"Legends are born in blood and fire." he mutters to himself as he stares at the bowl with burnt blood in it. He considers the rat, and wonders if perhaps the bowl contained his blood. Does the passage open for this ritual?
Maziara scans the room for another rat, or possibly the creature that almost fell on Marley and went limp (perhaps he could drain blood from that).
Marley also ponders the clues, pulling on his whiskers as he goes over the information in his head. He starts to get his pipe out for a contemplative smoke, but then thinks better of the idea, not wanting to fill the area with the aromatic smoke.
After a few moments, he thinks he guesses what Maziara is thinking and suggests, "We could maybe use some kobold? Plenty of blood back there..."
Sam you walk over and Grab the rat easily. Taking it to the Alter you cut it open and fill the offering bowl. Using the torch the blood catches fire releasing a bright red smoke that gets sucked into the Dragon statue. The stone dragon gives out a roar and the door opens. Light fills the room.
Maziara shields his eyes as they adjust to the sudden flooding of light. He looks through the door trying to make sense if the new environment that has been opened.
Marley draws his shortsword and rapier as he moves up to the left side of the doorway. He holds his breath in anticipation, his back pressed up to the wall as he waits to see if anything comes through the door.
Marley examines the area around the door to see if he can find any triggers.

Marley you can't seem to find a mechanism to open the door.
Sam you find a rat that seems to have been drained of blood dead on the floor
Sam - How was it drained?
D&D since 1984
Looks like by a knife or dagger
Sam - does the trail lead anywhere?
D&D since 1984
Blood trail? There is none. The husk of a rat looks like it had its blood drained then tossed into the corner.
So far yall found the following clues.
A note that says "Legends are born in blood and fire"
A bowl with burnt blood residue
A torch that has moved recently
A rat drained of blood
Maziara thinks on the clues.

Nature check for a Rat or other creature. You can go after the peicer or use your own blood (5 hp damage)

Crunchface chews on his lip and nods agreement. “That work.”
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
(I’ll run a nature check to see if we can get a rat quicker than a kobold.)

Nothing comes through the entrance. You wait around for a minute or so before poking your head around the corner.
You see a large room with 4 coffins 2 on each wall. Above each coffin is a stone statue of a elf knight.
In the center of the room is a large emblem, of a sword with a dragon wrapped around it.
The light is coming from a stained glass window on the upper left wall. The stain glass depicts a Knight riding a dragon into combat.
Crunchface, ever impulsive, walks through the door.
