"I am well-studied in the various rituals of death," the lich says quietly. "More than a few of which involve consuming the remains in various ways... but this ritual is new to me. I wouldn't be opposed to running a few experiments within this realm myself..."
"Indeed!" Khessa smiles "The lure of knowledge... I feel it too".
Lorlin responds to Khessa, when a moment presents itself, perhaps noticing the perplexed look. “Boccob… is God of knowledge and arcane magic, from the realm from whence I came. True, my undead friend- I can resurrect, even now, if we felt it is … appropriate. I don’t do such things… lightly. Fate is a fascinating thing, sometimes not to be meddled with. I’ve found when raising the dead must be done, the signs are clear. Death is a reward for the life well lived. There are far worse fates... “. Her voice trails off. Although she appears very young, something about the weight of her voice indicates she has vast experience.
"I... wasn't aware that I said anything about that out loud,"Akkron says quietly, doing his best not to interrupt the ceremony. "But in any case, I wasn't thinking about whether or not we should resurrect him... I am quite aware that bringing back the dead is not to be undertaken lightly. What puzzles me is that none of the bereaved even asked us if we had the capability to do so."
Akkron goes silent and watches the mourners leaving seeds on the corpse for a while. He glances down at the scimitar the party took from the deceased... its abilities would be of little use to Akkron... he already has a far more powerful (and less temperamental) weapon. Perhaps it could be useful to Dabbert or Khessa, if they could somehow convince the blasted thing to let them attune to it. But somehow it doesn't feel right to attend the man's funeral and then rob him of what was most likely his most treasured possession.
As the crowd begins to thin out, the lich stands up and approaches the body. Resolutely, he lays the blade at the feet of the corpse.
"This belongs to you, and I have no claim to it," he says. "May you find peace in the next world."
He then returns to his companions and settles back onto his barstool.

"Oh, a god of magic! Maybe he would made for a good husband for our goddess of magic, Mystra!" replies Khessa, while thinking 'This one can read thoughts at the slightest hints... Good! We'll spare a lot of conversation. And how much wisdom in her words... But there is something that I better make clear...'
"Anyway, Lorlin, just for you to know..." the blonde arcane warrior cares to point out "I have a family that awaits my return, at home. Should I have an... ehm... incident, during our quest to set things right, do me a favor... Leave wisdom aside and don't think too much about signs and fate - just bring me back, will you?" she winks "Thank you in advance!"

(OOC: Oh, so it would be almost all we have, if I well understand? No then... too much... we might need the seeds for something more critical)
"Oh, sorry then," is a bit surprised at the price Khessa "I think I have to find more founds. But I'll come back to you if I can find enough. I can find you here? Or where? Do you have a shop?"
“If you got a sending spell on ya that would work. I’m working on some other kind of communication set up but that’s what’s best for now. Just fire one off to Christie Glumm and I’ll get there.”
"If that is the best way to contact you, then it will do," Akkron says. "Though I don't currently have that spell prepared... I really need to take a few hours to go through my spellbook and make sure that I have the best spells ready for the situation at hand. Speaking of which, who should we talk to about getting a couple of rooms?"
Akkron glances at Dabbert as the soldier attempts to converse with the slime creature.
"Um, Dabbert... our server is an oblex spawn," the lich says. "They can't talk. Give him a century or so to absorb memories and you might have more luck."

The goopy bartender goes into a history lecture on his brewing techniques completely in gestures and shape shifting. You piece together that the beverage is distilled from the plant life grown via the funerary services you witnessed earlier & probably includes a few seed extracts given the color. It’s probably fine to drink as long as you’re ok consuming plants grown from the dead.
Akkron watches in fascination as the slime turns into a... um... slime mime.
"Well... that's not something you see every day," the lich says with a low chuckle. "So, are the rest of you ready to call it a night? I don't need to sleep... but I do need time to prepare my spells. And Khessa, I think that I still have something I need to teach you... I've never seen so many Beholders in one place, but I have a spell in my book that I think will prove invaluable if we need to combat them."

Khessa was smiling in turn, amused by the slime mime, but a new strong emotion quickly becomes hegemonic in her, at the words of the lich...
"Master Akkron!" the blonde arcane warrior's blue eyes widen with excitement "Are you serious? It's going to be great! Just like the old days! I'm even ready to a sleepless night, if necessary, to learn new spells from you! Shall we begin?"
"Yes, we can... as soon as we find somewhere to lodge for the night. If we have to I suppose we could use a Tiny Hut and make camp outside, but I personally prefer to have solid walls around me when I'm trying to rest."
Or I could could use my Wish to create a Mighty Fortress and not have to worry about figuring out where to stay for the next seven days, he thinks to himself, but puts that idea aside. While certainly a worthy use for a Wish, there might be even better ways to put the last one in his ring to use.

The display that the Oblex Spawn goes through is not something Dabbert had expected, and if anyone had told him that it was coming, and then that he'd understand what was happening, he'd have thought they were crazy. As it is, he slowly shifts his focus from the slime-mime to the drink he has in his hand, and then thinks about the fact that he's put down two tankards of it so far.
"I uh..." He says. He pauses, waits a moment, rubs his chin. He looks at Akkron, back at the Oblex thing, back at the empty tankard. "I uh..."
He waits, shifts his jaw from side to side.
"Well shit." He says. "And I thought it was pretty good at first."
He almost looks alarmed when Akkron mentions that the thing absorbs memories.
"Sure hope it doesn't share what it learned from me. That'd be embarrassing. Yeah, let's go."
"Yes, we can... as soon as we find somewhere to lodge for the night. If we have to I suppose we could use a Tiny Hut and make camp outside, but I personally prefer to have solid walls around me when I'm trying to rest."
...
"Oh, I remember that comfortable and dry dome of force! Not too big, but perhaps also for this more intimate, in its own way... How many times have we used it in the Underdark..." Khessa remembers "And how many times In later years, Jasper enjoyed teasing me for never learning that spell! 'You say you apprenticed to an ancient lich, and you haven't even learned how to protect us from the cold when we have to camp out in the open!' But when I proved to him that magic isn't necessarily always the best choice to warm up, he didn't complain anymore!" she smiles "This is to say, however, that I would have no problem passing the night in the Tiny Hut... But if you prefer physical walls, that's fine, let's hear how many vegetables they want for a room".
"Yes indeed... price is certainly one thing that I shouldn't let myself forget about..." Akkron says, then looks at the Beholder barkeeper. "Jeff, could we get lodging here, and if so, how much would it cost us?"

“I don’t have any rooms but if you don’t got a place to go feel free to pick a booth or camp out in a corner. It wouldn’t be the first time folks have slept it off here.” You do in fact see a few patrons cozying up in a few booths as runes glow as they get situated and eventually start snoring.

Dabbert listens as the old friends catch up, and continues to drink the weird drink that was placed before him no less than twice at this point.
"You uh...never explained to me what your story is." He said, pointing at his goopy bartender. "Or uh...what this is I'm drinking."
