After she finishes helping the last few people get off the ship, Nuria returns to Gilgamesh and the few other people who offered to go below. When the dragonborn offers her bow back, she ducks her head and hesitantly takes it back, unstrings it, and puts it away. If there is a fight below deck, it would likely be in far to close quarters for a bow to be useful. The girl's hand returns to her knife hilt as she waits her turn to go below deck. She follows just after Gilgamesh.
Under Gilgamesh' lead, the group as a whole soon descends into the bowels of the ship. It is only here that it truly becomes apparent in how bad of a state the ship truly was; and it had never quite looked the best from the outside.
Firstly, it had already been obvious that the ship had been listing slightly from the outside, but inside this became obvious, as they noted how the second set of staircases leading into the actual hold was already completely waterlogged. The ship is tilted slightly off to the right, but also leaning toward the front. This makes it so that near the very front of the second deck, the place is already partially flooded. Near the back, it becomes dry. As they've taken the hatch near the back, their feet remain dry for now, although there seems to be no way into the hold without diving. The water seems like it might be rising but very, very slowly.
Once it gets to the point that it gets to the hatches on the second deck, though, that might not last long. Slick now notices there had been a few of them, but they had been locked. Locked probably does not equate watertight, though. But at least it means that judging by current progress, they have some time.
Although these might have all been secondary thoughts compared to the things they noticed first. The sheer mess. Furniture is wrecked, slung to the sides, and charred pieces are strewn all about.
Along with the bodies. At least fifteen bodies lie strewn about the deck on a first observation. One of them unpleasantly so right at the ladder up, one hand still clasped around a rung. Someone that tried to escape still, but found their way barred. Many lay surrounded in a pool of their own blood, making it quite obvious that there is no saving them.
So at first, it'd be easy to forgive the group for thinking that the figures near the back of the ship, lying on the ground, were suffering a similar fate. It's Nuria, Oren and Breldo who note that these people at least are very much still alive and conscious, even if two of them appear already wounded. Many still keep a blade clutched in their hands, but now they're just... Lying on the ground, on their sides, their faces pressed against the deck.
Nuria shivers, she doesn't like this at all. Looking down into the dark water below the stairs, she swallows. She's not a terrible swimmer, but she's not a great one either. Slicks voice causes her to jump slightly, then look back at him. "W-well there's a l-lot of dead people down here. A-and the ones who aren't dead...t-there's something wrong with them." She whispers, then she glances back at Gilgamesh, and then whoever else is in front of her. She's glad that she wasn't the first to follow the captain down here, and she doesn't want to be the first to confront the crew.

Tuck grabs his rapier and dagger a bit tighter, responding to Nuria's exclamation; being shorter, he can't immediately spot what's going on as they descend, though he does finally get a better chance to look around . "If there are some that's not dead, but playing as such, I'd be leery of a surprise attack; that's a classic ambush manuever - or craven attempt to avoid notice..."He sounds like one with ... some experience in the matter.

Khond meanwhile nods to the tiefling that just got on board, who at first just shrugs to his question.
"Dunno. I guess they are just getting everyone off first. Anyway, this boat is full, right? We should probably get going."
"No rush, no rush. There's still room for more, and the cat that went up there to help hasn't come back yet, so there must be more to come still."

Oren sees the very odd actions of the people just lying on the deck. He readies his warhammer in one hand and his shield in the other. "They are acting odd. Odd usually means very dangerous when they are holding weapons. Be ready everyone." He will move so that he is more near the front of the line that will meet them if they end up charging.
It becomes obvious that Gilgamesh at first hadn't even noticed that the group of people not that far away from them was only "pretending" to be dead- His first action directly upon the person at the foot of the stairs, a few scaly fingers checking against the neck of the young man who's life was cut short, before sadly shaking his head. It's only when he hears the soft chatter from behind him mention the odd behavior, that he notices the group of about seven people himself. One hand grips the pommel of his sword as he calls out.
"Gentlemen! We are-"
Captain Gilgamesh does not get further than that as one of the men raises his head toward them. There is pure, unadultered venom in those eyes. Spittle seems to fly across all the way to them as the man shouts with such intensity and pent up rage that even the captain is caught off guard for a moment.
"Shut up! Be quiet!"
And then, his head is pressed against the floor again. Gilgamesh pauses, looking at the others. It does not look like he intends to be "quiet" himself.

The tiefling rubs his hands, a bit wary.
"Right, right. Well, the tabaxi said he still had people to save, so he'd grab another ship if need be. I just don't think it's safe to be this close, you know? Ship might go under any second!"
"...Should you be calling him cat, anyway? Don't some of them consider that an insult?"

Breldo does a small hop down, before putting his ear to the ground, a safe distance from the group at large. His other ear plugged, for a moment, the world goes quiet, as he concentrates, and...
Hears only the sound of the ocean water splashing beneath him. To be fair, judging by the hatch close to them, it is almost completely to the ceiling.
Breldo looks up at the Captain and shakes his head and shrugs, getting back to his feet. He gestures at the floor near him, then points to the far end of the room where the folks are listening to the floor and shrugs again.

"D-do you think they are trying to perform some strange ritual?" Nuria asks nervously. "I-I think the other men were right. Th-these people do seem mad." Gripping her daggers, she slowly and quietly starts to inch closer to the seven men. "We should take their weapons away." She thinks nervously. Glancing at the others, she swallows, then starts to wade into the cold water. The strange men want them to be quiet? Well, she can be quiet. Perhaps if she is quiet enough, she can get close enough to them to get a better look, if not try to steal their weapons.
