Kuro nods when Trick decides to name the dragon Zovan, unsure what to say on the matter. When Trick explains that the dragonling is confused about him not having scales he seems to darken slightly. Where were his scales? Wouldn't it have been so much easier if he had scales and could rightly call himself a draconic sorcerer. At least then his father's expectations might have been met, and he wouldn't have to worry about casting spells that either flopped or exploded. But no, he might have inherited the power of a sorcerer, but somehow it got all screwed up inside him and now he might as well not have the power at all. Oh well, can't change it so why bother thinking about it?
He is slightly surprised when Trick actually agrees to leave the table. Part of him had expected the half-tabaxi to not want to. Oh well, this makes things somewhat easier. He just nods again and starts walking towards his room, not pausing when Trick starts talking to his dad. ...hopefully he doesn't draw to much attention to the fact that they were leaving. It would be so annoying if someone decided to ask them to stay.
Once they reach his room, he pushes the door open and immediately goes over to the window beside his bed... which is not made. The blankets are all bunched up to one side and the sheet is hanging off to the other side. He opens the window and proceeds to dump most of his food out, holding back whatever he feels might not be good for the cats as well as some turkey he wants to save to lure Smokey in. He stays there for a moment, watching as a couple of the cats that were already there waiting start eating the scraps. He sets a piece of turkey on the windowsill and then turns back to face Trick and the dragonling.
Feeling rather self conscious, he glances about his room, which is not overly messy but isn't really clean either. Its clear that he doesn't to much aside from sit around, as most of the books (some of which are schoolbooks) don't appear to have been touched in a long time and there's no sign of any sort of games or projects. However, there are some pieces of paper bunched up and thrown on the floor, most of which have pencil lines on them as if they were written or drawn on and then thrown away. Half hidden by the hanging sheet, there are also some notebooks under the bed as well as some paper that isn't bunched up. In spite of not being super well hidden, it's clear they are there to keep someone else from looking at them.
Taking a piece of turkey, he offers it Trick,"You can give it to Zovan... if you want."
If Trick hadn't closed the door, then Kuro shuffles over to do that. His Father's voice has a tendency to travel, and he doesn't want to have to listen to it at all. Plus, if it's too loud then the cats might not stick around.
(OOC: @DM I almost just wrote in that the cats came and Smokey jumped in through the window, but I wasn't sure if you would want to RP the cats or not. So, Kuro put the turkey in the windowsill hoping that Smokey or one of the other cats would come join them ;) )
Zeph laughs, "Uh, I don't think you have anything to be nervous? Well, if you don't want to stay, you can always politely decline, or I can explain to them that you need to get home. Haha, I doubt that it will be like that this time. We are usually more casual at home, the only time we use that many utensils is when we are hosting or attending some lavish party."
(Lol, that would be funny!)
Before leading everyone to the house, Zeph turns back and waves at Mr. Nelson. "Thanks for the ride!" Then he will start towards the front door, which he will hold open for his 'esteemed guests.'
- Yeah, you're right! I'm probably giving it too much thought! I mean ... it's like I have forgotten where we were a couple of hours ago. *That* was something to worry, not this - she says, still lowering her voice so only her friends can listen. Then she exhales and adds - Okay, let's go.
Kuro's father Kanato had looked to the small beast.. Trick and finally to his son. It was hard to tell if he had heard Kuro or not in the tone of the argument. Though he was pleased to see Kuro interacting with a draconian creature. However he did seemed distracted by his "Guest" Kuroo. Kuroo was distracted himself until his son had spoken to him.
Kuroo looked at Trick.. Surprised how much his son had followed in his foot steps and how similar the two were in research and studying. Jade had patted Trick on his ears with a smile before glaring back at Kanoto. She seemed pleased when Trick however brought up the cat puns a very proud puff in her chest. Kuroo ruffled Trick's hair as well.
"I'm glad son.. Truly. I think that means I've got more to teach you than I thought! Also.. Mr Ryuzan.. though we are vastly different. My son speaks greater wisdom than I. We love our children and would walk through hell and fire for them."
Kanato had stared at Trick for a moment, Siri was nervously looking over everyone herself. It wasn't long before Trick and Kuro were heading upstairs. Kanato had only looked to Kuro. (Roll me a DC 14 deception check pleaseee)
Making their way upstairs Zovan looked to the windowsill licking his lips before looking up at Trick speaking more draconic. It was clear to Kuro however he had really wanted the turkey bits that he was offering.
Meanwhile..
Nelson looks to Shar and to Zephyro.
"Yes I believe he will fare as a proper vanguard. Do not under estimate master Aethymlir by his stature. With a proper vanguard and distraction he will be able to bring on the pain.. As they say. Ahh I have not told you that? Well.. Ya know what they say about old men and war stories they are a dreadful bore master Aethymilir.
Though Nelson had insisted he opened the door for Zephyro's friends too he had relented and let the young lord do so himself. Himari seemed surprised not by the scope but by the difference in culture she looked around rather impressed but Arthur.. Well Arthur made himself right at home.
"Dinner sounds great! I can't wait to stuff my face! Than we can do a workout session! Maybe we can do a sparring match! Or tomorrow.. Whatever works get ready for those Purifiers!"
Himari looks.. Rather blankly as Arthur talks of the "Purifiers."
"Yes.. They may filter our water and that could be bad."
"Yeah! Wait.. Aren't they bad news..? Why would they filter our water?"
"Master Chevalier and lady Sato, I do trust you all will be careful when traveling around Master Aethlimir hm? I'd hate to see anyone hurt. Though I think introductions with you're family may be wise decision. Also.. Lady Zahira do not fret. I know not this.. Boat scene but I am sure you will do fine just follow Aethlimir's lead."
Nelson had bowed with an "Of course my lord." toward Zephyro when he was thanked before quickly heading upstairs possibly to check on the head of the Aethlimir family to see if he was ready to head down and greet their guest.
OOC
I super appreciate you asking about the cats and if I as the DM had a plan to RP them and such. I may want to at times for certain small scenes and such. I certainly can here, but if there is a certain scene you want to portay to Trick you can have free reins. (I'm guessing I'm saying we can have joint custody of the kitties lol.)
Working on the Owlbear room for Zephyro's manor map since the update.
Sorry if it was bad at all or I forgot anything >~<
Zahira, who had been paying attention at her surroundings, impressed by the place they were entering, shifted her attention quickly to Arthur when he mentioned "the purifiers". She only had time to open her eyes in wide surprise and shake her head sliglthy in order to remind the paladin that they were supposed to not mention that aloud, but luckily Himari's intervention was as quick as it was funny."They may filter our water". Heh. This girl always had the funniest of answers. She tried to follow the changeling steps changing the topic and added:
- Ahhh, that reminds me of this spell which is used to purify food and water. I wish I could learn it, but it's only available for clerics, druids and paladins. Perhaps you guys can learn it!
After saying this she leant towards Arthur, while placing a hand on his forearm, and whispered:
-... it is "Purists", not "Purifiers"... but it's best if we keep this to ourselves. Until we know who we can trust and all that.
Then she leant back and said, in a normal voice tone:
- By the way, his place is amazing. Your home is beautiful, Zephyro - and turning to Nelson she added - You are absolutely right, I will follow Zephyro's lead, of course! - she said, nodding eagerly and smiling.
"I've never found your stories boring Mr. Nelson." Zeph laughs ignoring the first part of what the butler said,"I rather like hearing your perspective of the war."
He laughs at Arthur and Himari's exchange. Arthur could be such a child, sometimes it's hard to imagine that he actually ranks higher then Zeph. Not that the young elf thought it a bad thing, in fact he rather likes Arthur's carefree nature. "I think we'll have to save that workout session for another time. We have homework to do after dinner you know." He pats his satchel to emphasis his point.
Once everyone is inside, Zeph leads the group to the living room to wait for his family to come meet them. He glances back at Zahira when she speaks up. "Oh, thanks." He laughs, "I'm glad you think so." He motions to the lounge chairs. "Feel free to sit where you want, though I doubt my Father will take long to come meet us."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Deception: 14
(OOC: Okay! No problem :) )
Kuro glances at Zovan, moving his hand slightly so the dragon can take the turkey from him if Trick doesn't take it. Clearly the creature wants it and turkey shouldn't be bad for a dragon so he assumes it should be fine. As he does this, a large grey tom cat jumps up onto the window sill and snaps up the pieces of turkey Kuro had placed there. Kuro turns around, barely having heard the feline land on the sill. His expression doesn't really change at all upon seeing the cat--he looks as bored as ever really, but regardless he walks over to the window and rubs Smokey behind the ears.
The tom gives a lazy purr, but doesn't move from the window. Kuro gives the cat a long look, then moves to sit down on the floor beside his bed, pushing some of the crumpled papers underneath it as he does. Then he takes his dinner plate with whatever remaining scraps are on it and places it on the floor beside him. Smokey gives him a flat look before hopping down and moving over to clean the plate, which Kuro promptly removes as soon as the cat is finished with everything that is safe for him to eat, placing it on the small dresser beside his bed. The cat stares up at the plate for a moment before sitting down and yawning. Kuro runs a hand down its back, and resumes rubbing it behind the ears.
All the while he doesn't really look directly at Trick, clearly unsure of what to do or say at this point. They were in his room, away from the adults which was what Kuro wanted, but now he just feels awkward. Ugh, it's been years since he's actually had anyone over.
Trick was glad to see his father smile and to praise him. Of course he would have things to learn from his father. He had followed after Kuro his heart feeling a little less heavy.
Trick looked to the turkey bite and then the small dragon that wanted the bite so badly. He gave a soft smile. He knew it was probably not a good thing to just give the little thing everything it wanted, but dragons were meat eaters right? Turkey wasn't going to hurt it. Instead of taking the turkey from Kuro though he let him feed it to the dragon watching the dragon carefully to make sure it didn't bite or anything.
His ears twitched and he looked to the window to see the cat jump in. His eyes lit up slightly and his tail wagged. Ah a cat. He truly loved animals and that cat was such a beautiful grey. He looked towards Kuro who seemed to really like this cats companionship.
"Cats are pretty great huh? Their fur is always so soft and they are warm. Having one around is really nice. They can make great companions though sometimes they seem to be a bit aloof."
Trick enjoyed all animals. It was nice to see that Kuro seemed to have a rather good relationship with this cat. He liked seeing that. It made him happy.
Though Smokey is comfortable around his owner it had looked Zovan over a few times.. Cautiously as many animals would be a bit nervous of Zovan's kind. Even one so young. Zovan however was not careful of Smokey and had jumped over nipping and eating Kuro's turkey rather freely almost bumping into Smokey even. Before speaking again an a excited tone in draconic.
Meanwhile...
It was clear that Arthur was used to being open about such things. He seemed a bit embarrassed when Zahira came close. He had looked into her eyes tilting his head his cheeks flushing even more crimson than before. He had whispered softly back to her.
"M-My bad.. You're even cuter when you're this c-close though."
He had chuckled a bit before clearing his thoat and backing up but only slightly as he nodded along her conversation of purifying water and food.
"Wait.. Paladins can prepare that?! I'll have to ask my dad about it!"
"Yeah.. My brother's so paranoid he has me cast it on all his food and water.. All the time unless he got it from the store. Like our family chefs are gonna suddenly poison him or something... He's certainly odd."
Though Nelson hadn't said much it was clear he had heard Zephyro as he began to make his way upstairs. It takes a few moments, a minute or two but heading down are two immaculate elves.
And in time, three high elves accompanied by Nelson had came down the staircase. In the forefront an elegant older man with blond hair and pronounced features. Golden eyes and a strong jawline. Though he had an intense look about him he had offered the guest a warm and welcoming smile.
"Welcome welcome! Zephyro's honored guest and if it isn't the young Chevalier it is a pleasure."
"Uhh.. Sure what's up!"
The elder elf had simply stared at Arthur for a moment clearing his throat before speaking once more.
For those unaware I am Athyren Aethylmir and this is my wife Fayla Aethlymir and my daughter Shaylin Aethlmir."
An elder but beautiful elven woman with deep sea eyes and silver blonde hair had offered a curtsy. Arthur had exclaimed a bit surprised but had offered one right back. Almost causing Himari to chuckle a bit as she offered her own curtsy though hers was a bit.. Brutish and maybe even forced it was her fair effort.
However Shaylin (Clearly forced to dress for the occasion as Zephyro would know.) Did not have the same self control. The blonde elf with emerald green eyes and a mischievous look in her eyes had giggled a bit at Arthur's antics.
"A pleasure sir Knight.. And.. Is that a real bug bear..? Oh I have to feel you're fur please!"
"Shaylin dear that is no way for an Aethlimir to behave in front of guest. Though.. A bug bear is.. Admitattly a surprirse."
OOC Kirai I'll let ya know what Zovan said in Draconic as you would know xD
(Lol Owlbear is telling me that you will have to accept my request before I can see the map.)
Insight (With advantage): 10 (lol the other one was a 7 :'D)
Zeph smiles when his family descends the stairs. Any hints of nervousness almost vanish as his father greets his guests. How can he stay nervous when Arthur is around? His father certainly doesn't approve of the young paladin's behavior, but of course he wouldn't push the matter for obvious reasons. And then there is Shaylin, she always brightens the room...even without trying. He wonder's how much of a fuss she made about having to wear that dress...
Chuckling at his sister's fascination with Shar, he steps forward to introduce his friends. "Father, Mother, Shaylin these are two of my party members." He gestures to Zahira and Shar. "This is Zahira Etesian and of course Shar..." He pauses for a moment realizing that the bugbear never stated a sir name...perhaps bugbears simply didn't use them? He turns back to his family and continues after motioning towards Himari, "I believe you all met Himari when we had dinner with the Chavelier's, but I feel like I should introduce her again just in case. She is part of Arthur's party after all."He laughs, "I informed father of this, but my party and Arthur's party are working on an assignment together. Since this may become a common occurrence I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you all to the people I've been working with."
As a response to Arthur's words, Zahira smiled mischievously and leant in a little more:
- I'm sorry? I didn't hear you well, what did you say? - she said, and giggled, which made clear that she had heard perfectly well and was just messing with the paladin. Arthur looked so cute when he blushed that she couldn't help but wanting to play a little more.
But when Zeph's parents and sister appeared, she shifted from her playful look to a serious one. Athyren and Fayla looked so beautiful, but also stately and imposing! Shayla was lovely, and Zahira instantly liked her more cheerful and relaxed behaviour, which she showed by smiling at her when she begged to touch the Shar's fur.
When Zephyro introduced them, she curtsied the best she could and said:
- I am pleased to make your acquaintance. Zephyro helped me find my way around the school on our very first day at Rising Dawn, and we have been party companions ever since. I am very glad to be studying and working with him, and also along Shar, Arthur and Himari, of course! I thing we do make fine teams! - she said, sharing a look and a smile with her friends.
"...yeah," Kuro said in response to Trick as the little dragon ran over to steal Smokey's food. Oh well, it wasn't like Smokey needed all of it anyways, and if Trick doesn't mind the creature eating table scraps then... well it doesn't really matter to Kuro.
He blinks again when the dragon starts talking... maybe it wasn't a good idea to ignore learning draconic. ...it just didn't come naturally for him the way it did for Father.
Absently he wonders how long their parents are going to talk. He still needs to tell Mom what actually happened... though maybe she'll forget about it for now what with Trick's family coming over. If he's lucky he can wait until a time when Father isn't home, that way Mom can explain it without him present. Otherwise... well who know's what Father's reaction will be.
He gently moves Smokey onto the opposite side of him so that the hyper dragon doesn't knock him over.
Huh!? No way you mean that! You look.. So strong! Nothing could actually scare you right? I bet you were the strongest guy where you came from! I bet you woulda been on the frontlines with me and Himari and sent those gremlins packing!"
"Oh I... I do not know if I am the strogest in my hood... I mean I never tested it... when I... " he seems embarrased "When I was a kid I accidentally pushed a kid away and hurted him.. he hit a stone and was badly injured... he made it but... since then I tried to control my strength... that's one of the reasons I started to practice sports you know.. but... " he suddenly realizes that he is giving too much explanations and that he hasn't replied to the last part of Arthur's sentence " Uh Oh yes... I would had helped you in any way I could... I mean... those creatures sound like dangerous to the others... but I would be scared all the time... I guess... "
Himari had looked to Shar as a bit of guilt began to invade in her eyes.
"Oh gosh.. You're right. You're not from a noble family are you..? Jeez.. I feel guilty for worrying. People from Starkwood say bug bears are dangerous too.. I hope Zephyro's father doesn't believe that though. He's from Straus right..? I'm sorry.. I'm not as good on politics as my brother is."
"Do not worry I just hope I do not cause any trouble to Zephyro... I know I am out of my league both at the school, they gave me this scholarship you know... I didn't ask for it... and with you guys... I mean I want to help you... but I do not want to cause any trouble.. "
To Nelson
"Ahh yes master Aethymlir, many people shine when in a familiar environment. Though I must admit I've never seen a Bug Bear in Crystal Meadows. That being said.. Though some have a fear for them around here. My brother was saved by a Bug Bear soldier in the great war. I hear you're kind can be an honorable sort and with that you have my respect young master."
As Nelson had exited the vehicle to open the door for each of them. (Unless they beat him to opening it no roll required.) He had offered Shar a rather sincere bow. Before them was a massive mansion and grand import.
Shar has been looking out the window, managing to squeeze his entire size into the seat somehow, as if he was in an different dimenssion.
"I didn't know houses could be so big... how many families live in there?" he mumbles to himself as they passed by but the others can hear him.
He is absolutely shsocked with Nelson's show of respect and he bows in response not really sure what to do.
"Uuh.. thank you Sir Nelson, Sir... I am sure that your brother would had done the same thing, were their roles inversed... my grandfather used to say that in battle one must look for his comrades, for the only way to see the end of the conflict was in saving lives, not taking them... "
Once again, noticing that he is talking too much, he bows again, almost dropping his sports gear in the proccess, and blush, going silent again..
To Zeph's
Putting his crystal away, he grins back at Mr. Nelson. "I couldn't have said that better myself. Oh? Your brother was saved by a bugbear during the war? Now that's a story you've never told me." He glances at Shar, "Haha, sounds like you really will be a great addition to our party. I'm not going to lie, we've really been needing an actual frontliner..."
"Well I do hope I could do that... I hope my armor" he pats the sports bag he carries along with the backpack "would make it...normally when people sees my size they just.. back away... let's hope that will be all "he says with a smirk.
To Zahira
Oh, Shar, I'm sorry. This must be an incredible weird day for you and probably not what you expected for a first day. But I'm sure that in no time you'll change whatever bad opinion others may have on bugbears. You are going to make a very fine addition not only to Rising Dawn, but to our party - and she nods at Zephyro - we were definitely in need of someone like you!
"Thank.. thank you Zahira it's been really... different indeed but interesting, and you seem to be doing important, we have to help your friend trapped and... I will not let anyone hurt you... "
At Zephiro's family appears Shar stands up and tries, without much luck, to stretch his shirt as if it would make it fancier or better looking. "It's, it's a honor to meet you and your family Sir Athren... sir... I... I know that my kind are rarely seen here... I just started today at Rising Dawn School, thanks to a sports scholarship you see... I..." but he was interrupted by the energy and request of the little girl and he look at her with his mouth opened and chuckle "My... hehe But of course..." he says starting to kneel to allow the girl to touch his arm but he stops when her mother calls her out. "Oh.. " he simply says not sure on what to do and regaining his standing posture but as soon as someone else talks and the eyes are not on him he looks at the little girl and winking at her he mouths "later ok?"
Trick smiled lightly before watching the little dragon. Seemed that it very much liked the turkey. It wasn't a surprise though was it? It was a meat eater. He definitely could understand the cats nervousness around a small dragon.
"Calm down a bit Zovan. I don't want you to accidentally hurt the cat or scare him."
These words were of course said in draconic. Draconic was something he learned during his time defending creatures against poachers. He was glad he could understand his dragon it made life a bit easier. He looked to Kuro curiously. He was so quiet. Trick wasn't use to having to be the one to make conversation himself. He was a bit quiet himself. He was sure if he was a bit more talkative he wouldn't have those awkward moments with that detective. He would have said something by now. His ear flickered slightly. Not the time to think about that.
"So I know you like cats. Do you like other animals as well?"
Trick of course loved all animals. Even the ones that might prove dangerous to him.
Right before their arrival Arthur had went to repeat himself to Zahira before realizing she was teasing him. His cheeks turned an even hotter red before he let out a playful chuckle.
"All right.. You got me, jeez how.. did you get so adorable?"
Himari had looked over and shook her head to Arthur's rather direct words. Arthur and Himari wanted to respond to Shar next... However Zephyro's parents had made their debut. Arthur had offered Shar a carefree smile instead.
Zeph Shar and Zahira don't notice anything out of the ordinary. Athren had looked to Himari's curstey with a raised an eyebrow and even more so to Shar.
"Ahh, I recall lady Sato, how is you're father? I am sure he must be rather busy as of late."
"Y-Yes sir.. He is doing well though"
"I must admit I've never seen a bugbear off the fields of the battle. Many had said that conversation was not something they had enjoyed, imagine my surprise to see one at the school."
Shaylin turned and glared at her father with her lower lip stuck out but he hadn't acknowledged her presence in the slightest.
"Zahira Esestian.. You're last name strikes me an odd fancy but I can't exactly recall. ..Ahh wait Burguss knights yes? They and the Chevaliers had played pretty big parts in the great war. You're parents are venerated Knights I thank them for their service. Thanks to their contribution as well as many others, the old regime was able to fall and give birth to the Straus Haven we know today"
Shaylin had looked the group over catching Zahira's smile she gave a grin and offered an energetic wave flailing her arm playfully. However Fayla had smacked her arm offering her a firm head shake as Shaylin huffed holding her hand. Mr Nelson taking to the side of the family had still offered Shar a humble bow as he recalled his words from before. It seemed Shar's words had struck some respect in Nelson's eyes.
Shaylin seemed a bit down.. Before seeing Shar saying "Later ok" or mouthing it her eyes began to glisten with cheer as she offered a nod. Athren had looked to Shar surprised by his words.
"You seem rather well spoken, and you don't seem to be controlled by you're impulse and emotion. So you are aware that you're kind are rare in academies? I believe it's to be safe. Not.. All bugbears are soft spoken as you so it is best to be safe at the academy. The principal is already.. A reckless old man. If you ask me he should be replaced."
"Dear I don't think we should state something so brash on the principals' behalf."
"Well, perhaps not but.. What do you all think of him? What do you're families think of him? I'm sure Arthur you're father has doubts."
"Oh my old man? Uhh.. He says.. He's electric and odd.. But there is a method to his madness and he proved to be a good mentor when he was growing up. Even in a time before academies."
"Arthur.. eccentric not eletric..."
Oh that makes sense I thought he made he was made of electricity!
Athren couldn't help but let out a soft sigh at Arthur's.. Antics.
"I see.. You have not changed master Chevalier."
Yup!!
Athren had turned from Arthur and to Zahira's own introduction.
"Fine teams you say? I suppose, I hope Zephyro's magics have been proving their worth in any of you're assignments."
Meanwhile..
The dragon had cooed as Kuro moved the cat, the tomcat let out a gruff but grateful mewl. The dragon spoke in draconic with a pouting expression.
As Trick told the dragon to calm down it only spoke more rolling on it's back before rolling into a full tantrum.
The conversation downstairs seemed... Quiet surprisingly so given the intensity things had reached at one point.
"Ye..yes Sir " replies Shar to Athren, obviously intimidated by his mere presence yet the elven noble has done nothing but speak and rather politely "I do reckon the great opportunity that is given to me. I hope to be worthy of the trust that the director has put on me and the hopes of my family... Sir.. "he adds with a hint of doubt on that last word, for he isn't sure how to properly address Athren. But he hoped that with his sentence he had made clear that he think high of the principal, even if he had meet him just twice, once when he showed up at his home and talk with his parents and earlier today, the fact that he is given Shar that chance made him think high of him.
When Athyren began addressing all of them, Zahira payed even more attention to his behaviour and words. Mainly because of what she had heard from Zephyro so far, but also because she knew Himari and uncle Plash weren't on his good side. All in all, she didn't have much reason to like this man beforehand, and a couple of the things he had mentioned made her frown a little.
First, the insistence on mentioning Shar's race ("Ok, man, we get it: bugbears like him aren't very common. But is it necessary to insist on it this much?"- was Zahira's thought, a little worried that all this talk made their new companion unconfortable when it was clear he was shy enough already), and then blatantly saying that Principal Forthright should be replaced?? Shar had replied himself and did seem ok but at this last comment Zahira didn't stay quiet:
- Oh, I think Mr Forthright is a good principal. It is true he can be a bit weird at times, but I believe he does what is best for students. For example, he could have not accepted Shar in the school, but in doing so he's helping us expand our minds and horizons. I believe it is good to give a chance to races that have been considered dangerous so far, so we can all benefit from the culture exchange.
Fayla's behaviour in smacking Shayla's arm wasn't of the genasi's liking either, and Zahira offered the girl a sympathetic smile. She hoped she could speak speak to Zeph's sister some other time, when their parents where not present, as she thought she was really lovely and nice. And very different to her parents.
When Athyren mentioned her own parents, she nodded.
- Thank you, Mr Aethylmir, for your kind words towards my family. My parents are indeed devoted knights, and they did work hard during the war, and keep doing it now that there is peace. I am very proud of them, even though I have chosen to follow my uncle steps to become an Artificer, instead of theirs. But my little brother, Tobias, will try to follow the way of the knights - she smiled fondly remembering little Tobey, she should really go visit him soon, as she hasn't done that in a while!
When the topic changes to Zephyro as a magic user, Zahira thinks "uh - oh ....!" but quickly answers:
- Well, of course! Zephyro's knowledge has been a great help in every situation! I'm very happy to count him as a team mate!
Kuro blinks at Trick's question, then shrugs, "...I guess." Honestly he preferred any animal over people most of the time. They were quieter, and most often, they were more understanding too. But he really only had experience with cats since well... there were so many strays around here. He patted the pouting dragon on the head, unsure why it got upset in the first place, then runs his other hand down Smokey's back.
He probably should think of more to say, but... well what is he supposed to say? What is he supposed to ask? He shifts slightly, eyes focusing on the cat and the dragon rather than Trick.
(OOC: More awkward silence. Kuro's favorite thing. :'D Its funny that we ended up putting two of the quiet characters together.)
Zephyro can't help but feel a bit embarrassed by his Father's bluntness. Not to mention he had been worrying about how his father would treat Himari, without even thinking about how he would see Shar. And now on top of that he is flat out saying he doesn't approve of their principal? Well, this meeting sure is going great isn't it. He sighs mentally.
He takes on a distant look as he ponders the words of his father, Arthur, and Zahira, finding himself nodding slightly to what the genasi says only stop himself. "I'd be lying If i said I disagreed with anything that was just said. My opinion of Forthright is...well...extremely mixed." He looks towards Zahira, "I DO believe he has good intentions." Then he turns back to everyone, "But sometimes I don't know what to think about his idea of teaching." He shrugs, "Overall, I think the school itself is doing well, and the other teachers make up for Forthright's... odd behavior."
Then his father asks about his skills as a mage....Well at least the young elf was expecting that. And of course Zahira comes to his rescue. He smiles, "Thanks Zahira, that means a lot." Then he looks to his family, " Though I must say, I'm glad Zahira and our other member, Trick, have learned some healing spells. Most of mine are geared towards utility and offense. Hah, I'd give you a demonstration, but some events this morning all but drained my energy. I've been saving my last reserves for one last spell."He winks at Shaylin, "I think you'll find it very entertaining."

Taking a piece of turkey, he offers it Trick, "You can give it to Zovan... if you want."
And she follows Zephyro into his beautiful home.

- ... it is "Purists", not "Purifiers"... but it's best if we keep this to ourselves.

OOC
I'll give Shar a chance to post before I do but if he'd rather I post first that can work too ^~^
Just thought I'd try not leaving him behind ^~^

Here's our new Owlbear and the manor! (if you prefer another map I can find one!)
Zahira and Shar may make insight checks!
Zephyro can make this one at advantage!
Also here are some pictures! (I still need some for Kuro as I think I lost those but don't worry I lost Zephyro's before too lol)
Shaylin
Athren
Fayla
Of course if anyone finds pictures they prefer for their family I'll gladly trade out since they are important to each character ^~^
She is part of Arthur's party after all." He laughs, "I informed father of this, but my party and Arthur's party are working on an assignment together. Since this may become a common occurrence I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you all to the people I've been working with."
(OOC: my super insight check is ... 5 😔)

Replying to Arhur and Himari
I hope my armor" he pats the sports bag he carries along with the backpack "would make it...normally when people sees my size they just.. back away... let's hope that will be all " he says with a smirk.
I..." but he was interrupted by the energy and request of the little girl and he look at her with his mouth opened and chuckle
"My... hehe But of course..." he says starting to kneel to allow the girl to touch his arm but he stops when her mother calls her out. "Oh.. " he simply says not sure on what to do and regaining his standing posture but as soon as someone else talks and the eyes are not on him he looks at the little girl and winking at her he mouths "later ok?"
PbP Character: A few ;)
Sir.. " he adds with a hint of doubt on that last word, for he isn't sure how to properly address Athren. But he hoped that with his sentence he had made clear that he think high of the principal, even if he had meet him just twice, once when he showed up at his home and talk with his parents and earlier today, the fact that he is given Shar that chance made him think high of him.
PbP Character: A few ;)
When Athyren began addressing all of them, Zahira payed even more attention to his behaviour and words. Mainly because of what she had heard from Zephyro so far, but also because she knew Himari and uncle Plash weren't on his good side. All in all, she didn't have much reason to like this man beforehand, and a couple of the things he had mentioned made her frown a little.
First, the insistence on mentioning Shar's race ("Ok, man, we get it: bugbears like him aren't very common. But is it necessary to insist on it this much?" - was Zahira's thought, a little worried that all this talk made their new companion unconfortable when it was clear he was shy enough already), and then blatantly saying that Principal Forthright should be replaced??

I've been saving my last reserves for one last spell." He winks at Shaylin, "I think you'll find it very entertaining."
