Killian seeing the tome will not fit in the pouch, decides its best to separate his items between the two as they are a little crammed into the first one.

When she hears the noise, Mara will move to the side and watch it closely, not wanting to be unprepared in the even that whatever came out of it was not friendly. Her hands are held up but she does not get them in position to cast any kind of spells just yet.
"Well, now that ya mention it." Rumble will fill up his own water skin, drink a bit from the chest, and then once assured no other needed to do the former two, wash his face last. Thus renewed, he'd settle back in his own corner again, intending to catch a few extra winks of shut eye before the group have move on. He snaps to alertness hearing the noise along with the others, he'll grumble a complaint, but at least get onto his feet all the same with great club to aid in keeping him propped up.
As casual as his appearance was, the earth genasi was ready to spring at a moment's notice of danger. "My cousin got bit by a snake doing the same thing." He idly comments after killian sticks his head at the entrance.

When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
Crawling out of the hole the two elven children appear, bringing another backpack with them. They stand up, looking slightly intimidated by the party crowding around them. They have some marks of dirt over the faces, hands and knees from crawling through the caverns.
"Oh, give them a bit of space." The crone says, pushing the others aside to get to them. "You didn't run into any trouble, did you?"
The two elves shake their heads, then pass the pack to the crone.
(The crone seems to use the staff as such, though seems possibly capable without it)
The crone looks within the bag at what is inside. "It'll do, children. Well done." She says, passing the backpack to the group to carry. Inside it appears to have several handfuls if mushrooms, some smooth blue stones, and a large glass jar with dozens of creepy crawlies in it.
Not wanting to crowd the children again, Rumble leans back against a far wall. "Something tells me that ain't gonna be the case. But if its anything like yester... day? *shrugs* You'll at least get some chicken."The earth genasi says with a smile. "Welcome back, chil'ren. You kids alright? Run into trouble out there?" He goes on to asks.

Mara nods to the elvej children as she waits for the party to finish with preparations. Her mind is focused on the civilization they had been told about, hoping that if they find these people they might know a way out.
The elves shake their heads to Rumble's questioning. The crone passes the backpack to the group. "Keep hold of this. It's not much, but it's some food if needed." She points to the smooth blue stones inside. "Those are some strange stones we found a while back. They seem to stay cool for a long time. I've called them Chillrocks, don't know if they have a real name, but if you break it on the floor it'll release a cooling waft for a few minutes. They'll be useful where we are going."
The crone the heads back towards the tunnel the group came in by. "If you're ready, we'll move now. Children, stay near and don't try and fight anything. Use your daggers if you need to, and remember to keep low."
Killian follows along with the group roughly in the middle of the pack for marching order I'd say the 3 of them leading whoever is right behind them than Killian

Following the crone, she leads them to the trapdoor they entered through before resting. "Now listen to me very carefully. As soon as we're out there it's enemy territory again. I'll lead the way there, but you've got to keep out of sight of the guardians. There's quite a few of us, so we should keep in small clusters rather than a long line. Follow me, don't get caught, and for goodness sake don't do anything stupid."
With that she cautiously peers through a crack in the trapdoor before opening it and gesturing for people to get out.

@Killian
The contents of your pouches would need to be divided between the two. The tome is too big for a pouch, but would fit within the backpack.
Simmeat hung back behind the rest of the group, not really caring about the divvying-up of materials.
Maybe we can just settle down in this desert place... it seems like they have a pretty established society if they have a form of currency.

Darnell hangs back with Simmeat. He uses his knife to shorten the too-long sleeves of a small, ripped shirt, humming tunelessly.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Good advice for me, too, the halfling thinks. He draws his dagger, checking to make sure he has his sling and bullets in his pouch.
