Sylvie stretches her arms over her head before standing up. "Up to you, Nephy! Not much of a close range fighter, but can hold my own if need be. Figure it might be good to at least try it out. Would be good for thinking of strategies, at least! For getting surrounded, and maybe even getting out of it, y'know?"

"Nephy..."The young noble scoffs, trying to act like he is insulted. "Alright, if we're supposed to fight as a cohesive unit I suppose we need to train together. I believe in using terrain to our advantage though. If I'm not mistaken the Pale Hand mostly consist of ranged attackers so we would do what we can to bottleneck the enemy against Paartu while the rest of us shrivel their flesh from their bodies...ahem, I mean target them down with ranged attacks."
The group make their way to one of the three training grounds. Here they find an area that is marked out to be roughly 200 yards by 200 yards. There is a storage shed in the corner of the field which must contain some equipment.
However, the Pale Hand are not alone. The group that introduced themselves as the Demogorgons are also here.
"Hey, do you lot fancy a little bit of a competition?" Dreadbeard says asking the group.

"Yes but we're not likely to find any around here."Nepharios scoffs, trying to figure out how any training would be done without him maiming and killing the opposition.
Nepharios's attempt to appear insulted seemed to have worked, as Sylvie's shoulders slump in dejection. She doesn't say anything about it as they head towards the training grounds, however.
"We've got the size advantage, but nothing like trying for an underdog story." Sylvie shrugs. "What've you lot got in mind?"

Alcazar, who was about to leave having satisfied his curiosity about the practice area, pauses. He looks from Nepharios then back to Dreadbeard with a faint smile, wondering how things will play out and what he might be able to do in order to assist. He backs away a little, in case some area based spell is used, then tries to remember what he can of the Demogorgons.
"A human, a dwarf and a Yuan-ti. I wonder what their skills might be."
He tries to make a quick appraisal of their equipment, hoping to gain insights into any specialization that they might have.
(( @DM: How are they dressed, and what are they carrying? And...have they previously given any clues as to their interests? ))
Dreadbeard ignores the insults but continues, "It's a simple challenge of getting a training dummy out of the shed, then whichever group does the most damage to the dummy, wins."
Dreabeard is wearing brown leather armour underneath a green jacket with gold trimmings. On his head, he wears a pair of goggles while carrying a staff. However, his beard is blackened as if burnt.
The human is wearing reddish-brown leather armour which lacks any sleeves. He wears black gauntlets over his hands, and he is carrying a book in his right hand. Just behind him is a zombie that is dressed like a butler.
The yuan-ti is wearing lime green robes that are tied together by a leather belt. She wields a long dagger in her hand.

Seeing Sylvie's slumping shoulders, Nephy is about to say something, but then the Demogorgons interfere. He watches the human with the zombie with mixed feelings. It was good to see necromancy and the undead apparently was nothing to be shy about, but these demogorgons seemed far more powerful than himself. It was hard to imagine they were first years students with powers like that. "A dummy?" Nepharios scoffs again. "Well count me out, the magic I use can only affect creatures so I would not be of any use in this contest."
"That sounds easy," says Jinx, sizing up the competition. How did these punks think the three of them could take on the whole of the Pale Hand? "Bring it on!"
Nephy gives the human an incredulous look. "Are you saying you are tough because you are about to attack a training dummy? Or are you sending in your uncle to do that for you?" He snarls at the human, motioning to his butler.
"What does the winner get out of this?" Sylvie asks, a hand resting on her hip. "You don't seem like the type of lot who do something just for the fun of it."

"Oh, you mean Potter here," the human man replies to Nephy. He then turns to the zombie and whispers a command. The zombie moves to the shed and begins rummaging around. "You are not bothered by him are you?"
"Well, I thought we were going to bragging rights?" the yuan-ti says to Dreadbeard.
Dreadbeard shakes his head, "Nonsense, we can make a wager in gold pieces. What do you say to twenty gold pieces?"
At that moment the zombie returns and sticks a training dummy down in the middle of the field.
"That's where the training dummy is."

"No, not at all, in fact Potter seems to be the nice and tidy one among you lot."The young noble says, turning to leave for the library as he has absolutely nothing to contribute to the challenge presented.
Alcazar shrugs as Nepharios leaves then turns back to the tableau before him. It still makes little sense.
"How is it that we assess who did the most damage?" he asks. "And is it really a valid test? A bolt of fire will set it alight, but not a normal living target, and that hardly seems fair."
Jinx cocks her head at Alcazar. "Uhh, he's got a point. Maybe we need two training dummies, and then whoever's dummy is in the worst shape at the end is the winner!"
"Alright, fair enough," the human turns back to the zombie. The zombie then promptly retrieves another dummy out of the shed and places it next to the other training dummy. "There is that better?"

Paartu looks at the three and then looks at the Pale Hand. "You are few and we are many. Why do you seek a fight against a superior force?"
