Aoife grunts in pain as she is attacked suddenly by the lornlings. She casts Hunter's Mark on the first Lornling that attacked her instead of on the hag, drops her bow and draws her talon shortsword to attack the first one that attacked her.
BA - Hunter's Mark on Lornling 1
Attack1 : (disad 19 or nat 1 for 8 to hit)
Attack 2: (disad 26 or nat 1 for 8 to hit)
Attack 3 (dread ambusher) (disad 24 or 16 to hit) for 6 piercing damage plus 5 hunter's mark if it hits.
Aoife's 2 attacks miss but dread ambusher strikes true killing the lornling.
Will wait to see if Finley changes his action as Bavlorna does have him grappled and did 31 damage to him. Mirror Image would not be so useful since she knows which one is the real Finley.
but dread ambusher strikes true killing the lornling.
(OOC: Hooray for Gloom Stalkers! First time I've actually played with one in my party.
@Valeskah - it doesn't matter here since Aoife killed the Lornling, but for future fights don't forget that when Aoife hits with her Dread Ambusher attack, she does an additional 1d8 damage.)
Attack1 : (disad 19 or nat 1 for 8 to hit) Attack 2: (disad 26 or nat 1 for 8 to hit)
(OOC: Ugh! Round 1 is going from bad to worse! 😨 I'm just glad that Aoife took out one of them. I'm definitely feeling that Valrieth made a good choice to go with Chalice Starry Form here because I think that we're going to need the healing. Let's hope that Octavian can help us out here before the surviving Lornlings make another nine attacks!)
(OOC: Assuming that Aoife's character sheet is up-to-date, I think that this flurry of attacks means that Aoife was knocked unconscious, came back to 1 HP with Relentless Endurance, was knocked out again, and then stabbed one more time for a failed death save. I'm going to post for Val based on that understanding.)
Valrieth is hopeful when the Lornlings seem to quail at the sound of Octavian's flute. But that's before two more Lornlings appear, and then she hears Aoife "thump" to the ground near her while the Lornlings continue to attack her. "Aoife! No!", she shouts as she struggles to fight off the two Lornlings near her, but she is buoyed by her belief in their Fate. She reminds herself that they did recently defeat Granny Nightshade, and she grits her teeth and ignores the sharp knives of the Lornlings. In this horrible, filthy hut and facing the possibility of death, Val feels a simple clarity: "First, save Aoife."
Movement: None. Locked in combat with the Lornlings. Action: Cast spell Frostbite, Lornling 5 (the one who knocked out Aoife, that one seems the most dangerous). Lornling 5 must make a DC 15 CON save or take damage: 10 (cold) Affected targets also have disadvantage on the next weapon attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. Bonus Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Healing Word, Healing Aoife: 5 Chalice Starry Form, extra healing for Val herself: 5 (Because if Val goes down, we're in a lot of trouble) Free Action: Talking
I should have said that the bestial spirit again uses its movement to run enthusiastically in tight circles counter-clockwise (not leaving its square). I'm not sure whether that helps at all, but Val had explained that it would be running widdershins, and it's excited to do that.
Also, Val will again look to use her Cosmic Omen to debuff Bavlorna if Finley casts any spell on her that requires a saving throw.
That causes Bavlorna to start sneezing but that does not interfere with her bite, nor does it affect her special ability to create lornlings
(OOC: Got it. It sounds like that might be triggering her allergy, which means that she also cannot "cast spells," which is probably good for us. But if she's producing two new Lornlings every round, that's going to be a problem.
@Weathervision - Can we ready an action with a trigger "immediately after Bavlorna acts"? That is, could we have an action that triggers just after Bavlorna creates new Lornlings but would also trigger if Bavlorna does something else on her turn? If so, Finley might want to try a readiedThunderwave to try to kill the newly-created Lornlings before they can move or attack. Even if she doesn't, he could cast the spell, which might break her grapple. Similarly, if Octavian can play his flute again, then it would be better to do that as a reaction that triggers right after Bavlorna creates new Lornlings so that he can hopefully frighten them before they can attack.)
Valrieth suggests, "Octavian, get ready to play your flute again as soon as the hag creates any more of these Lornlings!"
Realizing things are not going well for him, Finley casts Thunderwave directly at Bavlorna and the lornling that attacked him, while also breathing fire at her from his Potion of Fire Breath. If both of them are pushed away from Finley, he moves back five feet..
Action: Cast Thunderwave: Con Save15 on Lornling 6 and Bavlorna. Damage: 2 on a failed save pushes them back 10 ft.
Aoife slips past two of Lornling 1's dagger attacks but the second one catches her unawares. She grimaces in pain and doesn't see the new Lornling 5 attack. The first dagger strike would have sent her reeling, but Aoife grits her teeth and stays up (relentless endurance) but the second and third attack from L5 take her down.
She opens her eyes again, gasping, after Val's Healing Word and uses half her movement to get up again. She huffs and throws herself back into the fray, taking out the Lornlings as efficiently as possible. (Do any still have advantage? I've rolled straight rolls below but will roll again for disadvantage as needed).
Action:
Attack 1: Sylvan Shortsword to attack Lornling 5: 15 to hit for 10 piercing damage
Attack 2: Sylvan shortsword to attack the closest Lornling if 5 has gone down with the first attack. 19 to hit for 10 piercing damage
Bonus Action:
+1 dagger attack to whichever Lornling is closest and still up: 20 to hit for 9 piercing damage
(OOC: @Valeskah - Don't forget that attacks against the Lornlings have disadvantage. Maybe take those first 2 Sylvan Shortsword attack rolls as 1 attempt and roll another 2 for the 2nd Sylvan Shortsword attack? Plus an extra attack roll for handling disadvantage with the dagger?)

Round 2
The party is up. Post when able.
The wolf token is for Val's summoned beast
(OOC: Assuming that Aoife's character sheet is up-to-date, I think that this flurry of attacks means that Aoife was knocked unconscious, came back to 1 HP with Relentless Endurance, was knocked out again, and then stabbed one more time for a failed death save. Valrieth was stabbed twice. She must past two DC 10 saving throws to maintain concentration on Summon Beast:
CON saving throw #1: 22
CON saving throw #2: 23
Round 2: Valrieth
Valrieth is hopeful when the Lornlings seem to quail at the sound of Octavian's flute. But that's before two more Lornlings appear, and then she hears Aoife "thump" to the ground near her while the Lornlings continue to attack her. "Aoife! Chalice Starry Form, extra healing for Val herself: 5
(Because if Val goes down, we're in a lot of trouble)
Free Action: Talking
Concentration: Summon Beast
Bestial Spirit, AC: 13, HP: 30
The Bestial Spirit acts on Val's turn immediately after she acts.
Movement: None. Remain in melee, defending Valrieth.
Action: Attack Lornling 4, bite/gore: 20, Damage: 12 (piercing)
Lornling 4 dies
Two edits to Valrieth's turn:
I should have said that the bestial spirit again uses its movement to run enthusiastically in tight circles counter-clockwise (not leaving its square). I'm not sure whether that helps at all, but Val had explained that it would be running widdershins, and it's excited to do that.

Bonus: Potion of Fire Breath: Dex Save 13 on Bavlorna. Damage: 10 Fire
Move: If everything is pushed away from him, he moves down 5 feet. If not, he stays where he is.
Fire Breath Uses: 2/3 left.
