“Well done Ms. Hisashi the Custard Dragon! Yer right, tha’ will help tremendously fer our mission.” Finley smiles and laughs.

Gan-Re turns back to Palasha and says ‘Sorry, I got caught up in all the excitement. Lady Hisashi was just fantastic. To be honest I’m not sure who would take the watch. We need all the help we can get really and wanted to ask you and someone called Dirlagraun for advice. Do we have to decide now?’

"The Big Top Extravaganza will start soon. Its best if you make these decisions now otherwise the heist will be a mess. If you need to speak to Dirlagraun then speak her. Lets not dilly dally" says Palasha.

Valrieth is a little torn.  The whole eating contest seems strange and a little disgusting to her.  But she wants to support her friend, Hisashi.  As the crowd starts chanting, she starts clapping along and cheering, "You can do it, Hisa!  The Fates are with you, Custard Dragon!"

Reminder that Burly already gave the location of Dirlagraun as being just outside the lost and found wagon.

"You will find out when you speak to Dirlagraun" says Candlefoot.

"Congratulations, Hisa!  Our little dragon felled a goliath!"

"I agree Finley, that's a terrific prize for our plans.  We walk under a lucky star.  When one plan fails, Fate provides another way."

45 minutes till the Big event

"Candlefoot, Palasha, do you perform in the Big Top Extravaganza?  If not, have you ever seen it?  It's hard to plan when we don't know what it's like, and I have so many unanswered questions!"

Val isn't very hungry, and she assumes that Hisa isn't either at this point.  As long as the others have had a chance to eat, Val suggests that they head toward Dirlagraun and talk as they walk.  Questions Val would like to ask:

1. "Is the audience standing?  Or is there some sort of seating?"
2. "How far is the audience from the performers during the Big Top Extravaganza?"
3. "Is there some barrier between the audience and the performers?"
4. "Are Misters Witch and Light performers in the Big Top Extravaganza?  Or are they just off to the side, supervising?"
5. "How many ways are there to get in-and-out of the Big Top tent?"
6. "When do they crown the Witchlight Monarch, and is Mr. Witch involved in that 'ceremony'?"
   
7. "Candlefoot, do you think that you could disguise any of us as performers?  Or are a harengon, kobold, dwarf, and aarakocra all too obvious?"

Mr. Witch stands by himself at the entrance to the back staff area as he does not perform

There  is 1 entrance in front. The back entrance is for staff members and is magically protected from intruders

Candlefoot does not have that skill to disguise the party, plus Mr. Witch and Mr. Light know every carnival performer or hand by name and appearance

The party moves to the lost and found wagon and outside the lost property wagon is a large feline creature with midnight-blue fur. It has a pair of tentacles extending from its shoulders and wears fake butterfly wings. Hanging from its collar is a small wooden keg. The creature roughhouses with two young boys. One boy squeals, “Again, Dirla, again!” while the other hangs onto the creature’s neck.

Gan-Re runs up to Dirlagraun and gives a little bow ‘Greetings good Dirlagraun, those are lovely wings and really suit you. My name is Gan-Re and this is Lady Hisashi, Val and Finley. We have been given a quest by Burly and Palasha. I’m not sure why, but it’s very important that we take the watch from Mister Witch. Everyone seems to agree that this is a great idea and we promise to give it back. Burly said that you can help us, and we need all the help that we can get.’ 

"Ah so its time to get some answers. At times Mr. Light and Mr. Witch are tense about something and people are are going missing. Including my son Star." A tear rolls down her feline face.

As you talk Viro the boy grabs a mirrored ball from the lost property wagon and runs off.

Dirlagraun uses her angry Mom tone "come back Viro"

The boy runs off and the strange mirror ball shimmers in an unusual manner

Dirlagraun was about to leave, but stays to watch the girl. She then looks at the party.

"Can you bring back Viro. Some items from the lost property wagon are dangerous. I need to stay and watch the girl" asks Dirlagraun

Roll Perception to see if you can find the small boy among the crowd and stalls.

Valrieth's big eyes see the boy as he runs away.  She darts after him, her tall ears swiveling to follow the sound of his steps.

Val easily finds the boy with the mirror ball hiding behind an empty stall and brings Viro back. By then the mother of the 2 children is there to pick them up. Dirlagraun takes the mirror ball with her mouth and tosses it back into the lost property wagon

Once the children are gone Dirlagraun says "Thank you I do not know if I can bear losing a child, even those that are not my own."

The mood of the carnival lightens for some odd reason.

 I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your game, I'm new to PBP. I've been following along for a while and just wanted to say that I'm loving your characters, storytelling & roleplay! <3

"Well done, Ms. Valrieth!" Finley claps quietly before turning towards Dirlagaun, "Aye, ah'm sorry about yer boy, but do ye have any idea wha' may have happened ta yer son and the others?
