Wary though she is, as Strix begins to gather her things to find a different spot to camp for the night, she is interrupted by a wet sucking sound, and then feels a small gust of air press against her face. She turns just in time to see another ooze drop from the ceiling, slapping out with a part of itself that it forms into a type of arm or tentacle. Strix's training is second nature though, and she twists her body to avoid the strike. She then calls out to her companions to let them know another ooze has made itself known.
(OOC: And we're back to you all in the block initiative. Post as you're able. Remember you can roll attacks either on your DDB character sheet, as those are recorded in the Game Log, or you can roll them here in the forum. Either way.)

Harbeck's obvservational skills do not betray him. After taking a radiant bolt, a javelin, and another arrow in rapid succession, the only thing left of the gray ooze is splatters and splotches across the cave floor.
Now the group has the problem of searching for another defensible spot to camp for the night.

We can do that one of two ways, we can run it as a group check, everyone rolls and I count successes; or you can have the character with the best bonus roll, and anyone who is also trained in Survival could Help them, giving them advantage. Harbeck and Kyomi end up being zero help at all, but thankfully Strix, Morbrukk and Kelsin are able to use their collective experience and skills to find a different spot to camp for the night, ableit less defensible, and having way too high of a ceiling for Harbek's liking. "We've already had an ooze drop down off the ceiling on us, who knows what hidden creeping creatures could be up there waiting to do the exact same thing!" The surly dwarf paladin exclaims, but since he was no help in finding an alternate site, Strix just tells him to quit his complaining and get to making their camp as secure as possible.
As the group is, once again, getting their overnight camp setup, Kelsin seems to always keep one eye on the half-drow Kyomi. It's not subtle, and Kyomi realizes something is amiss.

Kelsin stares daggers at Kyomi "Trust is earned and you have lost my trust. If you plan of ignoring fights then at least be useful as a meat shield" She then eats a ration and drink some water before taking a turn at watch
Kiyomi merely smiles her signature smirk, red eyes glinting as she stares evenly back at Kelsin. She is unfazed by the Duergars clear lack of trust.. she is, after all, half drow. Trust was a luxury she was never given with growing up, and hardly expects now. “My apologies. I’m afraid I have had no true battle experience before this - it seems training is very different from the real thing. I shall learn from watching you and aid you as best as I can in future combat.” She pauses, smirk widening slightly. “Even if that is just as a meat shield.”
“In the meantime, I will do what I can to make it up to all of you in whatever way possible.”
“Easy everyone. Let’s not turn on each other,” Strix says calmly. “Each of has our own strengths that I’m sure will prove valuable - after all we’re just getting started. And, as Morbrukk has pointed out, we can also learn from each other.”

For the time being, though blood ran hot after the run-in with the gray oozes, the group suppresses their doubts about each other, and each takes their turn at watch while the group rests for the night. In the morning, after breaking their fast on more rations of cured meats, cheese, and dried fruits, Strix and Harbek lead the group off of the main dwarven roads and into a section of twisting tunnels. Strix indicates that they should be exiting the Shadowlands for the surface world before the day is out, but first they need to find the hidden door that leads to a secret trail which in turn leads to the back entrance of Furuflaten. Strix tells everyone to keep their eyes peeled for even the most subtle signs of dwarven craftsmanship, as secret doors made by dwarves are all but invisible to the naked eye, unless you know exactly where to look.

Unfortunately, even keeping careful watch for any secret signs, the company of new companions is unable to locate anything that might point them in the right direction.

Instead they wander around the twisting turning tunnels for another four hours, and what should have been a short jaunt turns into half a day. Strix realizes that exhaustion isn't going to do their investigative skills any favors, but she also realizes the more they wander around the tunnels, the further away from where they're supposed to be they might get. She halts the group for a moment and poses the question: "We've been wandering around a fair bit without any good signs of direction, or indications where this secret exit door may be. We can stop and find another suitable camp for the night, or press on and keep looking, what say you all?"
(OOC: Feel free to discuss your choices in character, or out of character in the Private Message chat. If you all want to camp for the night and try your luck again in the morning, we'll need a group Survival check. If you want to keep on looking, everybody roll another Investigation check, and we'll see if anybody can find a clue. :D I'll wait to see what the consensus is, and the results of the subsequent rolls.)

I'm confident that we're close, and lest we stray too far, I suggest we look one more time in this area and if we don't find it, we find a place to camp and resume our search in the morning."
She will then cast Guidance on herself (adds a d4 to one ability check). Investigation check: 8 + 4
