"I know nothing of the stranger", Joen answers, "I simply fear that it is my old cowardice coming back to haunt me in some way..."
Grady Investigation: 8(made at advantage, I'm assuming Ullington is aiding based on his last post)
In the foreigner's bag, Grady finds some dry rations, a dagger, and several sheets of paper, all blank. The bag also contains a set of spare clothing that sits atop a hidden pocket. Inside the pocket is a pouch containing 10 gold pieces and a folded piece of paper. Unfolding it reveals a realistic sketch of a man's face, with the words Veren: WANTED Alive for Sexual Assault. Reward 100 gp.
The paper laying atop the desk is a schematic or a blueprint of some sort, you see as you get closer. Ullington's experience in tinkering leads him to quickly realize that the foreigner was making a switchblade that can easily be hidden and strapped to the forearm. The schematic explains some missing parts and the mechanism for the deadly gadget.

OOC: I would have assisted Grady. Thank you.
“Grady, look at this,” says Ullingtin. “I’m not the tinkerer my brother is, but I do dabble. This would be quite the nasty surprise strapped under the sleeve. Useful in self defense or aggression.”
Ullingtin inspects the paper carefully looking for small writing, symbols hidden in the margins, watermarks, or any other method of obscuring information. This includes holding the plans up to the light.
Inspection roll (plusguidance): 11
Ullingtin then turns his attention to the wanted poster. “I can think of two types of person who would carry something like this. The hunter and the prey. That fact it was hidden worries me. We must seek out someone who knows the stranger and see if the face is his.”
There doesn't seem to be anything else to the blueprint. Closer inspection reveals no hidden writing or symbols.
In response to Shek'lok, Joen simply sighs. "I know you're right...I'm no coward now, but I was afraid of life back then. I fear someone that knows that is targeting our village because of that fact."
“Doesn’t seem to be anything else on these plans,” Ullingtin says as he carefully stows then in his pack. “Perhaps we should give the rest of the room a once over before we leave. I’ll take the bottom half if you go high, Grady.”
The short gnome carefully checks under the desk, the bed, along the floor and walls, and any other low furniture in the room. He carefully looks for loose boards, secret compartments, and clues to any conflict of activities the occupant engaged in.
Inspection: 8
Perception:17
(OOC: Is there a window in the room? If so I’d suggest Grady took a look at it, looking for forced entry or exit. )

"I see... do you suspect of anyone that you may ever known in the past?" ask Shek'lok to Joen " Or it just that someone could think that you are still afraid and take advantage of it?"
The rest of the foreigner's room is empty. It appears that he barely had time to settle before he went missing. The lone window in the room shows no signs of recent entry or exit.
"I am bewildered, my friend", Joen replies, "The men are just...gone. We have no leads at all; but I cannot let it go. I am responsible for them, as unpleasant as Jacob and Torick could be.". He is genuine, and means every word of what he has said tonight.
True to Joen's words, Dearg finds nothing else out of the ordinary in the village. The most commonly traversed areas are the Jolly Widow and the church in the north end of the village.

"Well Joren" replies Shek'lok "We will do our best to find what's happening. "He then continues the patrol in silence, memorizing the layout of the village and the terrain for future reference.
Grady finishes searching the room with Ullingtin and is quietly thinking of that wanted poster. (OOC: was there a region or city mentioned who approved the order? Where did the wanted poster come from?)
He tucks the man's pack under the desk behind the chair without taking anything. Then once Ullingtin is satisfied with their search he locks the room behind them, tucking the key away safely, and retiring to his own room once he has said a quick good night.
(OOC: DM, we haven’t talked about what other equipment our characters might have. Would it be feasible for my character to have some ink and parchment? I believe he’d normally use it to make sketches of new fungi species and to take a “spore print” where to press the cap onto paper to see the color and shape of the spores. This is used to differentiate species that look similar.
The reason I ask is Ullingtin would like to try and make a copy of the face on the wanted poster by opening a window, placing a candle outside on the ledge and then holding the poster and blank parchment against the glass. While backlit he could them accurately copy the face so they would have an image to show around without needing to take the stranger’s copy.)
OOC: Grady - No city or region is mentioned on the wanted poster
Ullington - Yes, absolutely. There's also ink and parchment in the foreigner's room, so Ullington can make a copy - excellent creativity!
Everyone - Sounds like we're wrapping up the late night activities and are ready for a long rest. It is very late at night, so if anybody does not want to rest through the night they can take a forgo the rest for a level of exhaustion.
(OOC: That was awesome creativity! We also don't have to take a wanted poster around, we can just take the picture- great strategy and well thought out.)
You awake to the sound of church bells. A glance out the window shows that the morning fog has rolled in, dimming what must be a bright, happy morning elsewhere. Surprisingly, at this early hour there are still a small number of villagers drinking at the inn.
"Good morning!" Loretta greets you in the tavern below. "Any luck so far? Can I get you some breakfast, tea, or some strong ale?"
Known Locations: Jolly Widow Church Cleansing House
Ullingtin follows Grady back to the groups rooms and retires as well. He notes the sleeping ranger and rogue.
“Its been a long day, we can discuss what we found in the morning.”
(/OOC Thanks for the kudos, you guys! Skillmore, that’s Exactly what I was thinking. A wanted poster colors the conversation to much, and we don’t know who is who yet. This way we can just identify the face.
Also while Ullingtin completely agreed about leaving everything in the bag in the room he totally would have have taken the blueprints. Because tinkering.)
“Good morning Ulligtin “ says Shek’lok when he appears in the common room “ Thanks Loretta, some fruit and tea will do for me thanks.”
When the gnome sits at the table he says in low voice
“Have you notice that there’s a significant number of people drinking, even at this early hour? As the two villagers that had dissapeared. I am starting to think that the dissapearances had to do with the behaviour of the victims. Do we know if the stranger had drinking issues? “ he thinks for a few seconds, as if he was recalling information “Or a violent behaviour? What were you be able to discover at his room?”
Ullingtin nods to Shek’lok. “Good morning my half-elf friend. Those are suspicions I am beginning to share.”
Ully pulls out the blueprints and drawing of the face and slides them over to show the rogue. “We found plans for a concealed weapon and a wanted poster with this face. Our missing stranger is either a criminal, or someone looking for one. The crime was of a most unsavory sort. If our missing person was the hunter, I fear they plan violence in the name of vengeance,” he says speaking softly so only the table can hear.
”Grady found a few other things he can share when he awakes. In the mean time I’d like to hear anything you found, and begin to put a name to this face...”

Grady inspects the bag and it's contents, looking for anything that may be useful.
He also carefully holds the top sheet of paper up to the candle light to try and see what was last written on the previous sheet.
After he has done that he double checks the room as a whole, under the bed, mattress and under the desk for anything he could have missed.

Once done with the woodline I would like to check all the outlying buildings for either signs of drag marks or overly secured sheds or cellars.
