Info dump for Aoife
Trying to hide / tie up Cradelfall
Get any inside info from Mishka
Give Mishka a message for Will
Send Mishka off to meet Will
I don't know how many rounds it takes to pick a lock, but just dashing out and back is going to take a 4 rounds or so. If Mishka has a lot of information to share, then I figure it could take Val a couple of minutes to get back to the kitchen, but I just wanted to post it all in one post so that we can get the group back together more quickly if nothing interrupts her or happens in the meantime.)
Mishka....follows Val out and gives her a hug glad to taste fresh air and freedom. Though she remains quiet for now as she is still near Granny Nightshade.
Aoife....nods, picks up the trussed dragon and takes it outside.
Valrieth smiles and pats the girl's arm. She looks around the area outside Loomlurch. (For @valeskah, they're on the east side of Loomlurch, just outside the door of L13, and it's around 8:30 p.m.) Val looks back into the kitchen and says to Ilifir and Finley, "Free the other dwarf, if you can. We'll be back as soon as we can."
For the next minute or two, Val will be in the east yard...
Val makes sure that her moonlight monocle is firmly affixed over her eye to help her see in the dark yard. Then she tells Mishka and Aoife, "Follow me," before she dashes south and weaves her way through the great branches (roots?) of the tree on the east side of Loomlurch.
As they move, she talks to Aoife in a firm but mousey voice, "I don't know where you came from, but you're now in the Prismeer, a fey kingdom in the Feywild. The three wicked hags of the Hourglass Coven have usurped power and twisted the lands. The hags kidnap children, like Mishka, from other worlds through The Witchlight Carnival, and one of the hags, Granny Nightshade, apparently puts them to work in her toy shop here in Loomlurch in the land of Thither. We are trying to free the children, hopefully without fighting Granny Nightshade herself."
Val pauses among the huge branches (or roots? where I put "dragon" on the map). With a dreamy, far-away look in her eyes, Val says, "I believe that the Stars brought you to us, and I hope that you'll help us and maybe continue with us on our Quest." Then, more clearly looking at Aoife, she says, "We may need the dragon as leverage if we have to bargain with Granny Nightshade, but we need to make sure that he can't cause trouble until we come back for him. Hide Cradelfall here. Maybe tie him up to one of the branches?"
While Aoife works, Val peppers Mishka with questions:
"Mishka, we're going to free the other children. Is there anything you can tell me that would help us?" "Does Granny Nightshade have any weaknesses?" "Are there more dragons, or is Cradelfall the only one you've seen?" "How many other children are there? Where are they kept?" "Is there a secret way in or out?" "Who is the dwarf under the grate in the kitchen?" and finally, "Have you seen any portraits or paintings of Granny Nightshade in Loomlurch? If so, where?"
Once she's heard anything Mishka can tell them, she tells Aoife, "I'm just going to point Mishka to safety, and then we have to get to the kitchen to help Finley and Ilifir!"
Val takes Mihska's hand and dashes with her to the big tree in the lawn south of the toadstool ring (L15). She points Mishka to the thicker brush east and south of the lawn. She says, "Head for the thicker brush. There. Stay off the lawn and away from the Goblin Market. Sneak quietly south, passing behind the Goblin Market. In 150 or 200 feet, you'll reach the lip of a gully that runs along south of Loomlurch. Turn right, toward Loomlurch, and follow along the edge of the gully. Before you get to Loomlurch, you'll find a bridge of wood and vines that crosses the gully. Run south across it and don't look back. Once you're across, call for help from 'Will.' He and the other children will keep you safe until we've freed the other children." She silently thinks that she hopes Will can keep her safe. She has Mishka repeat the instructions to make sure she got them all right.
Before she sends Mishka off, Val says, "When you find Will, tell him this: 'They have entered Loomlurch and liberated the kitchen. Send Sloane and the others get in position and wait for a signal, either a shower of sparks like fireworks or a shrill whistle. Then trigger the distraction. Will should wait with you south of Loomlurch, and we'll send more children to him as we free them."
Val waits just long enough to see Mishka run out of sight, and then she hurries back to Aoife and back to the kitchen.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ilifir breathes deeply, lettinghis eyes close as valrieth handles the situation. after ten deep breaths he snaps his eyes back open "spike, if she steps through, spook her. id like to see if hags are above fear" theres a slight rustling sound, then ilifir walks over to the grate, and sets to trying to unlock it
sleight of hand 10+3 (wow, poor rolls lately)
"if there're risks to take, let me take them" he tells the group quietly "ive tricks enough for a small basket, and less hope than anger"
he turns granny nightshades weakness over in his mind, if that even is her weakness, if it were him, he would 'accidentally' let a false weakness slip in order to sidetrack would be heroes. perhaps someone could simply walk up and take the painting if they knew they could get away without being detained, and the memory loss would styme pursuit
he puts a hand on mishkas arm as she leaves "wait, do you know if the hags seen anyone yet?"

The padlock snaps open and once the metal grate is opened Elkhorn the dwarf climbs out of the pit and heads to the nearby cupboard to grab his shield and longsword. He begins walking towards L14 and you can guess he plans to lay low Granny Nightshade
Valrieth thanks the girl, hugs her, and tells her to be safe. Once Mishka makes across the lawn and to the underbrush, she returns to Aoife and then heads back into the kitchen.
It will take some time for the other children to get into position.
Val doesn't expect Will's gang to be in position for at least another 10 minutes by the time Mishka sneaks across, finds them, and relays her message. But Val thought that it was wise to have Will's gang get into position anyway. She hopes that party manages to avoid Granny Nightshade long enough (or stall her in bargaining). Even if they avoid the hag entirely, she figures that they'll eventually need the distraction to escape from Loomlurch without being overrun by the tin soldiers.

@weathervision - Are Val and Aoife back in the kitchen at this point? Or are they still out in the yard?
Aoife listens to the harengon carefully, her face becoming more and more stony. “Children shouldn’t be slaves,” she grumbles in a low voice. “They should be, uh, playing tag or learning to use a bow.”
She nods, decisively. “I’ll help you. I do want to get home, eventually, but I’ll help you as long as I can until I get to go home.” She rebalances the trussed and bound dragonling still in her other arm and sticks out a large greenish hand. She shakes Valrieth’s hand if offered and does as she’s requested, placing the dragon into a crook in the tree’s upper trunk.

Valrieth gives Aoife a somewhat quizzical look about children learning to use a bow. But then again, Val had a somewhat odd childhood. Maybe that's something that other children learned to do growing up.
Val definitely takes the half-orc's hand. Her little fuzzy hand is small, but she shakes hands enthusiastically. Val didn't have any long-term friends when she was little, but since she accepted the Quest from Madryck Roslof, she has learned that it's rather easy to make friends. (It's a little harder to keep them....but that's only because Fey Crossings or weird Fey Magic keeps whisking them away!)
Val returns to the kitchen with Aoife just in time to see...
Elkhorn the dwarf climbs out of the pit and heads to the nearby cupboard to grab his shield and longsword. He begins walking towards L14 and you can guess he plans to lay low Granny Nightshade
What do you do?
Having learned his name from Mishka, Val says, "Elkhorn, no." She hops quickly and quietly across the room to block him from getting to the door. She holds her hands out in front of her and shakes them (and her head) in an frantic gesture to stop. She doesn't want to say more so close to Granny Nightshade's room.
If Elkhorn stops, Val tries to shuffle him away from the door and back toward the kitchen's little oven where the others are presumably gathered (away from the door to L14). If he goes there with her, she'll have more to say once they're farther from the door to L14.
Elkhorn tires to shove Val out of the way intent on killing Granny Nightshade. The look in his eyes is not vengeance but a righteous fury.

Valrieth tries to explain to Elkhorn why they stopped him, "Don't rush in by yourself. We can help, but we need time to heal our injuries from the fight with Cradelfall." She walks over to the oven behind Ilifir and Finley and motions for Elkhorn to join them (or for Aoife to drag him over). If Elkhorn is still resisting, she looks to Ilifir and Finley -- a fellow dwarf -- for help convincing him: "We need a plan so that we can all work together, right boys?"
Mechanically, Val is hoping someone else can persuade Elkhorn, if needed, but she's trying to help in her usual by laying out reasons that others should join forces and contribute to the party's efforts.
ilifir stares at val with barely concealed resentment, not of her, but of the situation, and that shes right, and hes going to be arguing against his own case "valrieth is right" he begrudgingly admits "as much as i would like to just walk in there and renten the slaving hag to little shreds and consign the bloody remnants to smoke and sky, she would kill us all as we are, and that serves no-one but herself. if you dont listen to reason we will be forced to use you as a distraction, and as much as i would be happy with spike and i grabbing what we need and sending the children to flee while the witch is busy dismantling you, you are more useful alive, and it wouldnt take nearly long enough unless she was having fun"
