Killian and Dark, in their effort to find somewhere to shelter, flees with the rest of the group from the oncoming storm. They find themselves back near the large boulder in the forest. While looking for a tree with a good enough amount of shelter (the "leaves" haven't yet returned), the find one of the slightly larger trees nearby actually has a gap beneath it, as if a home had been carved out there. Looking inside, it looks big enough to be a tight squeeze, but get everyone in.
(Rumble, we'll open the other pouches once you're no longer rushing about with the others)
As all of us get into this hollow of the tree, is there loose dirt around that I can sorta build a small makeshift dam at the entrance to keep any running water from entering? Say its 6 inches high across the front. Nothing needing an engineering degree for.
As I do so, I'll speak up and say, "well I've seen manta like that in the oceans before but they never did anything like that, seems death in this place has some weird magical customs, and Rumble I know you feel responsible for the halflings deaths but they didn't really give us a chance at explaining our selves. Are all halflings that stubborn Darnell? Anyway...when it comes to fighting for your life it must always be you who is victorious, but let's try and be a little more diplomatic from now on I know I'll have to try harder my self........" killian sorta keeps talking until someone else speaks up, not really sure where he's going with his train of thought more like thinking out loud as he works on the makeshift dam.
Mara nods in agreement but knows that they need to be ready incase aomething goes wrong at any time. "That is all well and good butnwe must also be prepared that not all others will be willing to negotiate. I do not like killing if it can be helped but it is foolish to hesitate in such situations. I will admit that this is the first time I have used magic to fight something other the creatures that live in old ruins."
The group huddles into the cosy hole, the larger party members feeling a little squished. Killian notes that there is something of a channel already in place, and at the end of it appears to be a small stone bucket to catch rain water.
The group managed to get into the shelter before the storm reaches them. After about a half minute of getting cosy with one another, the rain begins to flow outside. It appears to be a light drizzle at the moment, but it might get worse.
(Anyone want to do anything while all squeezed up? If not shall we move on to something eventful, or when the storm ends.)
"In my experience Halflings are always very welcoming and peaceful folk. However, in this strange place strange behavior might well be the norm."Leojym looks around on the ground for any sand that may be around.
Rumble just lets out a defeated sigh, shakes his head dismissal, and goes back to looking over the other two pouches now that things were more calm. Frankly, he seemed too tired all of sudden to do anything more. That is, aside from passively keeping an eye on the entrance from his place right next to it. Once inventor is out of the way, he'll pass out the remaining loaves for folk to chew on. Hopefully this time folk will be able to eat as much without the earth getting all wonky on them again.
(S/N: Whatever happened with those rabbits earlier?)

(The rabbits got prepped for food. They were skinned and put into breakfast sandwiches for people.)
With the group having a nice close moment and some food, they wait for the rain to pass away. The smell of the rainfall has that sweet smell that the grass has. It is a little sickening since it's the only scent beyond each other around. The little channel fills the stone pot halfway with the water while they wait.
After what feels like an hour, the rain subsides, though the ground outside seems to be lightly coated from the downpour.
Seeing that the rain stopped for the time being, Mara will look outside of the small shelter they had found. She will take the time to see if anything strange has come about from the rain.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
By the end of the torturous(if only b/c of the sweet smell) hour, Rumble has looked over the leather pouches, and passed along the one belonging to the boss of the trio over to Killian. "Alright then. Time to go check things out. I'll go first." Rumble doesn't wait for an answer before squeezing his way outside to take a proper look around.

Dark stayed quiet while in the tree. He was hoping to recover a little from his fall. Not sure if the group is annoyed by his attempted heroics or appreciative, he comes out to take a look after the rain.

Stepping out of the hollow beneath the tree there is a stickiness on the ground from where the rain fell. The trees are still bare, but a rustling can be heard. Off in the distance the clumps of "leafs" can be seen amassing into a swarm, headed back towards the forest.
Killian and Rumble:
You note that some of the boulder seems to have eroded away in the rainfall, and it has moved slightly, as if it is seated over a hole.

Seeing the 'leaves' amassing sends a tingle down the earth genasi's spine. Nevertheless, he kept up the scan until the damage got noted. "What in the word...?" He mutters, drawing closer to the eroded bolder. After a brief bit of hesitation, he will go as far as to lick the boulder, testing its composition to see if its the same as the sweet "grass".
Investigation:2 (+3 if perception or survival be more appropriate)
"Man, oh, man. My cousin Tumble would'a certain hated -- wha... wait a minute. What this here. Get the rest. Might have to act quick." He says as he moves into position to start guaging whether or not to move the boulder further.

Killian sees rumble lick the boulder. Raises an eyebrow and asks "So how'd that taste?" sorta joking as its a rock that he licked. "Let's see if we can move this thing"

And that's all I have to say about that.
