"Right, right. I think I could manage something like a Ballista ...given some time to get acquainted with it" Kelthese replies as he makes his way toward the ship,"It shouldn't be a problem at all."
After a bit of initial confusion on where he needed to go, he makes his way to his bed and unloads his non-essential gear into the trunk at the foot of the bed. Once he's gotten situated, he lays on the bed for a moment, fidgets uncomfortably a bit, then sits up as he reminds himself he needs to get some work done to prove his worth on the crew. He grabs up his bow and blade and makes his way into town to make sure the items he wants to trade are available.
He keeps an eye out for anything that may catch his eye, but doesn't seem to be too focused on much more than loading up his stuff and resting on the ship by nightfall.
(Maybe I will get to take off this armor for a bit, it's starting to smell)
S'ika looked at the dwarf with a bright smile. Shes use to long handshakes. She listens carefully as he speaks, making sure not to miss a single word. As he finished, S'ika looked up at the ceiling and thought about what she should do. "Here's what" She said as she looked the dwarf in his eyes. "I would love to accept, but if its dangerous, I might not be able to do it myself." S'ika places an arm onto the table and leans her chin into her hand.
"Oh yea" She says to herself. "Hey Rook! Sal!" S'ika motions for them to come closer. "These two are great" she says to the dwarf. She looks back over at Rook and Sal."This man here says him and his clan need some help. Would you like to help?"
Ooc: S'ika will repeat what the Dwarf said to Rook and Sal. Just to avoid a unnecessary wall of repeated text.
Sal heads over (with Rook, hopefully) to where S'ika is. She listens to the tale. "Well I normally attempt not to get into the matters of clans and families."Sal comments. "However, I cannot confirm that we can definitely assist with this. My duties are to the ship and her crew, so the captain would have to give the okay for this quest, not me."
" T'seems like none of us will be regretting this choice, sirs! "
Nyhwll's teeth show in a grin that practically splits open his face, before he stoops to grab the assorted luggage by his feet. Random squares of cloth and finery from his bulging pack flutter to the ground as he does so. Quickly snatching up his silken miscellany, Nyhwll bows with an air of regained composure.
" Off to the Keel with me, then? "
Having arrived, Nyhwll attends to his bunking necessities straight away, heading down into the vessel to find his quarters.
Rook continues to eye the dwarf bothering S'ika but is easily distracted by Sal. "Oh yes, Sal, the barkeep was very nice and told me many stories, as I said before, and people seem pretty friendly. Not sure about that dwarf though. :::Hic::: You look very nice today, by the way, Sal. :::Hic::: How was your visit to your temple?"
At S'ika's gesture Rook is happy to follow Sal over and get a closer look at the dwarf. He looks the stranger up and down with an exaggerated squint, not really noticing he is doing so. As they are introduced Rook just raises his mug and nods his head silently. At Sal's words Rook at least tries to sound like he has full control over himself long enough to get out "Aye, gotta ask the Captain" in a slightly deeper voice than normal, as if he is overcompensating.
TylerTh - The ship is rather empty at the moment. Many of the crew are ashore, and even the Captain is not aboard. The ship is surprisingly well-kept, and the idle crew are relaxing. Once in a while a shipment comes on board, but it is handled deftly and quickly, with everyone returning to their positions of relaxation and ease once done. Night fall comes without incident, although there are some clouds looming on the horizon when the sun fades.
Alpha - See above, but most of the ship is open to inspection, except for specific cabins and the vault.
Nireus/Poke/Rook - The Dwarf grins, his square teeth grey and dark as he answers "If yer Captain is open to it, I'll rent yer services from him, then. Just have to agree on yer prices, hmm? Maybe others from yer ship want to help, as well?
Savoigne - Quarters are easy enough to find, as many sailors aboard are willing to direct you to your billet. As you set your gear in place, you see a couple of other crew members wandering and looking around, probably other new recruits as well. ( Encounter Tyler & Alpha as you wish)

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Sal chuckles, "Once again, that is not my call. I am merely the medic of the ship, the captain and first mate will be able to help you better if you are attempting to employ our services. My work is bound to Mystra first, then the ship, then myself."
She then looks to Rook. "Rook dear, you've not been here that long and how many drinks have you had? If there were a type of fish that used ale instead of water I'd make a witty comparison between the two. And to answer your question, the temple here is a beauty to behold, perhaps Sune gave some of her graces alongside Lady Mystra. It is truly a wonderful place."
The dwarf nods and says "Then that's what I'll do. Yer Captain will be my next stop." With that, he rises from the seat and purposefully walks out the door, presumably to see the Captain. Night has fallen, and the place is getting busier. The spectral movements behind the bar are obviously faster, although Rook's ability to notice such things has become fuzzy.

As the night wears on, A visitor comes aboard the Keel - A swarthy Dwarf dressed in better than average finery, looking for the Captain. The Captain arrives from recruiting a bit later and with the two Mates and all of them talk on deck for a bit. He then meets privately with the Captain, and his presence is passed swiftly through the decking rumour mill as crew wonder his purpose. (All aboard the ship know of this.) After about two hours of discussion, the Captain emerges, the visitor beside him.
"All right, listen up! We've been offered a contract to help clear out a problem at our next port, but it's a land-based issue. This gentleman here needs a small force to help resolve problems with his clan's farming above ground, but they don't know what is causing the problems. There have been no deaths, just damage, sabotage and missing equipment and they want people who have some general skill to help find out! It's purely a volunteer position, but he's offered 450 gp to each person that joins the force, as well as healing and the like should you need it. It is expected to take no more than five days to deal with. We will be posting this on the master deck board - if you want to sign up, you have until we reach our next port to do so. Pass this on to those who are not aboard, when they come back from leave."
With that, the Captain escorts the dwarf to a cabin, and goes back to regular duties.

During the evening, Sal will return to the ship. While wandering around the port town is nice, she much prefers to stay by the sea as is natural for her kin. She takes to her cabin, placing her purchased goods into the locked chest and checking through the ship's medical supplies to ensure that there are enough in case of another dangerous trip.
S'ika grins widely "Sounds great. Hopefully the captain agrees". S'ika takes one more chug of her drink, then looks at the other two. "Alright guys. i'll meet you back on the ship. You two have fun now". As she is walking out, she turns around and waves to them both.
For purchases. S'ika will pick up 100 gp worth of Exotic Woods(1lb), 12 gp worth of Basic blades(4lb), 5gp worth of Basic armor(1lb), 100gp worth of Exotic Fabrics(2lbs), 2gp worth of grain(2lbs), and 2gp worth of Exotic spices(2lbs). It took a while, but she managed to get everything to her room and into the chests.
All tired out, S'ika decided it was time to hit the hay. But before then, like every night, she had to play one more song. Something slow. Something to help ease to mind of the others. She went back to the deck and played a song that her mother had played for her. As soon as she is finished, she goes back to her cabin, lays her loot on top of her chest, and goes to sleep.
Kelthese returns to the ship from a short visit on land in time to hear the Captain's decree and gets caught up listening in on the various crew members talking about it. He wanted to jump up and sign himself to it immediately for the offered coin, but decides he should play coy for a bit and sign on once they've left port.
He spied the occasionally out of place and odd looking character wandering the ship, pegging them as competition for job, and convinced himself to make a move after he has an idea of who else will be going.
Satisfied with his decision, he returns to his room and finally gets to escape his armor for the evening. He lays out his equipment on his bed space and begins inspecting it, tightening the odd loose strap and lace. It might be beat up, but it's all he's got to cover his rear anymore.
OOC: Purchasing 2lbs Exotic Fabric (100 GP) and 10lbs of Basic Armor (50 GP)
Rook responds to Sal's inquiry about his drinks with a confident "ah, four, ah, er, seven, maybe?" He starts counting on his fingers and mostly just stares at them with a confused expression as he raises and lowers fingers on both hands simultaneously in a non-sensical pattern before giving up and shrugging. At Sal's description of the temple Rook tells Sal "that's good that it was so pretty, like you.." before trailing off...
Back on the ship the next morning, Rook has a pounding headache. After sleeping in and eventually finding his way up to the deck for fresh water and food, Rook inquires as to what people are talking about with regard to the dwarf. When someone posts him to the job posting he studies any names there and then decides to sign up, mostly due to the promise of pay.
To Rook's question, Sal nods. "I see no reason as to not help in this. Perhaps there are mystics that will need assistance with amongst other things." She comments. During the day she will ensure that the healing supplies are stocked up, and if they are missing too much to report it to the captain.
(OOC: Just to note I'll be out of town this weekend. Won't be posting again until Monday most likely.)
We the dwarf guest on board, and the offer still waiting for joins, the ship still maintains it's regular trade, although the Captain announces that the Keel will be departing in three days, "So, if you've anything ashore that needs doing, get it done!" The holds are still fully stocked, but there is a steady trickle of cargo loading throughout the next day.
I'd like to see the new members introduce themselves to the 'veterans' and join up into the group.

Sal notes that there are several new faces upon the ship. She will take a moment to cast Detect Magic to allow herself to see the influence of The Weave around her before wandering around the group to introduce herself. "Blessings upon you. My name is Sal Coralblazer, I am the medic upon this ship. If you wouldn't mind I would like to give any newcomers a medical check before we embark in the upcoming days to ensure you are safe and seaworthy to make sure no ill falls upon you while we are away from land."
Nyhwll has dedicated most of his time aboard to settling into his new lodgings, though it is clear he takes to the process with a drifter's ease. He does not spend much time ruminating over their dwarven passenger's offer once done, and goes to the ship's board to jot a filigreed signature down on the notice. One flourish and satisfied sigh later, Nyhwll resigns himself to wandering the ship to expedite the process of meeting all the crew.
His attention caught by Sal's introduction, Nyhwll turns from whatever conversation he was having so that he can return the niceties. " Nyhwll Aloigné of House Lhyrandar; I am pleased to meet you, Lady Coralblazer! I doubt the sea will provide too much trouble for me, but any knowledge you gain from inspection will prove useful at some point, I've no doubt. You've no objections on my end. "
