I walk towards the lost property wagon, keeping my dandelion safe for the moment. I also look around, are there any flowers growing among the wagons? If so I stop to pick a couple of them.

Yes, there are a few yellowish flowers growing just off the path. You collect a few. If you want to know what they are, please roll a nature check.
You wander up to the lost property area. Outside the lost property wagon is a large feline creature with midnight-blue fur and grey whiskers. It has a pair of tentacles extending from its shoulders and wears fake butterfly wings, similar to yours but a little ragged around the edges. Hanging from its collar is a small wooden keg. The creature play-wrestles with two young boys. One boy squeals, “Again, Dirla, again!” while the other hangs onto the creature’s neck.
The lost property wagon door stands open but there seems to be nobody else around.
Still beaming like a nutter, I applaud loudly as I watch the play fighting. "Wonderful! Just wonderful! Is there anything more fun than some rough and tumble with a friend? Although,"I add, wagging a finger, "you should be careful of your wings there. They're taking a bit of a battering."
Your whole party looks like they have been on the wrong side of fortune at least once. The displacer beast in front of you playing with the children looks a little downcast as well.
Hearing Zephram's words, the displacer beast tries to look over his shoulder at his wings and gets turned around, tangling his legs and tentacles together until he falls to the ground with a bit of a squeak. He quickly stands up, smoothing his whiskers with one tentacle and trying his best to look dignified. The two children laugh hysterically.
I'll look inside the lost property wagon through the doorway.
You see a couple of baskets of random trinkets. One is labelled "LOST" with only a few items in it, and one has the sign "FOUND", which has more items.
If you want to have a rummage through, let me know what you're looking for and roll an investigation check.
Looking at this Dirla creature more closely, do I recognise the type of creature and its traits from my studies of the Feywild and its inhabitants?
I'll make an Arcana roll to see:
24
You do recognise this as a displacer beast but it certainly doesn't seem to be acting in a way you'd expect one to. They are usually aggressive, but this one seems playful and harmless, albeit a little melancholy.
The two children are starting to get a little fractious so Dirla pours them a drink from the keg around his neck, and they are soon all smiles again, playing chasey around Dirla's legs
I find something to sit on nearby - a box or a tree stump or similar - and continue my chat with Dirla.
"This carnival really is very exciting, if I may say so. You can't help but be happy and have fun here, can you?" I gesture to the creature's ragged wings - they look to me like the same kind we are wearing as paying visitors to the fair. "Is that why you elected to stay?"

Dirla looks at Zephram curiously and speaks in another language.
Since you understand Sylvan, Zephram, you recognise that he has said "I don't understand Common tongue. I am sorry."
