"Which way to go?" Marley ponders out loud as he smokes. "If we take the road, more likely to run into someone who saw them maybe. But if we go by the river, faster... and maybe get this done sooner."
Maziara looks at his pan flute confused. “I think it’s time this gets a cleaning!” He gives it a little shake and puts it back in his bag.
“As for route… i vote the road. You always meet interesting characters on the road. Good stories to hear and share.” He smiles and waits for the rest of the group to chime in.
"The road seems like a good choice," Marley agrees. He runs his hand along the stone wall. "Elven make, this is...." he smiles at Maziara and Crunch. "Perhaps we will find Elven ruins on our search as well."
Eager to get on with it the party heads north out of town. The road north, the kings road, is much yhe samevas the road they took into town. The morning passes with little event. A couple hours later the party reaches the fork in the road. Following the map they saw in the office the party turns east off the main road down a dirt trail.
Traveling along the dirt road is rougher but still relaxing, so far no sign of monster or bandit that could have caused the disaperance. By mid afternoon the party arrives at what you assume is the outpost.
The outpost is a small tower that is just higher then the surrounding trees. Walking inside you find a small living area with 3 beds, a stove/fire pit, a locked chest, and a ladder up to the second floor.
Climbing the ladder you find yourself just above the tree tops. From the view you can see a few clearings and smoke rising to the east, the river snaking thought the valley south and way off in the distance you see what could be the next OP. A small open cage of carrier birds sits on the roof. The birds seem to be use to humans, you assume this is how reports are sent to the town.
Crunchface and Marley yall both rolled high enough for the two hidden details.
Crunchface with a 10 you find a small key handing on a hook behind the door. Checking the chest it opens to reveal the following.
A log book with loose paper and a pen and ink. The most recent entry states that the group saw a few strange foot prints near the OP but not enough to add to the official report. The chestvalso had two potions of healing and some trail rations.
Marley with your 17 you see the foot prints mentioned in the log book. The prints are leaving the OP just off the main path parnelling it. The foot prints are of a small humanoid with clawed feet.
Sam "Light is fading fast. I say we hunker down somewhere till morning. We could ask over at the farm house to rest the night in the barn. What do you all think?"
Maziara joins as well. He starts playing a little tune on his pan flute to pass the time.
(Maybe he goes hard though, let’s see)

Which route yall want to take?
And with a nat 1.
Cap Barleyhill: "CUT THE RACKET AND GET BACK TO WORK."
He comes storming out.
"Oh it's yall. Please don't distract my guards. "
He goes back inside mumbling something about adventurers

Crunchface agrees. “What we wait for then?”
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
"Sam? Are you ready to go friend?" Maziara looks toward Sam.

With a 19 and a 12 yall don't find much else.
Following the tracks takes you down the path towards Farmer Brown's Farm. You loose the tracks about 100 yards from the farm.
The sun is setting and off in the distance you hear the howl of a wolf.
Do you press towards the far or try and pick the tracks back up?
(Who needs a healing potion?)
Crunchface pockets one of the healing potions and offers the other to anyone who might need it.
(I think we press on to the farm.)

“Sounds good to me! Hey Marley, didnt you say something about a wolf back at the tavern?” He asks hearing the wolf howl.
