Fargrim followed the pair upstairs shortly (no pun intended) and made his way to the office. Spotting Alan eyeing the safe, he chastised, "Really? We're adventurers, not thieves. Earlier misgivings about Lord Hightower aside, perhaps we should avoid robbing this unfortunate company. I expect they lost enough money fleeing from that gelatenous cube... and perhaps whatever waits ahead."
Fargrim looked around the room, specifically looking for evidence that his theory was correct, and that the employees had fled in a hurry... and perhaps any evidence of something besides that cube that may have chased them away.
Turning to Solastor, he comments "Good man. I've managed to escape uninjured, but some of those rat bites looked nasty. I can help as well... perhaps your spells are best spent on that glorious fireball I saw earlier".
"Thank you Sir! As useful as flames can be, I always prefer a trained pair of hands in Co operation. Hmm. Some would classify a safe as a chest. Either way, I do not feel that this safe will walk itself away. Let us continue our search and return if needed.
Looking around the room Fargrim, you see a number of ledgers on desks and file cabinets with accounts and holdings information. It does not appear that anyone fled this place and that the creatures you have seen may be around because of it being night time and they being more active at night more than anything else.

"We should move along. No use loligagging around here. Alan, do you want to take lead this time? Your armor doesn't jingle quite as much as mine. After that close call earlier, discretion might be the better part of valor."
"Ha! Of course. It's completely natural to be afraid, little one. Don't you worry." Alan said, holstering his crossbow. He strapped his shield onto his arm and drew his rapier before leading the group onward. He tried his best to move silently and to look out for any threats that might come at them.
"Call me little one again. I'm sure I can save some height off you, human. Perhaps a couple inches off the top?" Fargrim brandished his battleaxe, but regardless followed behind Alan as he planned
"Tensions are high and this is a strange situation we are in, but we are doing well and should remember we are a team. Now, no one here is a thief but the owners are seemingly long gone and that safe might contain some information about what has happened here... I will take a quick crack at it."
Taman takes a wax pouch of small tools from his pack. He pokes two thin rods into the lock and moves them around...
Thieves tools: 7
"Ah damn, it's beyond my skills. Let's get on with the show!"
Taman puts the tools away, draws his hand crossbow and falls into line at the rear of the group.
Approaching the door carefully Alan opened it and peered inside. A large office with a huge wooden desk sat in the middle of the room. A large padded chair sat behind the desk. Doors led from the room in the 4 cardinal directions leading to what most likely are the catwalks you saw on entering the building.

No longer needing to look in only one direction, Solastor holds his shield for a moment as the light fades from its face. There is only a moment of darkness before a golden orb appears above his head eminating light in all directions.
"I believe radiance shall benefit us more that search lights here. I shall walk behind you Fargrim, our shields together will keep our foes from breaking our ranks. If we desire stealth I will walk further back as that is not my specialty."
Through the open doorways on each side of the room you can see the windows on the top portion of the building. Moonlight streaming in through the dirty streaked panes of glass.
Taman searches the desk and notices a bare square spot in the dust on the corner of the dusty desk and a folded sheet of parchment in the middle as if left there by whoever was last sitting in the chair.

Alan tried his hand at unlocking the safe, but he had no idea what he was doing and quickly gave up.
"Bah. Dang thing's locked. Is this the chest, you think?" He asked the others.

Solastor climbs up the door and illuminates the room.
"Odur has certainly guided me well to such a capable group! With our encounters thus far can I offer healing to any of you good men?"
His voice is joyous and filled with enthusiasm.
