Zahira smiles at Flurry when she gets Trick's and her ice cream:
- Thank you! Mmmm, 2 coconuts and 3 blizzards. I guess I'll have to come back another day to try the Snowstorm Blizzard myself! - she says - We are from Rising Dawn. I don't really know any student from Larex, to be honest- and she glances at the pixie girl wondering if se could she be a Larex student - but there are good casters in Rising Dawn, too, you know? Well, in any case, thank you, Flurry, I have the feeling I'll be coming back here soon - she was definitly going to ask Arthur to come here with her some other day.
She goes to sit with the rest and stares at Zephyro, waiting to see his reaction when trying the coconout ice cream:
- Ahhhh, so you like it! Well well, it seems there's stil hope for you, after all! - she laughs, happily. Then she waits a little for Trick to finish typing and gives him his ice cream - Here, this one's for you. I hope you like it.
There's a moment when the rest are a bit busy (Zephyro talking to the pixie girl, Trick checking his phone again, Kuro ordering and Zim ... spacing out?) which Zahira uses to check her own phone while taking bytes of her delicious and well-deserved treat. She smiles at her uncle's text. She's eager to go home and have the rest of the evening to talk to him about what's transpired in the cafeteria. Then she replies Himari. Such a nice girl, asking if Zahira's all right after hearing what happened from Arthur. Zahira thinks that it would be great to spend some time with her during the following days, as she didn't really have any other female friend! Then she smiles fondly when she reads Arthur's new text. That boy ... to think such a random encounter was turning into ... well ... whatever it was turning into. But then becomes a little bit more serious when she replies to him. "No, Arthur, that hug was definitlely nothing to worry about. It was perfect", she thinks while she types her answer to him.
The last message she reads is from her mother. And it gets her so mad that she's about to drop the coconut ball.
- Aghhh! I don't believe this!! - she says, with anger in her voice and the breeze around her becoming a little stormy. And she shows Zephyro - and whoever wants to look - her crystal with her mother's message visible - See? An example of what I said before. Gods, she really gets under my skin when she says things like this.
The text reads: "Ahh yes, though we are happy to see you I must ask.. Have you taken the paladin class? Or perhaps the fighter's class? Tobias will be ecstatic to see you dear. He has been studying hard since he heard of you coming to school."
- ·Have you taken the paladin class? Or perhaps the figher's class?" - Zahira says, imitating Ayama's voice rather bitterly -Really! How many times will I have to tell her that I am, and will be, an artificer. Damn it.
She's definitely not answering that text right now. Perhaps she'll do it later, after going home and showing it to uncle Plash. He'll know better what to say to Ayama or even to his own brother Azmodias - Zahira's father. He always knew what to say to calm down the whole situation. For a while at least.
She receives yet another message from Himari and from Arthur. "Oh... OH!?? Well.. Uh.... Hehe... Sooo ... many ... things", she thinks to herself. A good part of these two messages makes her stare at Zephyro for a moment. Well ... weren't things becoming rather intertwined? She typed back quickly and then kept her phone away, wanting to spend the rest of the time talking to her friends and not staring into the crystal anymore.
- Zim, you ok? You seemed a bit away for a moment there. Hey, how did you like your treats? And you Kuro? I'm guessing no ice cream can be better than a mother's, but I hope you liked it a little at least! - she tries to smile warmly at them, ignoring the rush of anger that has overcome her after reading her mother's message.
Zahira's question had rescued Zim from his stupor. The new melodically sweet layers of depth in her voice now detected by the half-elf made his head swim a bit, but Zim was beginning to adjust and acclimate quickly.
Realizing that he hadn't tried his desert yet, the bard picked up his spoon and dipped it in some of the soupy melt that had pooled around the top of the chilly treat. Shyly bringing the creamy sample to his lips, Zim sipped and felt the jolt go through him. What should have been a sweet dimension door to comfort had proved to be a shock of electricity that blew up his taste buds and mule-kicked his brain. Though a transistor in his nervous system had exploded, outwardly he only shut his eyes and grimaced a little. Somewhat shakily he mused, "I believe I might not be ready to eat anything just yet after all."
Realizing that he hadn't yet addressed Zahira's question, Zim recalibrated himself as well as he could manage at the moment. "Yes, thanks for checking,"his voice seeming to find its balance again. "I just have a lot on my mind. I guess, I'm mostly impressed with how well everyone seems to be handling themselves after the cafeteria." Rubbing the back of his neck he chuckled lightly, "Everything just seems kind of different to me now." Letting out a sigh he concluded, "I hold nothing against any of you guys, so I hope none of you take this personally. But I, for one, cannot wait for this day to be over."
- Don't worry. I mean, I guess everyone has their rythms, Zim. But if it helps anyhow, though, I'll set my own example. Though I may seem better now - as opposed to how I felt in the cafeteria - it's only because I know that in a few moments I'm going to be talking about that with my uncle. But - she adds rather shyly - let me tell you that I'm pretty sure there's going to be more crying than talking from my side...
She blinks as if amazed to have been able to be this straightforward about something she has really never shared aloud. Then she just focuses again on what little remains of her ice cream, remembers that after the fight she texted her mother and brother promising to visit them. She had done that in search of a support similar to her uncle's, but in turn this got her to receive that message from her mother that had upset her a lot. So she muses:
Ah he had been so focused on his messages he hadn't really been paying attention to much around him. A couple of things his mother had mentioned had got his tail wagging in a happy manner. He tucked the crystal away once he finished his last messages and looked up as Zahira offered him the ice cream she had picked out for him. His ears flickered slightly as he reached out to take it. He tilted his head slightly. It looked so pretty.
"Oh! Thank you!"
He followed after them and sat down. He didn't know how he would feel about taking the front lines when it came to battle, but he would help out wherever he was needed.
"I am not as good at front line combat, but I will do my best! I will train more with it too so that I can be helpful to everyone!"
He took a bite of the ice cream, and a shiver went down his spine causing his tail to puff up a bit. Oh! This was unexpected. He made a light purring noise satisfied with this frozen treat. Why hadn't something like this existed where he came from? He was going to have to tell his mother and father about this. They were going to have to let the elders know. He bet they would have liked eating something like this. He looked around at everyone and smiled faintly. Does he like coming here? This thought seemed to just slip into his mind, and he gave a slight shake of his head. No need to think of that right now. He could ask his family about it later.
He looked at the message Zahira was showing everyone, and he frowned slightly. That was her mother that had messaged her that? It was hard to imagine that when he thought of the messages from his own mother. Of course, the way she had been speaking to him in text was a little odd lately, but it wasn't like she would ever say anything like that to him. It seemed rather rude. He looked to Zahira. She had every right to be angry about such a thing.
"Oh! I love this iced cream. It is good. Sweet and cold. It makes me happy!"
His tail wagged slightly. He didn't know what he should say in regard to what her mother had said to her. Was there anything he could say? He wondered what kind of conversation he would end up having with his parents once he had got home. Only so much could be conveyed over this crystal thing.
As Zim looked about seeing the mote of light flash, he could for a moment hear a string of viola something the rest of the party could not hear. Only for a moment, it was than that Zim's crystal had flashed for a moment.
Zim's text (cause I know you prefer it here for Zim ^^ I'll put a spoiler tag)
Put your spoiler here. Zim knew whom it was, his father Herron. Though his last name was different his mother keeping her own maiden name and passing it upon Zim. It was certainly rare to hear from Herron but here was his number!
"Greetings and salutations Zimian Indigo Badabim, it is with pleasure that I am here to inform you that I will be visiting within one weeks time. I had spent time in Crystal Meadows not long ago and I humbly apologize for not visiting you. I trust you are doing well in school, whatever school of discipline you choose to undertake I know you will excel in. I speak not from pride of one's genetic line but of you're own virtue and character. I have heard you've taken an interest in magic and music, it seems are lessons of courts and the arcane have served well. Perhaps sometime I shall take you to one of my meetings as an attendant. So that you may learn the happenings of Spiral's politics. I wish you good evening and look forward to seeing you once more my son."
The genasi smiled at Zephyro's generosity to his friends, before handing an ice cream to Kuro with a bright smile.
"Enjoy that wispy flavor!"
Zahira had talked a bit of Rising Dawns very own casters.
"Ahh but they say Rising Dawn is more known for practical casters! Ones that uhh what is it... Battle ze goblins and blow them up? Is this not true? Do they study at Rising Academy? Ahh I did not know this! Here I thought only Larex had studied!"
The pixie had looked at Zephyro, her spectacles falling loosely as she adjusted the collar of her small shirt.
"O-Oh hey.. Are you here to m-make fun of me...? I know I look terrible I'm sorry I can just go. I-I didn't mean to stare.."
She looks out the door fluttering her small wings ready to bolt at a moments notice.
OOC
For anyone that wishes to head home we can do that if you wish! I know Zephyro is interacting with the pixie but the others may and after that we can do the week timeskip up to you all though I certainly don't wanna rush anything but I don't want anything to feel stalled out for anybody either!
The young elf smiles at Zahira's reaction to his liking the coconut icecream. When she starts talking to Trick, he takes that moment to check his crystal again before addressing the pixie girl.
"Why in the world would I want to make fun of you? Don't be embarrassed!"
He jumps slightly when Zahira makes her anger known and shows him her mother's text. He laughs a little, "Heh, I've been getting similar messages from my father." He clears his throat and continues in a deeper voice, "An Aethylmir should not be fighting on the front as a simple vanguard soldier to die."
He sighs, "Yep, that's my father for you."
His crystal buzzes again, and he quickly pulls it out and responds. As he does this he catches Zahira's eye as she looks up to stare at him. Confused, he raises an eyebrow as if to ask. "What?" Though he doesn't say it out loud.
Putting his crystal away and hoping he doesn't need to pull it out again, he finishes his icecream and spends the rest of the time talking with his new friends.
In response to Zim he says. "None taken. I completely understand. Hopefully the next few days at school will go a lot smoother."
To Trick, "That's all any of us can do! Hopefully we can all be useful to each other and learn to build off each other's skills."
Kuro looks up briefly at the sound of his name, then back down at his crystal when it buzzes. He pauses for a moment, expression blank as ever, and then shoves the device back into his pocket. The ice cream was good, but... yeah he prefers his mom's ice cream. Shrugging he stirs the ice cream for a moment, making it a little smoother before saying, "Its good."
He glances up at the text message that Zahira is showing off, frowns, then looks away. He...doesn't really have anything to say to that. Even if his father wasn't as...well the way he is, Kuro didn't feel like he ever really had a choice in what to be. To be honest if he had a choice he wouldn't be adventuring in the first place. He'd rather stay at home and... well, he'd figure out something to keep himself busy. When it becomes clear that Zephiro is in a similar situation to Zahira, Kuro briefly imagines trying to imitate his own father... but the act would probably kill him (his lungs at least). Instead he gives a quiet huff, and focuses on his ice cream.
He is quiet through the whole conversation, eyes following who's speaking, but he doesn't join in himself. Part of him is ready to go home, but another part of him wants to stay away from home...and Father... for as long as he can manage. He blinks when the fairy responds to Zephiro, but doesn't comment. Instead he pointedly looks away from them both, finding himself suddenly uncomfortable.
If anyone else decides to leave, then he likely will as well. He won't be the first person to go, but if one or two of the others decide to call it a day then there isn't much of a point in sticking around.
Zahira smiles widely at Zephyro's imitation of his father and this seems to relax the genasi's anger enough so as to forget it for a short while. At least, until she talks to Zim and reminds herself of her mother's message. But it's not the half-elf's fault at all. Not even her mother's, really...
She sighs, clearly tired. What a strange day it has been. So many things - several good, others not so much - in just a few hours. With a last look at her new friends she just stands up and says:
- I think I'll be leaving now, guys. I really need to rest a little. Oooor a lot, haha. I think you are all feeling the same as I do, so... let's see each other tomorrow at school, yeah? Be seeing you guys! And be reading you in our amazing and cleverly-named "KZZZT" group! - she smiles, waves them good-bye and walks out of the ice cream shop to go to her uncle's house.
Zahira heard her uncle's curses, went upstairs, entered the workshop and said:
- Uncle, language!!
This time, she was the one saying it, for a change! She grinned and sat next to the water genasi, taking a look at what he was working on:
- Hey, is this piece for Tobey's castle? Or is it for another project?
She waits for his reply, but it doesn't take too much for her uncle to understand that she's just making time to talk about what she really needs to talk about.
- So ...today...yeah. I don't really know where to begin, you know? The day went pretty normal at first. I was a bit nervous about finding the correct class and teacher, signing up, going to the assembly, finding a party. But everything turned out well! I did all that! I mean, I even met some new friends - apart from my current teammates - which is something I didn't really expect to happen. And we - my party, which at the time was Zephyro, Kuro, Zim and me - well, we were just about to hit the city and explore together to get to know each other when we heard ruckus in the cafeteria and... and ...
She stops and her eyes just fill with tears:
- ... we got into this fight, uncle. The cafeteria was surrounded by tons of gremlins and we just went head in. Which was probably a stupid thing to do? Maybe we should had just ran away? Or called some professors? I don't know, I guess we thought we could manage? Oh gods, uncle. We did manage to stop whatever the gremlins were trying to achieve with their leader stirring a cauldron and the rest just surrounding and attacking us. But hurt us pretty badly. I mean, Zephyro and Zim went unconscious - Zim twice! - and I really thought that Zephyro was going to die! I got pretty hurt, too - she shows Plash her arm, which she's still hasn't really cured with magic - We got really lucky as Kuro could find help and brought Arthur, one of the persons I had met just earlier. And then Trick, which is now in the party with us, suddenly appeared to help! But be was pretty hurt, too. Luckily I was able to heal him! But I did it just as Arthur was grabbing me to get me out of trouble because I was about to be knocked out....!
She stops and sobs:
- I was so scared! It was all...I really thought we were going to die! I ... I even killed a gremlin with a fire bolt that got out of hand ... I mean ... I c-couldn't .... I couldn't controll it ... it just happened!
She keeps telling him everything. How they kept fighting, the laughter spell that overcame many of them, Kuro's missiles, Zim's standing up again, Zahira tinkering the stone and the ponytail holder, Forthright appearing...
- I was so shocked when everything ended that I couldn't even speak for a while. Even my breeze disappeared for a moment. It was just as if my body moved of its own accord but I was wasn't present, you know? And I sent you and mom a message just to know that you where there for me. I... I even huged Arthur! And I know what you said about boys, but he's just ... he's kind, and he did save me, you know?
She stops for a moment and tells uncle Plash the final thing that she didn't expect at all and had upset her so much:
- Can you believe that when mother answered back she had the nerve to ask if I had signed up for paladin or fighters class? After everything that happened... gods, I was so enraged! I still am! Did I sign up for paladin or fighter...? For god's sake, uncle, I did save Zephyro by tinkering a ponytail holder. And I found help by tinkering a damned stone!! But I'm pretty sure that if I tell this to mum and dad they'll just dismiss it because that is not a thing any knight would do! You know, maybe Arthur should be their son instead of me being their daughter! He's a paladin after all!
She looks at her uncle wide eyed and covers her mouth with her hands:
- I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I'm just ... tired ...and upset. And I should probably heal this, right? - she suddenly remembers Forthright gave her a slot back and uses it to heal her arm. The wound is totally cured and there's no scar left.
Kuro stares after the pixie for a moment after her show of leaving. What was that all about? Once that moment passes, he decides to take his leave as well.
It takes him a good long while to get home, as he has no intention of sparking his asthma before he gets back. He has every intention of slipping into his room through his window, and with his mother's sharp eyes and ears she might just hear him wheezing if he isn't careful. If he does get caught... well he can just say he's trying to be adventurous or something and see what Father makes of it...Mom will probably realize his reasons, but he doubts she will say anything about it with Father around. When he finally gets home, he glances around to see if any of the cats are out...if they are they might start mewling when they catch sight of him and he doesn't have anything to give them to make them be quiet. If the coast is clear, then he heads to his window and tries to open it. He's never actually tried this before, but fortunately he'd left it open a bit after dumping his breakfast out that morning.
Stealth: 10
(Not sure if climbing in should require a roll as well?)
(I'm fine with doing the nighttime scenes here on the thread if everyone else is. For big secrets (and the text messages) I do prefer private chat, but I actually liked the way we opened this campaign by showing a glimpse of everyone's home life. It gives the thread the feel of a movie with multiple main characters, so I think keeping that tone works well for this thread. Though, if it would be easier/faster to run the nighttime scenes in the private chats and do the time skip here I'm fine with that too. ;D)
"Nice to meet-" Zephyro starts to respond just before the pixie takes off. Unsure of how to take that reaction, he shrugs and turns back to his friends. Once Zahira announces that she's going home, he nods and says, "I'd best be off as well. I have some...things... I have to do when I get home. Of course! I'll see you all tomorrow!"He waves goodby to Zahira, then heads home himself.
Once there, he heads strait up to his room to drop his things off before taking a shower. Luckily, his face hadn't sustained much damage, most of his injuries being half-healed scratches and bruises along his ribs, and a few cuts on his arms. Good, he'll be able to hide them better that way. He has no way of healing them magically, so they will have to heal naturally. Redressing, he heads back downstairs to look for Shaylin or his parents.
OOC I already did Kirai's in private but I can do the home stuff here on the thread!
Zahira
Her uncle had flashed a light grin to her talking of language but he had known that something else was truly on her mind. He than let her begin, first she was slow but slowly had spiraled out into a massive story. One that hadn't bothered the usually studious genasi. He had taken his hand patting her on the head with a soft sigh as he let her carry on with the second half of her story. It was.. A lot but he only watched maintaining eye contact the entire time before completely responding.
"Ahh yes, that is a castle for little Tobias dear, I know what I say of adventures and of boys. To be careful and weary of both, however you seem to have good judgement. I am glad this Arthur and Trick had come to aid in time. As for the Firebolt running stray.. Hopefully Silas or a teacher was able to revivify more for you're sake than the creatures if I am being honest. It knew what it was getting into by breaking into a school full of adventurers. I am.. Proud how well you all had done but I am sorry for the duress you've been put under."
He had taken his long blue arms before hugging her close before sighing upon hearing of his siblings. He seemed surprised by her statement on Arthur being their son.
"Do not apologize, there is far worse you could say or do. Some nobles act out, others become fallen and some simply... Shut down entirely. You still maintain a somewhat healthy relationship with them which is emotionally mature of you my little gust of terror. You're father and mother are.. Impulsive and a emotionally driven I am afraid which by itself isn't wrong however.. It can lead to moments like this. They are.. We are lucky to have you. I know in time they will come to see that Zahira. I will help oversee some of you're studies perhaps strengthen you're magic so you feel less.. Unprepared for a situation like this. It is concerning that simple gremlins had somehow got in the school. They are mischievous and somewhat clever but.. Not to that degree. Hmm.."
Zim
As Zim's party begins to leave this gives the young half a chance to make it back home or perhaps he could explore the town?
(If home)
If Zim is to go home he would see his mother, food ready on the table with many different exotic vegetables many wildland greens from Starkwood that appears to be the theme of the night. Of course there was plenty of ham and other meats to balance the meal out and it was clear she had made.. Too much food for the two of them simply.
"You're home! Zim are okay? I heard the school had an incident today! The Knights and Police are working on it. Did you get you're fathers text? He'll be coming next week maybe he'll have a clue of whats going on."
Zephyro
Zephyro's attempt to talk with the pixie hadn't gone exactly well it would seem. However he had certainly dealt with worse today! Zephyro had made it home with his mother and father and his sister as well ready to go. Suit's and dresses all around they were certainly dressed for the occasion to set off.
"I hope you're feeling all right for this son."
"Ahh, I hope the Chevaliers are together sometimes Nimue's boys are a bit... Wild and out and about."
"Mom.. Probably cause these are boring.."
Shaylin! Mind you're manners dear.
"Yes mother.. So is it true big bro!? Did you get to punch a bunch of gremlins?! I bet you took out a dozen with just one arm!!"
Upon setting off the family had came into a large vehicle with a man ready to drive for them. It was of course there beloved butler from this morning! He had given each child a small smile before setting off. After a few minutes of driving the family had made way to the Chevalier residence which was a veritable mansion! Leaving their family butler in the car he had offered a small wave before they came to the door. Only for another butler, an older human man with a silver beard and white hair to open. He seemed friendly and a pep in his step despite coming on in years.
"A pleasure to see you all, you may call me Walter please come on in."
With that the family had done exactly that, the mansion being large as it was. Walter had asked the family to wait a bit before eventually Arthur had came down in a white suit, the one he had worn to school no less! His father and mother alongside his siblings had also made an appearance!
"Hello! I am Lance Chevalier the eldest son and a pleasure."
He had smiled to Zephyro and Shaylin both.
Lance Appearance
Put your spoiler
"I am Gwen Chevalier though I am sure you are already aware."
(Gwen's Appearance)
Put your spoiler here.
"Gawain Chevalier, as and beside me is my wife Nimue Chevalier."
(Gawain Chevalier Appearance)
Put your spoiler here.
Arthur and Lance both had a rather friendly expression their mother was a slender beautiful woman with somewhat toned skin, a soft smile but a focused gaze. Gawain and Gwen however had never once broken into a smile instead retaining a rather stern gaze. Though Zephyro can see Gawain and Athyren stare at one another. Only one with a father like Zephyro's would notice, Gawain's expression had appeared.. Somewhat less intense than that of his own fathers. The same had gone for Nimue and Fayla had a smile between the two of them? (For them this will require an insight check.)
Lance however was looking dead on toward Shaylin while Arthur had looked onto Zephyro. It was than Gawain had looked to his three children.
"Have either of you brought an extra?"
"Heh.. Not me dad sorry."
"Well.. I invited one but she was busy.. So... I invited Himari!"
"Of the Sato family..? I see."
"Nice little bro! She's kinda cute!"
"What..? Hey Zephyro! Man these suits are tight aren't they?! Haha!"
Though Himari hadn't arrived yet Walter had begun to guide them toward the diner.
OOC I can do pictures for you're family if you want for Zephyro or if you'd rather not destroy how you imagine them it's up to you I always ask when it comes to PC's involved in backstories. I have one exception to an NPC in Zim's past but for reasons haha
Kuro
Kuro's fears and worries had come to fruition the cats were indeed meowing but in reality he himself was not quiet enough. His mother had come to his room with a key in hand, waiting for him upon the bed with a slight sigh and a shake of her head.
"Really? Most kids sneak out.. Not sneak in dear. You're father desperately wanted you to recount the tales of you're 'Daring deeds" in combat today. He's been excited in the living room all day Kuro, but... You do look rather drained don't you...? If you would prefer.. I could tell him you aren't feeling well."
Kuro lets out a huff as he shuts the window. This was...much what he'd expected honestly.
He looks up at his mom, pondering the option of feigning illness before letting out another sigh, "He'll probably just come in here if you tell him that." He pushes back his hood, then shoves his hands in his pockets. Even if he really wasn't feeling well, Father would likely just tell him to 'buck up' and act like an adventurer. Plus, the last thing he wanted was for Father to decide and invade his room--then there really would be no escape. Still, he has no clue how to go about recounting the day's events. But, what choice does he really have?
After a moment of hesitation he asks, "What did Forthright tell him?" He glances towards the door, not really wanting to go to the living room, but also knowing he's going to have to get this over with sooner or later. "I guess it doesn't really matter..."
He gives the window a glance as if considering joining the cats outside, listening to whatever response his mother gives. Once she's finished talking, he lets out another huff before starting towards the living room.
"I'm alright father." He smiles, then gives a nervous laugh when Shaylin mentions 'punching a bunch of gremlins' he puts a hand on her shoulder and starts leading her towards the door. "Haha..Uh, well... I'll tell you about it later. Heh heh."
Zephyro is a bit surprised to learn that Arthur has a brother. He nods to Lance and returns the older boy's smile, "Pleasure to meet you as well."
He bows to Gwen, "And I am Zephyro," He straitens and smiles down at her, "Though you are also probably already aware of that."
He gives Gawain and Nimue a slight bow as well. He notices the looks shared between the adults.
Insight on the adults: 16
Zephyro himself, while he maintains a trained pleasant expression, feels like someone is scraping theoretical fingernails against the imaginary blackboard in his head. Are the adults planning something? He glances back to the Arthur and his siblings. Why is Lance staring at Shaylin? He fights to keep himself from stepping closer to his sister.
Insight on Lance: 7
Luckily, Arthur speaks up and draws the young elf's attention. "Oh. Haha, yeah. You got that right!"
Allowing Walter to guide them towards the dining room, Zephyro glances at Gwen. Arthur wasn't lying, the girl does look scary, but that is no excuse to not act like a gentleman to her.
Taking his place at the table, he addresses Gwen, "I'm guessing you also attend Rising Dawn? Which class are you studying?""Idiot! Why would you ask that? Now she's going to ask you the same thing!"
OOC:
(Go for it! I'd love to see how you picture them! :D Also, not sure what's going on with it, but for some reason the map isn't working for me...)
(OOC: Can I have pictures of my family, too? I'd love it! 😍 Maaaan, that manor is BIG!)
Zahira feels a little better after spilling out everything with Plash. She really had needed that hug from him, but specially to be heard and understood by an adult that wouldn't submit her to criticism but instead be caring and even proud of her.
She answers to some of his comments:
- Yeah, the Principal did revive the gremlins. But it's going to be difficult to forget the aspect of that one, uncle ... I almost melted half of his body! - she shakes her head and sobs a little after remembering it. - I suppose I'll have to get used to seeing things like that, but that was the first time that it happened to me and I ... I ...well, it was awful!
She manages to smile when the water genasi calls her "gust of terror" again. She had liked that when she read it in his previous crystal message. At that moment she just hugs him harder. Why couldn't her parents be a little more like him? His next words make Zahira stare at Plash:
- You ...you're proud? - she blinks - That makes me happy, uncle. After the incident ... after I rested ... I did think on what I did and I though something similar about myself. I think I did well!! I even levitated the cauldron for a while so that the leader couldn't stir it so much! So I used my artificer knowledge but also my racial traits! I think that's cool! Ahhh...but I'm so happy to hear you say that. I know you say that it is important to be aware of one's achievements, but hearing it from other persons is ... well, it's nice! I hope mum and dad will say that someday too. You say they'll end up seeing it. Well, I will try to trust you in this as I trust you in everything else. But I will probably will get desperate from time to time and still need your encouragement, uncle.
She stops for a moment, thinks about something and then adds:
- Uncle, this Arthur ... he's nice. I know I've only know him for a day but... I really like him. And I feel better if I'm honest and straightforward with you about this. But ... you know... he's from a very important family. Like VERY important. He's a Chevalier. And that sounds like scary to me? Because if mom and dad react they way they do, can you imagine a conversation with his parents? And I say this because he invited me to his home today because my friend Zephyro was assisting too. I declined because I wanted this time at home with you. In any case: can you imagine what reaction would I get if I said in that dinner that I go around melting gremlins and tinkering stones and ponytail holders? Pffff....!
She pauses.
- In any case, Arthur seemed very impressed haha I don't know how many times he's said today that I'm very smart! He even said that I would make a fine Artificer Knight! - she laughs - But that is impossible, right? I mean, there are no such things as Artificer Knights. What a crazy idea!
Zim had remained in a daze throughout the rest of the time his team and he spent talking. One by one, he watch them go. He made sure to give all the best salutations to those he could as they left and explained that yes, he was fine to sit by himself for a bit before he would head out. Once alone, he took a deep breath and let it out. The day had been such a roller-coaster from the very start. He reveled in simple solitude for a few moments, and some of the edge from the days chaos slid off of him. Feeling a bit lighter, he decided he better get a grip on what was going on with his senses.
Focusing on the now completely melted pool of blizzard soup in front of him again, Zim considers the additional ghostly glow of colors around the dish and the table the dish sat upon. Everything he saw now seemed to have a soft semi-transparent "glow" of different colors and mixtures of colors. At that moment, all of the "auras" seemed to be moving; expanding and contracting like they were breathing. Breathing. Was that all it was? It appeared to Zim as though the more that he made his breathing even and calm, the more the "auras" subsided. They didn't seem like they were about to go away completely any time soon. When they subsided as far as it seemed they would, all of the items of the world around him appeared simply to glow lightly.
Picking the spoon up once more, he tried some more of the desert. The jolt he had experienced before had hit him a lot less roughly than the first time, but everything still tasted so sweet, rich and sharp that he couldn't discern any flavors that were familiar to him at all. Still, it wasn't bad. The stimulation of his taste buds reminded the rest of him that he was getting pretty hungry. That's right, he had completely skipped breakfast! Disposing of the trash and returning the dish to the counter, Zim gave a grateful smile to Flurry and said, "Thanks."
Outside of the shop, the world tested his new calm. He was acutely aware of the change in atmosphere and the increased range at which sounds were reaching him from. He lost "control" of the auras for just a moment, but with another deep breath in and out, Zim "made" the renegade colors snap back to their surface covering state. He was getting the hang of this, he thought.
Heading in the direction of home, Zim found himself thinking of the upcoming arrival of his sire. The man's opinion meant the world to Zim, though he had never lacked for encouragement from his father. The hard truth was, however, the man was often busy. Also, there was always the matter of the divorce. It had been hard not to feel somewhat abandoned despite his papa's best efforts to make his son still feel like he's an important part of his life. Zim sighed. What a paradox everything was! And then there was the matter of the need to tell his father how he had been knocked out twice in his first fight. He really didn't want to even think of that.
Along his path, Zim became aware of a melody of sorts floating through his mind. Deciding he couldn't determine the source of the notes, he tentatively tried translating the ditty into a whistle and was immediately almost knocked flat. All of the auras grew with more than colors this time, causing Zim to stop in his tracks. This time light emanated from the auras and fed them. It looked to the young bard as though the world had been set ablaze for an instant. The mixture of light and colors completely consumed him before he hit the 4th note. On that note he stopped; as did the bombardment. Zim's retina's recovered from being cooked briefly, and the world came back into focus. He hoped briefly that his life was not in danger. He would need to be more careful!
The auras were restricted to their respective objects once again, but the items they surrounded glowed a little softer than before they exploded in his face. Zim's stomach growled. He needed to get home. He needed to tell his mother about this insane day and find out details about papa's arrival.
Not noticing the miniature statuette of a gremlin striking at a figure that resemble himself on the ground, Zim took off in a trot towards home.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kuro
Kuro's mother had let out a soft sigh followed by a quiet smile.
"Maybe he would insist but I'd try to convince him but.. If you're sure son."
With that she had begun to guide Kuro back downstairs. There was a large table of food prepped for some reason? Meats and other various sorts of delicacies and his father looked like he was.. Wearing his old adventuring cape? His mood was certainly shifted from earlier today as he had a hearty smile upon his face. The draconic sorcerer flashed a grin as he offered Kuro a seat.
"Ahh! Kuro come come! You must regale me with the tales of you're daring adventure! You had me worried for awhile! Here I thought you hadn't the zest for venturing forth but here you are victorious! "
For Kuro this would possibly be.. The happiest he had seen him. Well except for when Kuro told his father and mother he once had made a friend but that was.. Awhile ago. It'd been some time since Kuro's father had smiled around Kuro.
Zephyro
Shaylin had pouted at Zephyro when he said he would share later but had gone along. Introductions were made before heading to the diner. Gwen had looked to Zephyro with a rather straight laced look.
Arthur's own mother had looked to Zephyro's behind that smile was a certain air of.. Intensity? However it appeared both of the family heads had shared a somewhat mutual respect. The Chevalier head himself seemed a bit.. Frustrated but it was hard to say at what. Zephyro could tell his own father however was more than happy to be here even if he was silently judging Arthur's lack of etiquette. Zephyro couldn't however get much of a read on Lance it would seem. Arthur had decided to sit beside Zephyro. Needless to say Zephyro's parents were a bit.. Disappointed by this. Gwen had sat across from him as Arthur nodded toward Zephyro with a grin.
"We gotta go out and work out sometime!"
"Son.. Try to give master Zephyro a moment to breathe."
Gwen had looked at Zephyro tilting her head a bit confused by his question.
"I'm surprised you had asked, many know the Chevalier's consist of Paladins exclusively. However unlike Arthur I have taken my oath, I am an oath to the crown."
"Course you have sis you're a senior that isn't fair!"
Some time had passed as Walter had entered the room with another "Guest"
Put your spoiler here.
(Himari in dress)
Himari had offered a curtsy.

She was in a rather elegant kimono as she seemed tempted to sit beside Zephyro but had decided against it. Instead sitting next to Arthur.
"Heh.. She's my plus one"
"Jeez... She's gorgeous Arthur! Nice!"
"Lance! C-Come on!"
Zahira
(Uncle Plash below ^~^)
Put your spoiler here.
"Yes.. Taking the life of another is not easy even from a distance.. The arcane can be at times.. Terrifying. No one says you have to get used to such horrors.. You can always learn more control little gust."
He had offered a rather deep chuckle before returning the hug back with matching force. He wasn't always an affectionate man but when it came to Zahira or Tobias that was a completely different story. He had smiled as he stroked her hair softly behind her ear before taking a step back to listen further to her tale.
You did well little gust, putting the enemy out of sorts. That is indeed well thought out, however had you're party targeted those who seemed weakest? Or perhaps used a narrow corridor to funnel the enemies carefully? Did you're frontline stay close? What is you're frontline? You're actions have weight and you certainly made a difference but the parties actions are important as well. Still I will not lecture you too much on you're first fight, honestly most first years would have.. Well perished. Many of them are still taking the first steps of adventuring and some say because of our education system that students are weaker than what adventurers were back than.I suppose it's because we don't want to hone ones talent through life or death struggle.. Who'd want that for the new generation? Besides this system may seem inferior but the seniors at that school are all mostly gifted. More so than even a lot of our actual sellswords around here! What I'm saying is.. Don't push yourself.. Too hard okay?"
He had cleared his throat patting her head as she spoke of her parents with a slight nod.
"You're parents are.. Not too different from you. They are emotionally charged beings believe it or not, more emotional than logical in fact. I am told I always lacked passion in the family. They want a life of heroism and a romanticized heroes tale for you. They are afraid these books and studies will.. Shut you out from such a life. That you're style of magic won't be accepted well by Burguss.. I will always be here to encourage you and maybe even at times lecture you. I will always be proud of you.
Her father had wrinkled his nose upon hearing that it was the Chevalier's. (Insight check) it was clear he was trying to disguise some sort of emotion from hearing that name?
"I've heard of the Chevalier's, you're parents have in fact dealt with them. As well as the Aethylmir's. Though you're parents agreed to let the Aethylmir's meet with the Chevaliers first as to not overwhelm them. You're afraid what the Chevaliers will think of you're tinkering? What they think is.. Unimportant you should follow you're heart. That is one thing I do not agree with you're parents. I'm sure Arthur is nice for.. I mean I'm sure he is nice. However, It was a wise course of action to decline that dinner. I would not control you're life but you do not want to meet that man.. Gawain Chevalier, the head of the Chevaliers. You're parents may insist you should meet him but.. I beseech to you. Do not trust that man."
"That being said.. I'd normally say not to trust boys and I stand by that judgement but.. If you wish to talk to Arthur I will not stop you child. I would like to meet him one day and we can speak of.. Melting gremlins and tinkering stones heh heh.. He is right on both accounts however. You are smart! Also Artificer knights in Burguss.. Though possible is rare. Straus is the nation who had the first artificers in fact it is where I spent most of my time studying. That being said, it may be possible but the tensions between Burguss and Straus after the greatwar.. Many artificer's were double agents.. Distrusted in Burguss I'm afraid."
Zim
On the way home Zim would see the abandoned warehouse across the ice cream shop. All the motes of energy.. Turning from a light hue to a dark red before he could hear faint singing.. That singing was cut short by the cry of a violent scream before he was sent back to reality. Whatever it was that warehouse.. Had an ominous feeling about it.
Zim's father was at home standing straight in the living room speaking with his mother.
Put your spoiler here.
As Zim had entered the house his father had the same aura as always, one of a polite ambassador coming to visit a nation to maintain relations. However the stern elf had flashed Zim a brief smile before coming over to offer his son a handshake.
"Hello, I trust that you are in good health yes? I was inquiring with you're mother the matter of you're studies. I would show the noble lines that stem to Crystal Meadow as there are a few important ones to review. There is of course the matter of you're arcane studies, you are a bard yes? Casting through magical frequency and raw force of personality we will find a way to refine that. Though it's arcane nature is different from my own I am sure I can come to understand-"
"Really? Herron? This is how you speak to you're son after forever? Straight to brass tacks? "Glad you're well now time to plan you're life!" Let the boy be.. Well a boy and let him grow Herron."
"Ahh, I see I apologize lady Badabim it was not my intent to disrespect I had merely meant-"
"Lady Badabim..? Are you serious? Oh if you think I'll call you Mr Woodheart you've got another thing coming!"
Zim knew his mother could be sweet and kind, nurturing and loving she was a creature of empathy and yet she had this.. Willful side to her as well. Herron had looked her over before offering a somewhat solemn bow to her and to Zim both.
"I am not sure, perhaps I should reevaluate my approach in domestic affairs. I hope I have not offended you master Badadim."
He had turned to Zim upon this remark, his posture straight and his gaze was focused with intent as he stared directly into Zim's eyes. His mother had let out a slight sigh with a hand placed on her temple. Though she was shaking her head it seemed Herron had only noticed Zim in this moment or he had simply ignored her?
Zahira smiles at Flurry when she gets Trick's and her ice cream:
- Thank you! Mmmm, 2 coconuts and 3 blizzards. I guess I'll have to come back another day to try the Snowstorm Blizzard myself! - she says - We are from Rising Dawn. I don't really know any student from Larex, to be honest - and she glances at the pixie girl wondering if se could she be a Larex student - but there are good casters in Rising Dawn, too, you know?
Or perhaps the figher's class?" - Zahira says, imitating Ayama's voice rather bitterly - Really!

"Yes, thanks for checking," his voice seeming to find its balance again.
- ...this is far from over.

Zahira
Zahira had made it home rather uneventfully, upon entering the her homes abode she could hear tinkering and whizzing upstairs.
"Damn!"
A clang of metal can be heard with a loud curse, words and sounds that were familiar to Zahira at by this time.
Shop
The pixie looked at Zephyro nervously before taking a deep breath.
"You're... Not? M-My names AV. I'm from the Aurora club! I ummm.. It's nice to for you to meet me. Ahh! Crap.. I mean... I.."
With a heave of her small chest her wings began to sputter as she began to fly off in a panic!
"I'm sorry!"
Upon hitting the glass door she shakes her face before struggling to open the door herself and taking her rather sudden leave.
OOC
For those doing activies at night.
I know a few of you have a few plans we can do it here on the thread.
I know each of you has something waiting for you when you get home.
Or we can do it in PM's and I can continue to the timeskip up to you ^~^
Zahira heard her uncle's curses, went upstairs, entered the workshop and said:

Of course! I'll see you all tomorrow!" He waves goodby to Zahira, then heads home himself.
(I agree with Aroc about the at home stuff. :) )
OOC
I already did Kirai's in private but I can do the home stuff here on the thread!

"Gawain Chevalier, as and beside me is my wife Nimue Chevalier."

I can do pictures for you're family if you want for Zephyro or if you'd rather not destroy how you imagine them it's up to you I always ask when it comes to PC's involved in backstories.
OOC
If I missed anything let me know!
^~^
Which class are you studying?" "Idiot! Why would you ask that? Now she's going to ask you the same thing!"
OOC:
(Go for it! I'd love to see how you picture them! :D Also, not sure what's going on with it, but for some reason the map isn't working for me...)

I'm going to wait and give Zim a chance to post before I respond ^~^

Many of them are still taking the first steps of adventuring and some say because of our education system that students are weaker than what adventurers were back than. I suppose it's because we don't want to hone ones talent through life or death struggle..
