"Alright well, what says everyone are we going to recon? We may as well get a confirmation of the zombies and this tower not being coincidence, maybe get a little more information. We need to get closer. Lai Beryl do you two agree Nobriki Cal Silf Quatt any ideas? If anyone would like a quick goodberry and we can continue on." Eron feels like they are about to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire but he is game for whatever the group decides and he meant his words to Cal, 'anything you want or need from me' when Apple came back safe, Eron made a choice, not only does he want to know Pelor, he also wants to know Cal.
"Can't do much from back here anyway, buuuuddy! Let's do it. Shall we have someone scout up ahead of us a bit so we don't all meander right into a pickle, like a whole grove of shambles?"
Nobriki will also recount to the group what he is almost positive he recalls the elders sharing with him about such structures.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Hmm.” Blair furrows his brows as he gazes at the ominous obelisk looming in the distance, his mind racing with thoughts of what it could be and what dangers might lie ahead. His blue eyes scans the structure from top to bottom, searching for any clues or hints that might give them an idea of what they were up against.
After a moment of contemplation, Blair nods his head in agreement with the rest of the party. "Yeah, let's take a closer look," He says, smiling easily. "I may not know much about that thing, but I do know we can't just wait here and let it be.”
Silf glances over at Blair, appreciating how incredibly intelligent he looks at the moment. She doesn't like the look of the obelisk one bit.
"I don't like the look of that obelisk one bit!" the fairy shouts. "I suppose we should investigate it. It has to be connected to all of these zombies shambling around!"

Blair remembers tales of a similar obelisk appearing in lands he had journeyed through but it was hundreds of years ago! The obelisk, the stories said, was the prison of a lich king named Dullahan! The prison had been conjured by powerful necromancers attempting to release the lich king upon the lands surrounding the obelisk and leading up to his release the surrounding areas are plagued by the undead! Blair never imagined the stories to be true!
Eron sees a way ahead but he knows cannot promise to navigate through without running into trouble. The ranger will know the path ahead getting the party to Turst Fields northwest of the obelisk but there isn't a clear way to avoid it entirely!

Blair's previously relaxed demeanor transforms into concern when his gentle blue eyes widen with recognition. "Friends," He says quietly, drawing their attention to him. "I remember hearing tales of a similar obelisk appearing in the lands I once traveled through, but it was centuries ago. Legend has it that this very obelisk was the prison of a lich king named Dullahan. The prison was conjured by powerful necromancers who sought to release the lich king upon the lands surrounding the obelisk. And leading up to his release, the surrounding areas were ravaged by hordes of undead creatures - zombies and skeletons that roamed the land." Blair pauses, his words hanging in the air like a dense fog. "I never imagined those stories to be true, but with that obelisk in the distance, I fear that the worst is yet to come."
What time of day are we currently? Any obvious zombies or worse moving about? Looks like a wet area we’re headed too is that accurate? Eron readies his longbow.
It's midday and Eron doesn't notice any obvious danger besides the massive floating obelisk. Below the obelisk is a marsh called the Marsh of Deadmen! The place were an ancient battle of fought and all involved took heavy losses.
OOC Nobriki is trying to figure out using Arcana if he can tell how such a thing could create zombies and thus how to stop it from doing so.
I would say that Nobriki knows it takes necromancy to create undead. Judging by the ominous obelisk he can speculate based on his paladin knowledge too that it must have some necromantic powers which are causing the dead to rise and those undead are then leaving the area to infect others.
Smacking Blair on the shoulder Nobriki proclaims "That sounds correct to me as well. As I snuck away to listen and learn the magic of my craft I remember hearing about objects like these that are clearly full of dark necromancy. If this thing is making the dead come back to life, who knows how far and fast they are spreading their infection. I imagine we need to shut this thing down to stop it. "
" Well, better get off too it, then! ". Nobriki says cheerfully, oblivious to marshes and the like.
"Shall we proceed with caution, " Beryl replies moving Navar forward with a soft sound and barely using her heels.
The party travels together forward down the valley towards the road being slightly engulfed by the swamp edging ever closer. It's eerily quite, not even a song bird sings in this late spring day!
Perception checks everyone!

Blair is the only one who notices as the party enters the swamp that's encroaching on the road that there's faint blue orbs of light moving rhythmically in the distance. They seem to be keeping their distance but following the party!
Nobriki however is so overwhelmed by the surrounding he wanders off the main path that everyone's taking into boggy ground where he's struggling to get free.
