Welcome to Inustwaith, a epic-fantasy homebrew world of my own creation. I’d like to DM some kind of campaign set here, but exactly what sort of campaign has been left up to you, the players! I’ll list Inustwaith’s six regions below, as well as the classes that most likely belong to each (this is not a requirement). If you’re interested, post what race/class you think you’ll play (this is very changeable), which region you’d like to start in, and what flavor of campaign you want (intrigue, war, exploration, etc.) I’ll tally it up and make a campaign.
In the center of the world both literally and figuratively is the White City, by far the largest settlement in Inustwaith. Built upon an ancient reservoir of Primordial magic, any number of cultures can be found intermingling here. Its strange magic also occasionally causes it to draw people from other worlds of the material plane at random, giving it a Sigil-like quality. (Any)
To its north is, well, the North. An incredibly vast wilderness of icy desolation, an ancient dwarven empire built into the Rime’s Ember mountains fights a brutal war against roving giants while numerous fey, beasts, and barbarian clans try to avoid collateral. (Barbarian, Fighter, Ranger)
To the White City’s east is the great forest of 森の家 (Mori Noya). Elves use crystals from gem dragons to give themselves psionic powers and fuel incredible magics, while searching the gloomy hollows of their forest for artifacts that are relics from a bygone age. (Cleric, Fighter (Psi Warrior), Monk, Mystic, Wizard)
To the east of the North and the north of Mori Noya is the Ring of Fire. A circle of volcanoes with strong ties to the Nine Hells, most of this area is blasted wasteland. It holds the remains of what was once a sacred order of clerics and paladins, so this is a popular pilgrimage destination. The few towns here are dirty slums populated by criminals, charlatans and pickpockets. (Blood Hunter, Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Warlock)
To the south of the White City are the Sun-Lands. A trade empire (think ancient Persia) sits within bleak dunes, while the roving tribes of shifters and beastfolk even farther south try to protect their ancestral land and culture from encroachment from the north. (Bard, Druid, Fighter, Ranger, Warlock)
To the west of all this are the Malachite Teardrops, a beautiful archipelago of tropical islands inhabited by xenophobic tritons. Within the jungles, the crumbling ruins of a forgotten civilization hide untold treasures.
We will be starting at level 5. I’m pretty liberal with what character options you use - any official race, lineage, class, or subclass is fine, as is Critical Role content and the Mystic (but not other archived unearthed arcana). UA races and subclasses are also OK.
Sounds interesting. Thinking a tiefling blood hunter or paladin from the Ring of Fire. Hmmm maybe a multiclass of the two at higher levels. Perhaps something along the line of a secret sect of a Paladin order that was formed to hunt the truly dangerous creatures.
Hmm, I'd be interested to see what sort of setting I could play in.
Name: Raiden Kurosaki Race: Beasthide Shifter Class: Wizard (Bladesinger) Region: Mori Noya Type of campaign: Balance of RP and Combat
Backstory: After the death of his mother, the only family member that was around to nurture him since their reunion, Raiden is now the prince and the leader of the Kurosaki clan located in the sacred lands of Mori Noya. Tirelessly working to help his people keep up with the rest of the world, the young prince sought to make his clan one of the strongest in the whole of the forest. He does have a few allies he can contact, especially Randy Wolftree and the shifters that reside in the Sun Lands, but his lessons from the past are the motivations for studying and training with his own folk as well as his human companion from the other side of the land. Despite studying and training every single day, there is something that he is unable to get past... unless if he can find what it is that has been weighing him down since his long-awaited reunion.
Type of campaign: Balance of all three but maybe more in combat
Backstory: After locating and entering a mysterious portal within Death Valley's National Park, Randy now resides in the Sun Lands, working for his own trade network throughout the region whilst taking care not to disturb the native shifters that also inherit this land. He came here in search for his long-lost older brother who also resides in this plane, but ended up befriending the Kitsune wizard Raiden instead whilst venturing deep into the Mori Noya forest in search of an artefact that he needed to acquire for his people (which the latter possessed out of curiosity). His mark was also an issue since he entered this realm and now he's trying to find some way to enhance his powers and use it for himself and his allies.
Wildland Shifters Pt 2 (Pt 1 with PyromaniIsDeadThankGod) Celci (The Lamb) - Non-Binary Changeling Sorcerer (Shadow Magic) Maya Kurosaki- Female Kitsune Cleric (Twilight Domain); Currently in Lancea Randy Wolftree - Male Human Artificer (Armourer); Currently in Crimson Sands of Time Shijiro Otsune- Male Kitsune Blood Hunter (Order Of The Lycan) Trojan Dseyller - Male Tortle Barbarian (Path of the Ancestral Guardian) Xenia Ironhide - Female Kobold Rogue (Soulknife)
Would love to throw my name in the hat. This game sounds fun, your setting is intriguing!
Name: Trey Von Calliway Class: Paladin (Conquest) Race: Shadar-kai (orphaned and raised by a human religious order) Region: Mori Noya
Type of Campaign preferred: War campaign sounds dope. That could hit a nice mix of combat but also exploration and intrigue, and moral dilemma/character growth/inter-party RP opportunity.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Name: Novalie Aion ( ddb.ac/characters/90494829/nKR5rr ) Ability scores: 11151315810 Class: Fighter (Echo Knight) (Potential for sorcerer multiclass down the line) Race: Variant human (Abberant Dragonmark feat) Region: Liking the vibe of Mori Noya; critically, the campaign doesn't really have to be where she's from. anywhere with renowned mages or maybe powerful clerics would draw her attention
Brief Background: Novalie is the estranged daughter of a powerful wizard woman, known for researching magic which has the potential to manipulate time itself. She was raised by her father, an old war veteran who these days makes his living owning a tea shop in a mid-sized community. Novalie was content to live her life building on this family business, until a mysterious - and painful - mark manifested near her collar. With it came strange, temporally anomalous powers and nightmares of other timelines, both seeming to increase in intensity over time. To discover the source of the mark - and if it was removable at all - she set out, in search mainly of her mother, but really anything that might help her better understand her particular condition. Type of Campaign Preferred: I sort of like the idea of, as Ravnodaus suggested, getting embroiled in some kind of war campaign. Could carry with it some level of political intrigue which is always a plus, so long as it doesn't go too overboard
hi there, interested in joining but currently working on my character back story. Any input on the current one i have would be appreciated.
I'm experienced in post by play but this the first time i am trying multiclassing..
Name: Ronin ddb.ac/characters/90497917/ahOjEg
Class: Fighter (samurai)lvl 4, Warlock (Hexblade) lvl 1 Race: Warforged Region: Ring of fire Brief Background: Not knowing what he is, where he came from, or what his purpose is, He (or it) wanders through a hellish landscape, not knowing which way he is going or why he keeps moving. However much time passes, he hears a small frequency sound in the distance, the only welcoming sound that He(or it) was heard since he started wandering in this hell. He (or it) stumbles upon a hilt of a blade, jammed in a stone covered in purple flame. The frequency begins to grow loader into an actual signal. "Weild me!" the signal shouts. He (or it) acknowledges the request, as if this blade handle is what he was searching for. As soon as he grabs it, the connection become complete. "Yes!" the blade exclaims, "Finally. i have been lost and without purpose. i can read your will as well, we are of kin." The stone of purple fire begins to ignite into a frenzy, engulfing around his metal body as the blades handle become a full blade once again. "I, like you, have lost my name and the purpose of my creation as much time has past in the hell. The last master who has used me to gain strength through combat, wanting to become a titled warrior in his lands called, a "Samurai". His titled as wielded me called "Ronin", a lower form of this kind of warrior. You, of no name and no purpose, will you carry on this will?" He (or it) nods instinctually, as his eyes begins to glow yellow. "Then we are in agreement... Ronin is what you will called form now on, until your earn the name Samurai. Let us escape this hell and find our purpose together..." With time, both of them fought lesser fiends and monsters of hell and found themselves outside the one of the volcanos of the Ring of Fire, exploring lands unknown to him to find himself (itself).... Type of Campaign Preferred: Down for Whatever (balanced roleplay and combat)
Name: Akhash Nefertem Ability Scores: STR 8 DEX 15 CON 14 INT 14 WIS 18 CHA 12 Class: Cleric, Grave Domain Race: Tabaxi (or whatever the in-setting equivalent is) Region: Sun-Lands Background: Akhash is a priest of the ancient god of death, Mahtat. His order acts as shepherds to the afterlife, bringing souls peace before they depart for the afterlife. The priests of Mahtat are also healers and scholars. Akhash was born the son of a priest, as was his father Wahdyeh. But things are not well in the kingdom of Kha. The dead have been restless, and the funerary rites meant to bring peace to the dead are not working. Akhash has been sent on a mission by his king to find out why. Personality: Akhash is a scholarly man with a regal bearing. A lifetime in the priesthood has insulated him from the harsh realities of life outside the temple walls. Type of campaign preferred: Epic fantasy with a good mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat
Backstory: Stalvard was raised by clerics in the thirsty town of Bittervale, deep in the wastes that surround the Ring of Fire. He joined the 9th Pilgrimage Escort when he was old enough and spent several years protecting caravans of devout believers from dangers that lie in the wilderness. One escort mission turned bloody and Stalvard barely escaped with his life. His holy order discharged him for cowardice and commanded him to return only when he had proof of his "honor unto death". He now roams far and wide, seeking others who may bear witness to his deeds and may - with luck - help him face death bravely.

Will everyone stop calling him "The Demogorgon"? It's his name, not a title!
Any ability score generation method in the PHB, standard equipment but add 30 gp.
