This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
quote from Romantically Apocalyptic byVitaly S Alexius
"Good job, guys!", Valrieth says when she sees Finley and Ilifir destroy the wicked doll. But then the rug rises up and immediately engulfs Aoife. "Omigosh!", Val squeaks. Val has flashbacks to the blob that kept engulfing Finley back in Bavlorna's hut. Only this time, they don't have a rope tied around Aoife to pull her out.
Val is worried that setting the rug on fire could hurt Aoife, and she's not sure whether cold would harm a rug. She decides to use the spell component for which she bargained away her ability to whisper. She removes a small, gilded acorn from her pouch and holds it in her fist, pressed against her chest as she chants an incantation. Toward the end of the spell, she holds the bauble in her fingers and blows on it. A sparkling mist seems to flow out from the golden acorn toward the rug where it coalesces into the shape of a small fox, but its fur is forest green and sparkles in the light as though it's covered with multi-colored glitter. Val points at the rug and commands the 'fox' in Sylvan: "Help pull her free."
Val will also attempt to "pull" Aoife free from the rug telekinetically.
Movement: Val moves south and then southwest along the wall to stan in between the rug and the child in that corner. Action: Cast spell (LVL 2 slot) Summon Beast A bestial spirit (Land) manifests next to the rug. Key Stats: AC 13, HP 30, Melee Attack: (Maul) +7 to hit, dmg 1d8+6, Pack Tactics Bonus Action: telekinetically shove Aoife. Aoife must succeed on a STR 15 save or be moved 5 ft toward Val. (Aoife can choose to fail the saving throw.) Free Action: Talking
Immediately after Val's turn, the beastial spirit acts. This round, it will just try to help Aoife escape from the rug, growling and tugging at the edge of the rug like a dog with a pull-toy.
"Killer rug!"Finley shouts, seeing all the help Aoife is getting he's going to prepare another Fire Bolt if they're able to break free from the monstrosity.
Action: Hold attack action against the rug, only cast if Aoife is freed. Fire Bolt: Hit: 25 Damage: 11 fire
ilifir mimics finley, forming the spell but not casting it until aoife escapes
Holding EB: 12/9 and 21/8

Aoife keeps struggling but fails to free herself (second roll is 12 - argh!)
(OOC: So close! Val is still trying to pull Aoife free, but I see now that to break a grapple, we actually have to move Aoife out of the rug's reach. Val can only telekinetically pull Aoife 5' per round, so I guess Val and her beast should have been pulling in opposite directions on the rug and Aoife to break the grapple this round.)
(I will count the athletics 8 for Aoife round 1 action. Which means Aoife can roll again for the 2nd round. As the athletics 12 roll is the first roll of round 2)
Aoife continues to struggle (Athletics 9 - OOC this is ridiculous! :D )
(OOC: Ugh! 😖
@Weathervision - And I guess Valrieth's attempt to pull Aoife 5-ft out of the rug failed to break the grapple? If the rug doesn't take any other action than slowly smothering Aoife, then are we back at the top of round 3?)
Valrieth is horrified by thrashing she sees inside the rug. If Aoife could just get one arm free, she might have enough leverage to get herself out of the rug. From her spot on the west side of the room, Val looks at Finley and Ilifir in a panic and says, "Should I try Dispel Magic to see whether that breaks the enchantment on the rug? Or just keep trying to pull her free?"
"we have to trust her" ilifir says tersely, watching the struggle with alarm "give it a few more seconds at least" remaining tense and waiting for aoife to make it out so he can fire, meanwhile spike tries to help aoife free by jumping up and down on the rug
holding EB: 26/9 26/8
spike: help aoife

That brings pincushion in the bloodied state. Perhaps Ilifr can finish it off.
