a 20-foot square around the giant vulture attempting to restrain him. It may be strong enough to break free. (DC 13 Str. to free itself).
Everyone taking a watch, please make a constitution & a nature or perception check.

Jordi unslings his shortbow and nocks an arrow (range to target?). "Down there! I'll bet it has attacked the priest!"
"Oh no! He could be sleighn!"
"You are not getting away!"
