"Hello! What happened on your boat? Rick was there in the rescuing and saw some people laying on the floor and yelling about noise, but Rick doesn't think they put the holes into the side of the ship and made it sink?"
One of the men- An apparent passenger, judging by his outfit and shaken demeanor. At the very least, it seems he has calmed down to give a slightly more sensible explanation of events rather than the incoherent mess most have been giving so far.
"Well... We were sailing, skies all peaceful, but as a storm seemed to very quickly be brewing most of us went under deck while captain called hands to deck. Then, the storm started proper, rocking the entire boat, and... Lightning. I saw it striking one of the people on deck, and he was just... Gone. Not even dead or anything, just, gone- I think. Maybe I imagined it. Maybe the bodies just got swept overboard by the waves. But the storm is what caused all the damage. But as that was happening above deck, then below deck those sailors went crazy, trapping us between both!"
"And then, suddenly, the storm was gone, so... Everyone that still could ran to the top deck, and we blocked off the people down below. We saw the city by that point, so we'd hope for fast rescue..."
The passenger pauses for a second, thinking, before softly shaking his head.
"I just... Don't know. It all happened so fast is the main thing. One moment I'm enjoying the breeze on deck, the next I'm huddled down for my life together with everyone else on the lower level. I... Think it were only the people working in the hold, who went mad."
Once everyone who is acting strange is loaded off of the sinking ship, Oren looks to see which boat has the most room for him to get on and a safe ride back to the harbor and he heads down to that boat.
By the time that the group finished saving the last, possible instigators of this entire mess, have most boats already loaded, or taken some distance seeing the dangerous motions of the ship in question. But the sloop to carry the prisoners is plenty big to carry them, and so after their catch does the crew find themselves on a reliable surface. It seems like not a moment too soon, either. The group had not left the ship for what felt but seconds, or water starts pouring in through the hatches on the second level. By this point it is no longer even fair to call it a sailing vessel, and it'd take minutes at most for the entire thing to go under- As their sloop quickly makes distance.
"...That was disappointing," Gilgamesh remarks. "Felt like we were too late to truly be able to help. But mostly I just don't like it. Things don't make sense. Hopefully these men can tell us a bit more, once they've calmed down."

"Yeah, I... I probably just imagined it. They must have been flown overboard," the man spoke to himself, trying to convince himself he had seen different from what he remembered. "But I had been in the hold before. Just supplies, a bunch of stuff, nothing special I don't think. But I don't know what exactly was down there."
Khond sighs and drops the matter. There are enough other boats around that it shouldn't cause any problems, and he could understand the sailor's concern; The centaur was an actor, not a soldier, and being wary of threats of violence was understandable.

The group on the boat seem to mostly be winding down, glad to be past the mess, together with at least some of the sailors. Of the three that had been conscious, one remained in rage, but isn't much of a nuisance with a gag in his mouth that muffles most of the noise. The other, lying on his side, seems almost catatonic with his blank stare forward. Perhaps that makes it a slight surprise that the one that seems to have gone somewhat lucid, if still somewhat confused, was the one to suddenly scream out.
"What... What the hell is that?!"
Eyes quickly dart over to the man in question, then the spot he is gazing at. His eyes are fixed upward, to a point in the sky above the sinking ship...
There is nothing there. Just a few stray loose clouds drifting about.
"...It left. There- There was- Did no one see that?!"
Breldo investigates the symbol he found. It seems to detail a set of scales, but he can't place the god in question.

The man gives a bit of a wry grin as Slick suggests he must be right, a look that betrays the man isn't sure if he WANTS to be right. Because if he is, then what does that mean? Still, the assurance that he is now safe, and an added silver piece, does seem to reassure the man.
"Yeah... You're probably right," he noted, as Slick looked back. The boat is going down way faster than it seemed to be before now, really- It must have hit some kind of tipping point. But that is all he sees.
"So... Are you local to Mezzra, then?"

Khond ignores the situation, not seeing himself fit to come between whatever is going on. And so, before too long they arrive back on dry land, boat pulling into the docks... And the tiefling wastes absolutely no time slinking away, seeming to practically disappear in front of the centaurs eyes. Or maybe that's just because the tiefling moved into his blind spot. At the very least, despite the apparent threats he made earlier, did the tiefling throw a silver coin toward the captain before his departure. One could argue if it was an apology, a bribe to keep quiet, or both.
Even then, however, their arrival was noted by at least one person. Before Khond gets a chance to even disembark, has a peculiar figure worked his way to them; dressed in somewhat fancy looking, long, red robes, the bald man with a nice rounded face seemed to hold a nigh constant lazy smile. Albeit one that seemed to only widen at the sight he now saw.
"I say! One of the passengers was a centaur? Now that is exciting! I've not seen any centaurs since a few years back when the carnival passed through! Ah, pardon my excitement. Would you mind if I ask a few questions, dear sir?"
"Rick is a resident of all places, some more than others! I have only just made more physical residence in Mezzra though. Rick has found it to be a welcoming place, full of excitement and opportunity!"
He watches the boat sink a bit more before turning back to the man,
"What were you planning on doing in Mezzra? Hopefully you are still able without your possessions!"
Khond frowns some at having lost track of the troublemaker so quickly, but wastes no time in putting on a smile when approached, "Unfortunately, good sir, I was no passenger. I set out with this ship here to help haul up any unfortunate souls who would have struggled to climb aboard themselves. Still, if any questions remain, I can do my best to provide you with answers."

Rick turns to his neighbors on the boat,

Rick nods in understanding, even though he doesn't understand.
"Rick wonders why the sailors went crazy? Was it just sailors? They screamed something about listening, Rick heard nothing. Did you hear something?"
The passenger pauses for a second, thinking, before softly shaking his head.

Nuria stays close to Oren or Gilgamesh as they help put the survivors on boats. Once Oren finds a boat, Nuria follows him onto it.
"Rick's cousin got hit by lightning, she was a bit off after but didn't disappear. Smelled bad. Still smells bad probably."
Rick sniffs and wrinkles his nose at the memory before continuing,
"Rick also wonders what was in the hold? Did you see anything? Rick guesses that whatever it was is on its way to the bottom of the ocean though."
Breldo will take the satchel as they depart.

Rick hums thoughtfully in his throat before answering,
"Rick is sure you're right and now you are safe!"
Rick digs out a silver and hands it to the man.
"Rick thinks a couple of beers and you'll be fine!"
He looks around to see how far out they are and what is happening with the sinking ship.
