As Kuro looks the house over he can see lots of techniques from the Sumia Shogunate applied here. As well as a wildborne approach like Starkwood and yet.. A bit of Straus Haven technology was even involved it had appeared.
The cat like woman had smiled waving at Kuro.
"I'm Jade! Nice to meet cha! I've been waiting to get out the house furrever! Here's my purrfect chance!"
The dragon had giggled a bit nuzzling Trick. If one looked out the window they could see a tiny robot running outside covered in skirts and make up. It was a cylinder thing with arms white and no real face. Shaped like a little metal garbage can with no visible top. It's arms flailed about as it repeated words Trick were familiar with. "Help." Her husband had taken a bit of a sigh, but looked to Kuro when hearing his name with a bit of surprise.
"Heh.. Our names are oddly close. Weirdly enough.. You remind me of that age.. Ahh nevermind that. Honey you can't just bombarde these people.. I'm sorry Kuro.. Mam for her behavior."
Trick beside them had held his dragon, "Oh no." He had said hearing the phrase she turned over and smiled wide.
"Purrfect yes? I told you! People love cat things in White Haven! Least that's what I was told.. So we gotta play it up!"
Siri had blinked for a moment staring at them as Jade was only giggling but Siri looked to Trick Kuroo and Jade. There was.. A strange look i her eyes. (Insight DC 12) She opened her mouth with a smile and spoke softly.
"You all look like a happy family, you can all come over it's no problem really. My husband likes sharing his war stories over dinner hehe."
In the back the dragon was nuzzling into Trick as he held him. Kuroo had offered a bow to Siri before checking out what Trick was saying.
"Yeah kiddo.. Seems you're mother has tainted the poor thing. I tried my best but.. She's faster.. And stronger than me.."
Siri had shook her head to Trick and Kuroo's apologizing.
"It's okay, I think it's sweet you can all goof around with each other. Well.. Come on in Mr Wantabe."
"Oh Kuroo is fine, are you sure though? Also.. I don't think I caught you're name."
The man had adjusted his glasses as she looked over with a brimming smile.
"Siri.. Siri Ryuzan!"
And with that Siri had insisted he'd come in and like that they were off. It wouldn't be long before they arrived.
Himari looked at Zephyro, earlier when his thoughts had crossed on his father meeting Himari. She tilted her head worry plain on her face whilst she looked at him. Himari frowned a bit as Arthur smiled toward Zephyro. She listened carefully as he spoke, his smile betrayed the worry in those eyes.
"Hun.. Z-Zephyro I mean.. You don't have to. If you'd rather we can hang out somewhere else or you can go home without us. I don't wanna bother you or cause any problems with you're father. I don't mind he won't like me, I just don't want trouble for you."
"Ahh crap! I didn't realize.. I was being super rude huh? Just presuming and stuff.. Jeez.. Yeah its up to you! I'm really sorry, again for being so pushy I guess I'm just excitable!"
Arthur had patted him on the back before hanging back over next to Shar.
"Passive protection? Ahh man, but I almost wanna fight more of those trouble makers! Well.. I say more of them but I've only fought the weird looking Gremlins..."

Kuro just shrinks further into his seat when Jade introduces herself. These types of people were his least favorite kind. Not because they were rude, but... he just found them overbearing and never knew how to react. What was she expecting of him? He glances at Mom, only to catch a strange look in her eyes as she watched Trick's family interact.
Insight: 22
Aaaandd then she invited them all over. Kuro's eyes widened further, and he flops down in his seat with an internal groan. This has to be the worst day of all time. Now he'll be stuck at the dinner table with these weirdos and Father's stupid war stories. What are his chances of being able to slip off to his room now? Ugh, maybe he can just pretend to be sick and excuse himself.... that wouldn't actually be far off from the truth.
For the entire ride, Kuro remains stiff as a post in his seat as if trying to hide behind the back of it like he was hiding behind a tree. At least he'd grabbed the front seat while he could... otherwise he'd be stuck in the back with Trick and his mother--now that would have been a nightmare...not that it isn't already.
"Geeze she's sharp. Seems I don't have to flat out tell her that my father doesn't like her family....or maybe she knew that already..." Zeph thinks as he tries to snap out of his worried state. He rubs the back of his neck and smiles, "No no. It should be fine. My father is going to have to get over himself eventually, it's not like I could completely avoid working with people he doesn't like anyway. Besides, it's not like I'm bringing just you to my house Himari. Since Arthur is here I doubt he'd assume--"He stops himself and clears his throat, "You and Arthur are in a party together. Plus Zahira and Shar will be there as well. It's not far fetched that our parties will have group assignments on occasion, especially when half of both our parties will be absent. This could be some sort of exercise on working with other teams to accomplish a common goal...." He trails off when he hears his voice take on on a bit of the sternness he is used to hearing from his father. Then he realizes that the more he thinks about it, the more his irritation towards his father shifts to anger. He hates sounding like that, even when it is directed back at his father. He does love his father, but at times like this the young elf just feels so restricted. He laughs awkwardly, attempting to dissipate the feeling. "Haha, sorry for the tone shift. Sometimes when I think to hard sometimes I start to sound like my old man. Anyways, don't worry about it. If he has a problem with this, I'm sure we can get Forthright to back up my charade. I mean, it's not like we are lying about this, we really are working together on an...extracurricular assignment."He grins.
When Himari mentions that Zeph's father doesn't like her, Zahira approaches her and places a hand on her shoulder, offering her a supportive smile. They had both already talked about this, but hearing say it out loud - specially in front of Zephyro - made the genasi want to support her friend. The changeling did say she did not mind, but it had to be tough for her anyway.
- If Zeph's dad knew you as we do, I'm sure he would like to to the moon and back, just as we do, Hima! I agree with all Zeph's said - she adds, nodding at the elf - perhaps this is just a matter of him seeing you more often, and he'll end up normalizing seeing you around. And we are not only friends but also Rising Dawn students. This is not a charade at all! I mean, learning our way in this adventuring career is not only about working with your own party. This is precisely why the Academy offers the possibility of having people from other parties accompanying us. The more we learn from working with several people with different skills, the better.
Kuro couldn't tell much in this moment by looking to his mother, there was certainly a spark of something he was wise enough to catch that much at least. The baby dragon in the back had begun to coo and roll around in Trick's arms as Jade had giggled.
"Kuro! Right? You guys have any fun adventures yet! I miss running free in Starkwood.. Not that I mind settling down of course!"
Siri had giggled lightly, Mr Wantabe had given Jade a playful look that had said. "I hope you don't mind settling down." Siri had only shook her head as she looked to Kuro and in the rearview mirror at Trick.
"I hope not, they are just starting right? I'd hope they are training hard but staying safe."
She had looked to Kuro with a bit of a worried look, it was clear this was in reference to all his text earlier as well as that "Prank" before. It was obvious she was still a bit worried about that exchange.
It wasn't long before they came to Kuro's house. Though a bit more conventional when it came to the strange devices it was certainly a larger home. Kuroo Wantabe couldn't help but look a bit impressed. Jade had pouted wiggling her tail.
"Why don't we have multiple stories???"
"Heh.. I mean for just the three of us wouldn't that be.. Excessive?"
"Awe, you all have a lovely home though!"
When they all had begun to set out the car freeing to stretch their legs. The dragon had flapped it's wings looking back up to Trick with a smile. As they had come in, it seemed that Kuro's father Kanato Ryuzan was prepared. Wearing a fine mantle and a suit underneath, It's clear that his mother found a chance to text and warn him of the sudden surprise. He had walked over and shook Kuroo's hand.
"Oh! Uhh.. What a strong handshake."
"Of course! The way it should be between us men! No doubt. Come regale us at the dinner hall. I'm curious to what you do for a living, It's a pleasure to meet you. Kantato Ryuzan."
"Oh.. Err.. I'm Kuroo Wantabe and I doubt it'll excite you sir Ryuzan."
"Nonsense! We can swap stories both old and new!"
Meanwhile..
Himari seemed.. Unconvinced and a bit worried at first but as Zephyro had carried on her lips slowly curled into a smile. Arthur nodded pounding his fist together with a grin.
"Determined! I like it!"
"Wellll I suppose you're right mr smarty pants.. As always. I suppose it doesn't hurt to try! Least.. I hope so!"
As Zephyro's voice went stern a moment, to laughter. Himari and Arthur had only looked his way, he could tell they had possibly misplaced that stern voice for determination due to Arthur's comment. Though Arthur had caught on a bit to the laugh.
"You feeling okay?"
It was but a moment but Zephyro had explained exactly what it was. His tone shift and the correlation to his old man. Arthur had patted him on the shoulder with a smile.
"You two may disagree.. A lot but least he taught you to be strong when you need too right? I know what you mean. I mean.. We fight less but my father and I disagree on some things as well"
Himari's shoulders had slightly slumped a bit worried thought determined from Zephyro's words. Although when Zahira laid a hand on her shoulders she had looked back with a smile that even outreached Arthur's. Zahira's kind words had reached her eyes as she placed a hand over the Genasi's.
"Thank you, you're the best friend a gal could ask for. You're right, you're both right! This could be important to our fighting formations and ways to investigate! I'm fired up now! Let's do this!"
OOC Is it safe to assume Zephyro called his lovely butler if so I shall mention him picking them up next post.
You can write they are on the way next post though if you wish ^~^
Trick watched his family as he held onto his little dragon. His mother was always so quick to get along with everyone or to try to get along with everyone. Though she did drive him a bit crazy with the cat puns he loved her to death. He gave a slight shake of her head as mother mentioned how people loved the cat puns. He looked down at the dragonling in his arms.
"I really don't know about that mom. Oh... Mom the robots are crying out for help again..."
When he got home he was going to have to clean up the robots again. That was alright though he was sure they would be okay. It was nice to see that his father was invited to join with them. He looked to his father and smiled lightly. Sitting between the two of them was nice. He leaned back and closed his eyes. His family though a bit crazy... He loved them. His tail seemed to wag a bit.
He listened as his mother tried to speak with Kuro. He wasn't sure she would be able to get much out of him. He hugged the dragon close to him. This little creature definitely felt pretty good in his arms. It made him feel rather calm.
Once they got to the house he looked up at it as he got out of the car. He was a bit surprised with its size, but he didn't mind the size of his own home though. Two stories probably would have made the egg a bit safer though. He looked down at the dragon he was holding. Then again... It was safe enough wasn't it? Except for the fact that now it was tainted with cat puns.
He looked to his father and watched as he spoke with Kuro's father. He felt a little nervous right now.
Kuro shrank even more when Jade tried talking to him, giving just a shake of his head in answer without looking her way. This was not what he'd wanted when he asked Mom to pick him up. This was way more than he'd bargained for.
When they arrived at home, Kuro stifled a groan at the sight of his father. Why is he wearing that? It's not like they're at some sort of fancy banquet or something? Now Trick's going to think they are some sort of nobility. Ugh, and stories? Now he's seriously considering sneaking away to his room. Maybe they'll all be distracted by father's stupid stories to notice him missing.
He waits in the car for a moment, then slides out with a huff as greetings are exchanged. He glances at Trick and at the dragon, then looks back at the ground as their father's talk, shifting slightly as he waits for everyone to head inside.
Zephyro grins at Himari, then nods to Arthur and laughs again, "Yeah, that is true. I can't deny that I've learned a lot from my Father."As he speaks he thinks, "I just wish he'd learn to let me do my own thing sometimes..."
He pulls out his crystal, "Alright then, I'll see about getting us a ride." With that he quickly scrolls through his contacts, gives the right one a quick tap, then raises the crystal to his ear. "Hey Mr. Nelson! Could I get a lift? I have a few friends with me today, we are needing a place to finish up some homework...."
Zahira is glad to see Himari cheered and surer of herself, and holds her hand stronger for a moment in response.
- Well! All this conversation got me even more curious to meet your family, Zeph! I have say this is the first time a butler will drive me anywhere. How curious! Mmm ... I guess I should try a to do a few curtsies while we wait to avoid embarrassing myself when we get there - she says jokingly, and proceeds to do a couple of curtsies before their friends, though she doesn't take it too seriously. There will be plenty of time for being serious later.

Jade earlier had giggled lightly tapping Trick on the nose.
"Yeah! Someone on the ride here from Starkwood told me people here love cat puns! Least.. I think they did? Also our little bot buddies want help being more fashionable!"
Kuroo had looked at Trick with a soft smile on the car ride previous.
"You know.. You've grown a bit. You're starting to fill in like you're mother. Must be working hard huh?"
As Trick held the creature it began to spew a few more cat puns in draconic licking at his face. However, it had looked to Kuro a bit confused upon seeing his draconic scales. It looked to Trick and had asked. "Family?" When gesturing it's tail to Kuro.
Jade tilted her head as Kuro shook his head. Mr Wantabe himself had given Kuroo a soft look examining him a bit.

Kuroo's insight check. (Will not exceed a 20 regardless of what rolled.)
Kanato had gestured for them all to head to the dining hall. Which the kitchen had been clearly organized and prepared for tonight's dinner. He even seemed to have prepared a Turkey Roasted meal. Was it possible he had used magic? Or made this simply by hand? Or even garnered outside help? Regardless the results had managed to look exquisite though as Kuro may say overkill.
"I'm sure my own son must have his own adventure's by now! When I was his age I had handled goblins and bandits the like! Though nowadays saying that about goblins isn't considered.. Well proper you know."
"Ahh, y-yes I see well Mr Ryuzan I'm sure Kuro is learning at his own pace. It's better the kids be safe than hound for glory after all."
"Well yes they should be safe.. But what of a legacy? Honor? Making a change in this world? Shouldn't we be the change to inspire in others Mr Wantabe?"
"Nothing in this world is worth sacrificing ourselves over. Not when we can break things down and try again wouldn't you agree?"
"Ahh, but good men have sacrificed themselves in the great war ya know. So that you and I may eat and talk so freely from the clutches of the old empire. Some of those people were my own men ya know. Would you tell them that nothing is worth that sacrifice?"
"Uhh.. Well.. Umm.."
Looking around it was clear this was the house of an old adventurer but also that of an old war veteran as well.
Meanwhile..
As Zephyro talks with Himari and Arthur he manages to get a hold of Mr Nelson. Himari tries to be quiet but Arthur still keeps chuckling on a bit. This causes Mr Nelson to start the conversation with a light chuckle. Himari tries her best to remain quiet as she curtsey's with Zahira but ends up giggling anyway.
"Zahira you kill me! Oh my gosh!"
"Having a good time master Aethymlir? Why yes, I will be there in a moments notice."
It isn't so long after that conversation that coming down at a rather fast pace is a long black vehicle. Ready to escort Zephyro and his friends to wherever they may please.
"If you require a place to divvy up you're academic studies may I suggest the local library? Or perhaps the city halls library better yet. If I was to wager, you are trying to avoid the masters residence yes?"
"Actually.. I think were heading to Zeph's place!"
"Zeph.. Sir? To his residency? Are you.. Certain?"
OOC I may wait to post again for Shar. I don't wanna leave our poor bug bear friend behind Q~Q
Trick looked over to Kuro. His mother must have been a lot for the boy. He didn't know what to say in the matter though. His own mother could be a lot for him sometimes. He looked down at the dragon which was saying a bunch of things to him in draconic that were cat puns. He sighed. His mother had done this. No..! When he asked about the scales he gave a small smile and slight tilt of his head.
"Draconic Sorcerer. They have draconic blood, but I don't know if it is a direct descendant from you, but it is from a dragon of some kind. It is kind of cool isn't it?"
He offered the dragon a small smile as he talked about draconic sorcerers.
Inside it smelled amazing. He looked around curiously before he looked towards his father. Kuro's father was an interesting man, but he didn't know how he felt about this conversation that was going on right now. He could understand a bit about what Kuro's dad was saying. After all he wouldn't have gotten this dragonling if he hadn't of helped a dragon who was being attacked, but he also agreed with his father.
That was before he had come to this school. He had reacted because it was exactly what he should have done. His father was clearly struggling with this conversation though. He slowly looked to his mom and then he looked towards Kuro. This wasn't exactly what he was expecting and was now a bit worried. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out. This was going to be difficult wasn't it.
They clearly had two different thoughts. He reached out and laid a hand on his father's arm lightly seeing that he was struggling a bit.
He looked down at the dragon quietly holding this little creature was definitely making him feel a bit better. He looked to Kuro and offered a small smile. He left his father's side for the moment and offered the little dragon out to Kuro.
"Would you like to hold him?"
He didn't know how he could help his father. He felt telling his story about the dragon he had saved wouldn't help in this situation. So he decided to stay out of it for now. He didn't want to make his father look bad by saying something that would be against everything his father said.

(OOC: I think the quote above should be talking about Kuro's dad right? Since Kuro isn't a draconic sorcerer? ;) )
Kuroo's doing insight on Kuro right? In that case...
Deception: 4
Kuro grimaced mentally at seeing the fancy meal Father had prepared. Why did he have to treat everything like... well whatever this is? It's so annoying. Even if Kuro had intended to invite Trick over, there was no way he would have wanted this. Why couldn't they have a simple meal like normal people? He clenches his jaw slightly when Father mentions dealing with goblins and bandits when he was 'Kuro's age'. He'd heard it before of course, and he had to believe it, but it always sounded so absurd. A forteen-year-old, holding his own against goblins and grown men?
He finds himself agreeing with Trick's dad. Better to be safe than to risk your life. His eyes flick towards Father, Not everyone is willing to throw their lives away in the name of stupid glory. He thinks at his father. Maybe Kuroo could talk some sense into him... but at the rate things are going that probably won't happen. After all, Mom's been trying to get him to be easier on Kuro forever now, so what are the chances of this guy succeeding? Besides, he seems like he's struggling at this point. Can't blame him really, Father's always been a handful. That's why Kuro tries to tune him out most of the time.
He's lost in thoughts, face bearing his usual bored expression as the two adults talk. So, when Trick approaches him and offers to let him hold the dragon he actually gives a surprised start. He looks at Trick, then at the dragon with wide eyes, then back at Trick. "R...really?" He says hesitantly, his expression mostly remaining as blank as ever, but his eyes showed...something rather unfamiliar for the young sorcerer. It doesn't take much more prompting for him to remove his hands from his pockets and accept the baby dragon. Slowly, he reaches out and gingerly takes it, feeling its smooth scales beneath his fingers. He stares down at it, and cradles it as if it were a puppy. All the while he can't help but think...where did Trick get this creature? Why would he trust someone like Kuro to hold it?
Glancing back up at the dinner table, he suddenly gets an idea. ...while he'd hoped to go hide in his room alone, maybe there was a better option--one that Mom might actually let slide if he tried it. He looked at Trick, then back at their fathers as they spoke, then back at Trick again. He didn't really want anyone seeing his room, but... well what other option does he have? Anything is better than staying here and listening to Father's stories... or having to deal with Tricks weird mother... wait, what if she followed them? He glanced her way briefly, then focused his attention back on the dragon. He'll wait for now, as he notices that Trick is watching his own father with... concern? That wasn't something Kuro ever expected to see. He was never worried about his father...unless it had to do with him trying to teach him something...or giving him a lecture... or anything that involved harassing Kuro. Regardless, it might not be a good idea to try and slip away yet anyways. They haven't even gotten to the table yet.
Staring at the dragon for a moment, he again wonders why Mom won't let him let the cats inside and he briefly thinks about Smokey. The big tom and the others are probably waiting outside his window right now. Then he realizes that he should probably say something to Trick since he let him hold the creature... but what? He looks at the half-tabaxi "Um..." he lowers his eyes, finding it easier to look at the dragon. "Does he... have a name?"
As Arthur comment that he would rather fight the ones that are after his new friends Shar shivers.
"Oh I would rather not... Someone could get hurt... I mean... I could hurt someone.... or even worse, some of us... I would hate to see any of you hurt. you.. you fought gremlins? that sounds scary!"
Afterwards, Shar feels really like a fish outside the water. One thing was the mother of one of them coming to pick them up, but a butler?! He was struggling to get himself to the idea that he now knows someone that has an actual butler. As they wait for the car to arrive he tries to comfort Himari too.
"Don't you worry. As soon as his father sees me he would have a new favorite for not seeing around his son... "he tries to smile " But I can take it, I am a big guy"he says smiling and streching his back and neck to reach his whole height.
Zeph laughs along with the others when Zahira starts her curtsies, smile lingering even when Mr. Nelson pulls up alongside them. His smile wavers slightly when the butler asks if he is certain he wants to take his friends to his house, but he recovers quickly. "Yes, I am certain. You know me, I work better in my own space. I'm sure the family library will be sufficient for this project. Besides, I'd like my family to meet my party members! I think they deserve to know who I'm spending my time with." After opening the door for Zahira and Himari, he pulls out his crystal again and laughs, "I almost forgot! I should probably let my family know I'm bringing some friends over. Haha."
When everyone is getting situated in the vehicle, Zephyro types a message to his Father,
"Father, I apologize for giving you and Mother such a short notice, but I'm bringing a few of my party members, as well as Arthur and one of his party members over for a short while. Our parties were assigned a group project and we are trying to finish our part. Once we finish the assignment, Mr. Nelson will be taking them home. With the recent student disappearances, we are trying to travel in groups, and I thought that this would be the safest course of action. I also figured that this would be a good opportunity for you and Mother to meet my two party members who are coming. I'll introduce you all when we arrive.
Again, I'm really sorry for the short notice."
Once everyone else is inside the car, Zeph hits send and climbs in after them. "Alright, we're ready to go."
The dragon had looked up to Trick and back to Kuro with a rather happy nod as it plopped it's tongue out. Again in it's own native tongue it spoke.
"Cool The cat's meow!!"
As Trick passed by Kuroo Wantabe he had offered his son a smile. He seemed happy Trick was showing off his little dragonling. Kanato had looked to the little creature with a bit of awe and his eyes were filled with a deep respect. In Draconic he had spoke while offering a bow of his arm across his own shoulder.
"It is a pleasure proud and noble beast."
"Huh? Oh! I'm so furrrtunate to meet you as well. You speak my language! I guess.. It'd be hissstarical if you didn't!"
It had chortled a bit before tilting it's head, tongue still flapping about. Kanato seemed.. Surprised by it's strange manner of speaking. Siri had smiled softly hoping the two gentleman would possibly relax from their debate.
"I apologize.. My husband is just.. Passionate about what he does and what he used to do."
Jade's hair were starting to stand on end as she crossed her arms. However after Siri's apology she found herself.. Calming down a bit. Kuroo seems to offer an awkward chuckle hoping for things to die down a bit as Trick and Kuro seem to be getting along. The dragon seems happy, content in Kuro's arms. Confused however where his scales were.. Since his father had them. It had coo'd and asked.
"Where's you're scales??"
Though Kuroo seemed calm for a moment, he could see.. A strange look on Kuro's face. (Kuro and Trick require no insight roll for this.) He seemed.. To have a look of familiarity to Kuro a look of understanding empathy.
"Ahh.. While I do apologize for belittling you're beliefs in anyway. I think it's important that.. our beliefs aside we support the next generation. When I met Jade.. And raised Trick I wanted him to live a safe life.. One of a researcher away from danger. However.. He inherited his mother's adventurous spirit.. And her fight aptitude it would appear. Though his path differs from my own.. I support him."
Jade had smiled holding his arm, but Siri? She held a surprised expression. It was clear she could tell what the man was implying. Kanato had gestured for them all to follow to the table as he had them all seated. Kuro was curious to what the dragon's name was. Kuroo looked to his son with a soft smile.
"That honor.. Is up to you my son."
Kanato had looked at Kuroo, no loud retort or passionate claim to boast. Instead he stared at Kuroo with a fierce intensity one that had caused Kuroo to look away a few times before looking back at him.
"I think supporting our children is important, but sometimes we must face hardships and grow. It's not always what they want but what we need. This world despite it's attempts to modernize as they say.. Is still dangerous. I think you're lucky to be alive as you are a man who lacks resolve and if what you say about you're son is true.. Than it's clear he has that resolve."
Jade's tail had shot up with a low rumbling coming from her throat. However Kanato had looked to her before letting out a hearty laugh.
"She's got fire! Siri you used to be that firey! We should work on that again soon yes? We can't let city life dampen our adventuring spirits!"
"A-Ahh.. W-Well.. Yes I suppose I've just been thinking about a lot lately."
"You shouldn't compare a lady with another! Kuroo taught me that.. From his "City life" And I like it! It's sweet and considerate! Unlike you've been! A man with our without resolve shouldn't stand alone against his family. You seem gun ho about pride and glory! And.. I respect you're service in the war but you're family seems too quiet.. And I don't like that sir."
Jade appeared to be showing.. A calm and newfound resolve in her eyes as she stared at Kanato. Kanato had given her a thousand long stare but the tabaxi only wrinkled her nose at him as she stared back. Siri was beginning to slink in her chair and Kuroo looked to Kuro a bit.. Guilty and regretful of his words.
Meanwhile away from the heated dinner..
Arthur looked to Shar as his jaw began to drop he seemed in complete shock and disbelief at Shar's words.
Huh!? No way you mean that! You look.. So strong! Nothing could actually scare you right? I bet you were the strongest guy where you came from! I bet you woulda been on the frontlines with me and Himari and sent those gremlins packing!"
Himari had looked to Shar as a bit of guilt began to invade in her eyes.
"Oh gosh.. You're right. You're not from a noble family are you..? Jeez.. I feel guilty for worrying. People from Starkwood say bug bears are dangerous too.. I hope Zephyro's father doesn't believe that though. He's from Straus right..? I'm sorry.. I'm not as good on politics as my brother is."
Zephyro had texted his father Athyren. Zephyro had received a text back rather quickly.
"Ahh, I could have sent some security with Nelson had you asked. Though I understand you're reasoning. Arthur? I see, this may be a good chance to build a relationship with the Chevaliers that is some impressive foresight. I look forward to meeting you're esteemed guest and I'm proud of you're work ethic."
Nelson had looked back as he began to drive through the uptown parts of the city and.. It was certainly foreign to Shar. The large manors and fancy nobles, the gardens the gardeners and maids and butlers all must have seemed like a different world to him almost. Nelson had looked back at Zephyro as he spoke.
"Ahh yes master Aethymlir, many people shine when in a familiar environment. Though I must admit I've never seen a Bug Bear in Crystal Meadows. That being said.. Though some have a fear for them around here. My brother was saved by a Bug Bear soldier in the great war. I hear you're kind can be an honorable sort and with that you have my respect young master."
As Nelson had exited the vehicle to open the door for each of them. (Unless they beat him to opening it no roll required.) He had offered Shar a rather sincere bow. Before them was a massive mansion and grand import.
OOC Oh sorry my bad >~< Kuro didn't inherit the scales haha. I apologize.
It can be wondering if his father is family and since Kuro is related if that counts as well my goof lol
Kuro losing a deception check is so rare for that kid. (Kuroo got a 15 above.) XD
If I get anything else wrong let me know sometimes I struggle with details on PbP haha
I actually have a map for Zeph's mansion on Owlbear.
Can only have two rooms on Owlbear now sadly..
Also Kirai I sent you a message. (Needing a bit of help with Owlbear 2.0 haha)
After receiving his fathers message, Zephyro gives his crystal an odd look, something between a flat stare and an expression of relief. He hadn't expected his father to react poorly to him bringing friends over, but to have him interoperate his bringing Arthur along in that way makes him uncomfortable. Sometimes his father's reactions to things make the young elf wonder if he actually knows the meaning of the word friends. Why does he assume every action is building towards some future goal? Oh well, at least his father sounded pleased in the message. Hopefully the sight of Himari and his new Bugbear friend doesn't negatively affect this experience to much.
Putting his crystal away, he grins back at Mr. Nelson. "I couldn't have said that better myself. Oh? Your brother was saved by a bugbear during the war? Now that's a story you've never told me."He glances at Shar, "Haha, sounds like you really will be a great addition to our party. I'm not going to lie, we've really been needing an actual frontliner..." He trails off not wanting to think about how poorly he's been fairing in that role.
Once the car pulls into the driveway, Zeph let's Mr. Nelson open the door for him. (It's only proper to let the butler do his job.) But proceeds to open the door for Himari and Zahira. After everyone exits the vehicle, the young elf walks a few steps towards the building, then turns around and gestures to the grand building. "Well here we are." He laughs with a slight bit of nervousness. "Come, I'll show you around...and I should introduce you to my folks before we get started on our project. Heh, they might even have had dinner prepared for us but we will see."
Kuro watches blankly as his father and the dragon greet each other in a language he never bothered to learn. How did the dragon learn it so fast anyways? Was it just born knowing how to speak? Geese, must be nice not ever having to work at it. ...then the creature says something to him, which of course he doesn't understand. "Uhh," he says blankly before looking up at Trick. Hopefully the look is enough to imply that Kuro can't speak draconic, since he can't bring himself to say it in front of his parents and Trick's family too. The last thing he needs is for Father to go off on him in front of them.
And then the adults start going at it. Kuro sighs, doing his best to ignore whatever looks are passed his way--though he does take note of Kuroo's sympathetic look. How is he supposed to feel about that? Clearly Trick's dad's ideals are more similar to Kuro's than Kuro's father's were. Though he has a feeling that Kuroo actually does work hard at something even if it isn't adventuring. And, well... Kuro doesn't.
Seeing that the conversation was not... well going the way a normal conversation between parents should--which was to be expected with Father around. Kuro looks down at the dragon and then over at Trick. After a moment he reluctantly hands the dragon back, "...thanks..." he says hesitantly before picking up his plate. "Do... you want to go somewhere else?" He diverts his eyes, and adds in an almost inaudible tone, "So...we don't have to listen to..." His eyes briefly flick towards his father.
The idea of letting someone into his room is almost enough to make him take back what he said, but at the moment he doesn't like his father's tone, and he doesn't like the amount of attention Trick's dad seems to be giving him. Right now he just wants to be away from it all and the best option is to let them think he wants to hang out with Trick. Which... honestly with the dragon might not be all that bad. Maybe if Trick is there Mom will leave them alone long enough for him to lure Smokey inside with the portion of his dinner he definitely isn't going to finish.
(OOC: No worries! It's so easy to forget stuff with the pacing of PbP. I do it all the time :'D.
lol, yeah no kidding. Though, honestly I thought about rolling at disadvantage since he was so flustered with everything going on. His defenses weren't as strong as usual. So it kind of makes sense anyways :'D. )
Zahira was a little surprised the first and also the second time Zeph opened the door for Himari and her. She wasn't that used to those gestures, specially since she moved with her uncle, where everything was more down to earth and less refined than when living with her parents. She told herself to get used to it and not get surprised, since they were going to enter a place where such details would probably be constant.
She felt a little bad for Shar when he mentioned that Zeph's father wouldn't like him, and same as the rest, she tried to cheer him up:
- Oh, Shar, I'm sorry. This must be an incredible weird day for you and probably not what you expected for a first day. But I'm sure that in no time you'll change whatever bad opinion others may have on bugbears. You are going to make a very fine addition not only to Rising Dawn, but to our party - and she nods at Zephyro - we were definitely in need of someone like you!
The air genasi then smiles kindly at Mr Nelson when he mentions that his brother was saved by a bugbear during the great war and is sure that Shar will feel better hearing it.
As they advance towards the manor, and though she had been joking about etiquette not long ago, Zahira beings to feel a little nervous and she whispers (trying to not be heard by Nelson):
- So, guys. I was joking before but I'm really a liiiitle nervous so... any recommendation? Anything I should not do? Or should do? Or not to speak about? Okay, I'm asking too many things too quickly again? *Calm down, Zahira*- When Zephyro mentions a possible dinner, she adds - Dinner? I didn't count on that. I wanted to get home early so I could show, you know, our homework, to my uncle. But of course, I don't want to be rude! I'll just text him if we end up having dinner with your family. So, are we going to use several forks and spooks like in that scene about some boat that sank? Hehe! - she adds, joking and laughing a little nervously.
Trick had nodded when Kuro had asked if he could really hold the dragonling. Kuro liked animals and he had a feeling that the little dragonling would be just fine in his arms. He looked at the small dragon and listened as it spoke. He tilted his head slightly and let out a soft sigh.
"Mom has mostly taught it a lot of cat puns."
He doesn't exactly sound happy about this and his tail twitches slightly behind him, but then he looks to the dragon at the next question. Oh yeah! He was supposed to name it wasn't he? He took a moment to consider all the names in his head. He had taken days to write up and think over names when he had first gotten the egg. His ears twitched as he continued to listen to what was being said.
"I think Zovan fits him pretty well. It is a silver dragon name. Though I may just end up calling him Van for short."
He was glad that his father had let him decide on the name for this little creature. He looked to Kuro and noticed he seemed to be struggling with understanding what the dragon was saying. He wasn't surprised honestly. His mother didn't know how to speak draconic, and he had only learned because he delt with dragons a lot in life. Of course, he would have to be able to speak to the creature he would someday be taking care of.
"He's confused about where your scales are. There wasn't a cat pun when he asked either."
He looked to the dragon before speaking to it in draconic.
"Not every sorcerer has scales. There are different kinds."
As they were sitting down to eat, he was hoping things would get better, but... No, it would seem things were definitely not. Now his mother was getting frustrated. Though he couldn't blame her. He was glad of how his father thought of him, but he didn't like exactly how there was so much expectation for Kuro from his own father. Sure, the world was a dangerous place, but one should love and respect their children. Stand by them. Not force them to be like them.
He looked to Kuro who seemed to just want to get away from here and honestly... He did too. He was finding it hard not to speak back.
"Sure!"
He got up to follow after Kuro. He glanced over all the adults at the table and frowned faintly. His ears flattening just slightly and his tail twitching. It must be hard to live in such a place sometimes. He never felt pressured by his father or mother... And though his mother's cat puns drove him up the wall... He still loved her to death. Even now as she showed her fiery spirit and stuck up for his father... His mom was strong. He only hoped he could be like her, but he also wanted to continue to be reserved and studious like his father.
It kind of hit him then. His father thought he was only like his mother, but he wasn't. He enjoyed nature and he also enjoyed studying animals. He could have been a researcher if he had wanted to and still could. He had made the choice to save this dragon's mother and sure that made him face danger, but he didn't think that was for everyone. Some people just weren't wired the same way.
He stopped a moment looking at the two families at the table.
"I am just like you too dad. I'm not just like mom. I enjoy researching animals and learning about nature. Sometimes I much rather research a wolf rather than fight it. I don't know much about glory or pride. When I helped save Zovan's mom... I wasn't thinking about pride or glory. I was just thinking about preserving her life. Protecting her from the poachers. I had others that thought the same thing too. I could have gotten killed... A lot of things could have happened to me out there. I may be a bit different from my father, but he still praised me when I got home. At the end of the day... If I decide to completely be an adventurer, I know my father would stand behind me and I know that if I decide to be like him... My mother will fully support me... In the end the only thing that matters is there support and love. That's all I want at the end of the day."
With that said he doesn't wait for any response. He turns and follows quickly after Kuro knowing that anything he said may have only fell on deft ears and made things worse.

Since Arthur is here I doubt he'd assume--" He stops himself and clears his throat, "You and Arthur are in a party together. I mean, it's not like we are lying about this, we really are working together on an...extracurricular assignment." He grins.

OOC
Is it safe to assume Zephyro called his lovely butler if so I shall mention him picking them up next post.
I can't deny that I've learned a lot from my Father." As he speaks he thinks, "I just wish he'd learn to let me do my own thing sometimes..."

Are you.. Certain?"
OOC
I may wait to post again for Shar.
"As Trick held the creature it began to spew a few more cat puns in draconic licking at his face. However, it had looked to Kuro a bit confused upon seeing his draconic scales. It looked to Trick and had asked. "Family?" When gesturing it's tail to Kuro."
" he tries to smile " But I can take it, I am a big guy" he says smiling and streching his back and neck to reach his whole height.
PbP Character: A few ;)

I can wait for Zahira to post before I do but if you'd rather I can post instead I shall wait a bit though ^^
OOC
Oh sorry my bad >~<
Kuro didn't inherit the scales haha.
Now that's a story you've never told me." He glances at Shar, "Haha, sounds like you really will be a great addition to our party.
*Calm down, Zahira* - When Zephyro mentions a possible dinner, she adds - Dinner? I didn't count on that. I wanted to get home early so I could show, you know, our homework, to my uncle. But of course, I don't want to be rude! I'll just text him if we end up having dinner with your family. So, are we going to use several forks and spooks like in that scene about some boat that sank? Hehe! - she adds, joking and laughing a little nervously.
Something like this? Lol.
