The overly large fairy, listening to the kitchen and gazing fondly at the knife floating before them, pipes up excitedly - "OOooh... cooking...? I love to eat! Dunno mussh 'bout how to cook stuff, but I'd like to learn..."
"You two can choose who gets the knife." Norwin says to the others as she sets down one of the crates. She looks at the wooden men. "Where do the sheets and other non-food supplies go? I suppose we should find rooms for ourselves and our potential guest."
Ulmuur looks at Roland, then to the fountain. "Let us get our chores done, then we can fill the fountain, yes? Good. Now, Norwin says she has rope. I think a big horse is best." As they get to the supplies, Ulmuur chuckles as Wil become a giant fairy. "See, Wil has the right idea. Bigger, you can move more!"
Ulmuur concentrates for a bit, then his features start to elongate. Black fur starts to sprout from not only his skin, but his clothes as well. In the mater of a few seconds, where Ulmuur stood, there is now a black Warhorse with white speckles throughout. He whinnies, then looks at Roland with his green draconic eyes that didn't change. Roland will hear in his head {Okay, I am going to try to get big. Then can you load me up? I do not have any hands, but I'm strong and can carry things!} He will go over the circle and get BIGGER (hopefully).
At Kitchens offer, Horse-Ulmuur will shake his head. Then he'll say into Wil's head {You should take it! It seems like you want it.}
After the supplies are moved, he will look to Roland and thinks to him {Should we get the water? I don't think I need to be a horse anymore, do I?}
Roland listens, and watches, and then...well then he watches Ulmuur turn into a horse. He stands their stupefied as he watches, but then, Blaine the Mono had been a talking train, right? How was this any more strange?
"Yes, I can load you up." Roland says, trying to normalize what just happened. He spends the next few minutes getting crates up onto Ulmuur's back and lashing them with rope from Norwin's effects, as well as his own. Once the stuff is moved, and no one is paying attention, he quickly bribes the little fox with some jerky from his rations so that he can start rolling barrels toward the fountain. "Don't know what this is, but could be important. Or could be nothin'. But once we find out, if we find out anything from doing this at least, well, then it can be off our minds."
"Whoa!" Manira exclaims when she sees Ulthuur turn into a horse. "I mean, whoa as in that's crazy, not to stop... cause you know, you're a horse and all. I've heard of such magic, but never seen it in action before. Impressive."
She helps load him up and then follows him to the kitchen to unload the items where required.

When Ulmuur sees Roland start moving the barrel, he will help. He revert back to a Dragonborn form, and asks Kitchen "Hello Kitchen. Is there a well nearby?"
As the group takes the Kitchen's warning to heart they hurry to get the supplies moved into the kitchen and place it in various places throughout the massive cooking area. They make good progress. Soon the kitchen is full of veggies, slabs of meat, drinks of a variety of kinds (mostly water) and others things. Kitchen seems delighted to have more supplies as they say "Excellent. This should last us awhile. Only a quarter stocked but seeing at the Sanctuary is only just beginning to save folks again I don't think we need to worry yet. Thanks ya'll. Also, fairy whose name I don't know, if ya wanna cook I'll teach ya just take the knife if ya wanna be the head chef."
There is a sudden roar in the courtyard outside. Something big. After the first roar there is some kind of noise. Like a large thump of something hitting the ground.
Kitchen seems delighted and says "Ah, the first one. I recognize that kind of roar anywhere. Seem you all will have your hands full. Alright, someone grab that knife and help me prepare some meat. Doesn't have to be fancy right now, although it should be, as they probably hungry. As to the well, there is one in the West Tower across the courtyard." Kitchen doesn't seem concerned and goes about their business. The knife still floating in the air for one of the adventurers to take. It doesn't take long before the kitchen is setup and ready to start carving meat and there were several whole deer in the supplies they had taken to the kitchen.
How will our adventurers approach whatever is outside in the courtyard? They can hear it moving out there. It's footsteps making small rumbles each time.

For you exploring the castle...
No roll needed but as the only one exploring the castle you only make it as far as the second floor with exploring. On the first floor you find quite a few things. It becomes clear there is three main sections on the first floor. There is the eating, dining and utility area that seems to houses a grand ballroom big enough to fit dozens of large tables in. there is a couple separate smaller dining areas as well. Seems that the entire section to the left of the fountain is dedicated to food, eating and large rooms for setting up whatever you want. there is no furniture in any of them beyond kitchen but its good to know you have the room. You do remember seeing a few fold up tables in the supplies Lady Hoppington provided though. There is also places to get laundry cleaned in this section of the castle.
Moving to the right side of the fountain room you find a much more purposeful area. There is what appears to be a court room. It is a circular room with seating of varying sizes with the smallest seats in the front and largest in the back. In the center is a podium with three pillars around it each adorned with chains. In from of this podium is a set of 5 seats. Each one empty and spaced close together behind a large desk that is all facing the podium. The entire desk, and chairs are all on a high rise to put them high above a medium sized creature but probably just about right for a large or huge being.
There appears to be clerical rooms beyond this courtroom. Various empty shelves built into walls of rooms in this area stand as a testament to what was probably once a bustling judicial system of some kind. You do find desks and chairs here. However, they are all old and worn with time. The are not rotted but they definitely need a bit of a touch up to clear them and some might need minor repairs. The only other thins you find in this section is a single extremely dangerous looking door. It's heavily reinforced and has many runes or magical nature carved onto it. You can actually feel the magic coming from it like a warning to not touch.
On the second floor you have time to check one room before you hear the roaring in the courtyard. You open up one door and inside you find something that defies logic as you know it. The door opens into a massive room that definitely should not fit. You know this because somehow someone has crammed an entire forest inside of this one room. The trees reaching high into what at first you think is a sky but if you look hard enough you can see that the ceiling is just very high. High enough to accommodate large trees. You can just make out the pattern of stone work on the ceiling though. The one thing you are certain of is that the inside of this room is much larger then it appears to allow. you'd have to explore it to find out how big but you can't see the far wall at all.
Roland you get the barrel of water to the fountain and begin to empty the contents into the fountain. The water begins to flow into the fountain and soon its flowing up and around the top globe then it seems to defy logic and gravity as the water spirals into a shape just in front of Roland. Its a copy of the top globe. the world of Vas. It spins slowly and Roland can see that there is slight coloration to water showing land types. Water, mountains, forests, deserts, tundra and more are all easily recognizable. The water globe seems to react and move towards Roland and its spins a bit and shows a land mass he's not familiar with. On this mass is a black stain. Water that isn't moving like the rest of the sphere of water.
Give me a survival check for figuring out where on Vas it is. Also, is there anything you would like to do with this globe of water now floating in front of you. It seems you can move it, spin it and interact with it in various ways.
Ulmuur helps Roland get the barrel to the fountain, but then hears the roar outside. "I think our guest has arrived. Should we ...." It's now that he sees Norwin run by. "Ahh, the direct approach."
Ulmuur leaves Roland to his barrel and follows Norwin outside. He will go cautiously, ready for a battle if needed. "I hope Wil started cooking something. It sounds big."
Manira is startled by the great roar from the courtyard, but seeing that Kitchen is not only not worried by this new arrival, but seeming to expect it, it helps calm her nerves. She starts heading that way and sees Ulmuur and Norwin heading in the same direction. "Well, looks like we are greeting our first guest... and he sure has made a first impression already!"

After staring oddly at Ulmuur, for a bit, he shrugs that off as well, and continues to assist the others for a bit with the carrying of supplies, then upon his return, asks the kitchen, "So... what are we gonna make first?", looking around the oddly animated room and all the foodstuffs and barrels they've hauled in, somewhat bemused at the idea of a self-actualized kitchen.
Hearing a roar outside, the drunken fairy gulps, then says, "Uhhh, that sounds right hungry, that does. 'Spose we'd best fix something quickly ... and a LOT of it...", looking about nervously, hoping for direction from the kitchen, the knife grasped tightly in his hand.

Those of you who make your way out to the courtyard find a gem dragon out there. An amethyst dragon. Normally regal and splendid in shining crystal like scales this particular one is a former shell of that regal spender. Where radiant purple and black scales once were, a red blood now pours over them. Where a pair of luminescent wings would often be displayed in awe inspiring ways, this huge dragon has only one wing a stump left on their right side where as a frayed and slashes membrane is all that gives the wing form on the other side. A large slash is cut across their side exposing tissue and flesh. One of their four legs is twisted at an odd angle and it is clear this dragon has just recently seen some combat of some kind and it does not look like they were winning. They roar again if any of you step out into the courtyard. A warning that requires no roll. Their keen eyes immediately focusing on any who step outside.
Blood drips from this injured creature as some of our heroes investigated the sounds from this new arrival. The creature seems poised to attack any who approach but maybe there is more to this sudden appearance of a dragon? (Insight checks and Medicine checks please)

You are able to pin point the location the black dead spot on the map is. You may not of been in Vas long but you have been able to check out various maps to get an idea of what the land looks like. You even remember the name of the continent. Larklandian. There seems to be something amiss in a place called the Lulanni pass. You play with the sphere of water a bit to try and make sense of what this means but it is difficult without any comparison for it's purpose. You do experiment a bit with the fountain though not just touching the water and spinning the globe of Vas but you also have the idea to touch the globe of your own world. When you do the water shifts into a larger version of your own homeworld but this time the entire thing is black and still. You spin the image of you world seeing almost all of it is black lifeless water save for some small patches here and there that see to still be flowing blue water. By far the majority is not though. Touching the fountain at the base brings back Vas and the one spot in Lulanni pass that seems like that. However, you also notice one more spot seems to have the black water. You almost missed it as it was smaller then a pin prick but there is it. One spot near a place mentioned. A place called Temble Port.

(Insight 9) The dragon is very scared and will immediately lash out at anyone that approaches it just out of a need of self preservation. The unfortunate part of this is that they are backed up against the Hall of Doors. Unless something is done about them you all cannot get back through to your homes at this time.
(Medicine 20) It's an adult or maybe young adult female dragon and she shows signs of having fought multiple other dragons or one much larger then her. She's on death's door though and needs healing to survive. The only thing keeping her up at all right now is the fact she is scared and adrenaline is pumping through her veins. The most pressing issue is the large slash along her side, its not all the way through but if she panics too much or tries to fight it might rupture, then what little flesh remains between her organs spilling out and the open air will be gone. She's definitely trying to shield that wound from you all.
The Gunslinger continues to work the fountain, back and forth between the image of his world and the black dots he finds at Vas. His heart rate rises. His breathing quickens. He fights his breathing to keep himself from panicking over what he sees before he finally forces himself to look away, to rise and step away from the fountain. He reaches up, his hand sliding under his hat, pushing through his hair like he's pushing the thoughts away, and then he takes a deep breath and reorients himself.
There was a roar. He remembered the roar but had ignored it until now. Then he decided to investigate, going to look for the others...
...and found them. Most of them anyway. And the dragon.
Roland stood at the back of the courtyard where the dragon had landed and gazed in wonder at the creature before him. No doubt it had been beautiful once, before whatever had happened. He slowly raised his hands and made a gentle pumping motion while uttering "Whooaa....whooaa now..." a few times.
He doesn't approach immediately as everyone sizes up the situation. He studies the creature and then kneels down, tossing his hat and poncho to the side, even laying his gunbelt on the poncho as he tries to look as small and unthreatening as possible. "Easy now. Eeeasssy. We mean no harm."
His eyes never leave the dragon, but don't meet it's eyes either as he tries to appear submissive. He simply stares at its chest and torso so he can see what it's doing and study its wounds.
"What are we doing with this thing? Anyone got any ideas? I might be able to heal some of its injuries. Anyone else?"

That moment when you should have gone with Drakewarden over Horizon Walker... XD
Roland is trying to present himself as not being a threat. Not sure if this is gonna get him killed later or not. Wasn't sure if a roll would be required or not so he's going to try Animal Handling in the same way he'd try to calm a horse so...yeah. Here goes.
